  1. Hi Tracy, WELCOME to LBT! Could you tell us a little about yourself? Where are you from, who is you doctor, starting/current weight???

Crystal, I think you are referring to charism's or gifts within ourselves, right? If so, I think my greatest gift is honesty.
  3. Dell, Do you know if your BCBS covers lap-banding? Most definately they will cover the GBP, but are you certain that they cover the band? Im with Penni... BUG the heck out of your coordinator. Good luck!

Hi Vauren, Welcome to LBT! Im response to your diaphram issue... Yes, this feeling is normal! In my humble opinion I thought it felt more like getting hit in the tummy with a basketball. Like they said earlier, it gets better day by day. Good luck on you new journey!
  5. Alice, dont worry about this! People need little adjustments all of the time. Eventually - you may be able to work yourself back up to it... but for now thats just not comfortable. You did a very wise thing by having some removed!
  6. (((hugs))) Vera, one thing that i rememer about your last surgery was that you had a strange feeling they should/would replace your entire band... funny how our intuition works. If only they wouldve done it! God Bless you girl... were here for you!
  7. Hi Esmeralda - Welcome to LBT! Girl, we ALL have highs and lows with our bands... some good days, some bad days. Some days I even wonder if there is anything inside b/c I can eat so much! Youre lifestyle has alot of do with it too. Being a young mother with small children, its very hard to stick to a diet. Just wondering, do you eat alot of fast food? Its so much easier to get fast food or something else that is bandster poison then deal with grocery shopping, cooking then cleaning the kitchen and having 2 littles ones buzzing around you during this process. Im just guessing at things that may be hindering you from losing. Another thought... if you are able to spend any time on-line, alot of people go to fitday.com and chart their food intake so they can see where all those calories are coming from. If you use this, just make sure you chart everything you put into your mouth. (Its easy to forget about that handful of chips, or a couple of jelly beans) What about a fill? Do you think you may need an adjustment? Good luck.
  8. Hey Jenna, welcome to Bandland!!!
  9. Kim, I am right there with you... Im so glad Im not the only one that has conversations with themself. It IS gonna be a really L O N G weekend!
  10. Crystal, sounds like you go for the good/rich stuff. Heck - I like the good, the bad, the cheapy stuff, the bland, the rich tasting... I like em' ALL! And those malted milk eggs? ha! How about the entire bag?! I dont like te bigger ones as much as the little ones Maybe we should change this thread title to "Favorite Easter Candy". I love easter candy! (sigh) And Mary, you get a gold star for your perseverance! That truly is a NSV!
  11. WOW! you did a good job of healing... are you sore or anything?
  12. Nancy, thanks for the suggestion. But the trash or the toilet may be the only place candy will end up around here Nicole, oh how I remember those days. Week 4 is super tough, thats when I REALLY got hungry. Hang in there, its almost over. Still having crawfish on Sunday? THATS better then candy! (hmmm, Im not sure if thats a true statement. ok, if someone would give me a pound of crawfish and a bag of PB eggs and told me to choose one.... Id go for the eggs.)

OMG, that is too funny... but true! Bo reminds me of Travis Tritt, that country singer that married a Hooter waitress. And yes, I think Bo and Carrie have the hots for each other. What about Paula and Simon... whats the deal with those 2?
  14. Marie, I think Im drinking enough Water 80 - 100oz's a day. And yes, Ive been eating the shredded wheat, but have you looked at the carb content in those things??? That number alone sould make me go. I even thought about drinking a bottle of mineral oil, thats what the 'old timers' used to use.
  15. Hey Pat - have a great day! God bless you.
  16. Jonathan, I know what you mean... Im contemplating another one myself. This is discouraging! Keep in mind that some of us (like me, I think Alex did this too) didnt gain much restriction til 4 - 6 weeks post fill. This restriction stuff can sneak up on you overnight! (hopefully)

    Mikayla is gone!!!
  18. Lisa, you kill me! Nana, I came on a bit earlier and tried to reply, but things were too slow - lag... anyway, at that moment, I had a hand full of jelly beans! How coincidental! Have you ever sucked the suger/flavor off and just 'savored' the jelly? Nicole, this one's for you! During my mushy stage, my generous mother cooked supper for my family - roast, rice & gravy. What a sacrifice: 1) to not eat 2) to not eat Mom's food. So while noone was looking, I grabbed a spoon and DRANK the gravy..... ohhhhhhhhhhhh, heaven! Betcha dont feel so bad now!
  19. What is Haily's MO? Never heard of it - but at this point, Im ready to try just about anything... could someone pass me the dynamite, please?
  20. Nicole, my hubby LOVES those nasty peeps. Thats his absolute favorite!!! Mary, DONT OPEN THE BAG - those things are addicting!!!! One, two, three... oops, the whole bag is gone! Penni, you know, that's great idea - having the KIDS hide the candy!!! Ive already thrown some away (sweettarts, nerds) - they dug in the trash and got a few things out (cant believe Im telling the world about my disfunctional home)! Terri, you can try the veggie/fruit stuff... but that candy has a way of getting into my mouth, regardless of how stuffed I am ! Good luck.
  21. Thanks MIchelle for that great article! FYI: (I need to update the "Benefiber" thread with this same info) I did some label reading at Walmart and noticed that the Benefiber granules have MORE fiber and less carbs then the chewables... so its a wiser choice to get the Benefiber granules. ok Alex, did you say that the Atkin protien bars have 10 grams of fiber???
  22. Thats what this site recommened ... http://lapbandtransformation.com/Adjustments.htm
  23. Did pretty good through Valentines, even handeling the day today candy cravings. But here comes Easter. And I LOVE Easter candy. My favorites are the little Hershey pb eggs... my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Actually any of the soft stuff is worthy of entering my mouth. And its only gonna get worst, Sunday hasnt gotten here yet! Well, between yesterday and today my kids have brought home 3 baskets of junk candy. I cant seem to AVOID those baskets. Something is calling me, luring me to go 'dig' in them - like a giant magnet. So, I need some guidence and direction on HOW TO AVOID THE EASTER CANDY... I even weighed 3 pounds more today then yesterday from this crap!
  24. ok, the benefiber isnt working anymore. I thought Id bring back this thread just in case someone else is having the same problems. Im debating on whether or not I need a little fill. So I read the information about "Adjustments"... and I question the fiber intake. How in the world do we consume 25 grams of fiber?
  25. Penni, I just looked at John's site! WOW! Im impressed... if you guys ever head this way, pleeasssee come visit. Mike would LOVE him (he sings and plays guitar too)!
