It was laprocscopic and only a partial

Mine fell out like crazy! I was scared I'd be bald.. luckily I have enough hair for 5 people.....literally! But mine finally started slowing down and I can see baby hairs coming through. I'm 8.5 months out and it has happened for the last several months
-
I started at about 250lbs give or take and 5ft7.
I didn't wear jeans as I couldn't stomach the thought of buying 18-20 ' s or bigger. I couldn't get 15 ' s up over my mid thighs. I was wearing 2x+ in shirts.
Now, 8.5 months later here I am.. fitting comfortably in size 5 jeans.. and large shirts (could go down a size in shirts but a bit top heavy). It doesn't seem real! I am 90 lbs down, too!
What I've noticed besides my scale obsession, smaller jeans, etc.. my energy is through the roof, my back doesn't hurt nearly as often and the looks! I've noticed when I walk by people stop and stare. Literally. It makes me uncomfortable but then I remind myself it's not because I'm so big! It's a good thing. I guess. Haha!
But on a side note.. I finally went and got my belly button pierced. Whoa! That was SO nerve wracking let me tell you!
What are some crazy things have you experienced?!

Noooo.. sleeve recovery was way less painful. At least for me. I had my hysterectomy Nov 2014 and then sleeve in April 2015.

I'm about 8.5 months out and still don't feel like I'm any different. I can see it in the clothing sizes and even pics..but looking at myself in the mirror I dont. I went from a size 18+ down to a 5 (so far).

I don't have that ins... but basically that was my only co-morbidity.. some insurances won't approve with that (according to many people here).. but my surgeon said it's all in the wording. For instance "pre-diabetic" looks different than "elevated blood sugars". I had zero issues aside from that and being morbidly obese. The surgeons know what will/will not work and they usually won't waste their time if they know you won't qualify

Okay okay.. I've been slacking here friends! I used to post regularly and have been slipping. Sorry!
Anyway, I just wanted to update everyone on my progress so far.
I am just a little over 5 months out from surgery. I feel amazing. Hungry alll the time though haha. It goes away easily and I am steadily losing still.
As of this morning I am 75 lbs down from my highest presurgery weight. I couldn't see it when looking in the mirror. I still see that fat girl looking at me. My husband has been getting tons of compliments about me from coworkers. It's so strange!!
Anyway.. here are some pics for you all. A little motivation. Stay strong!!

Yes!! No matter what I ate it came back up. Water was literally the only thing I could consume. Turns out the bottom part of my stomach formed crazy amount of scar tissue. The dr had to open the stomach up and put botox in. I woke up and had zero problems since.

I have tons of hair.... super thick. Go to the hair salon to get it thinned.. so I'm not hurting just yet.. but if it doesn't slow down I may be in trouble soon. I can clean my brush out, then brush my hair half way and then need to clean it out again. It's insane.

I say unavoidable like a bad thing.. I mean it is more like if it is going to happen there's nothing we could have done to prevent it.
-
Never had a surgery on my stomach before.. they said it was a very rare thing that could happen.. something like 1 in 3 people and MAYBE 1 patient per year if that often.. it's a super easy fix and unavoidable. It was just my stomach trying to over heal I guess.

Surgery was in April 2015. Was horribly nauseous and couldn't stay awake. Couldnt eat anything and barely able to keep Water down. Went back to the dr who then sent me for some scans. The scans showed my stomach was not letting the fluids pass through correctly, and there was scar tissue built up around the end of my stomach. We did another surgery a few weeks later. The surgeon ballooned the stomach open and put botox into the muscles. I woke up and instantly felt 100 x ' s better!!
So.. the fun stuff. I have lost about 72lbs since surgery 3 months ago. I try to stay as active as I can and drink water nonstop daily. Oh... and my hair is now falling out. I take supplements daily. I am meeting the dr at the end of the week to see if he has any other suggestions for me.
I'm going to post a picture for you all to see. The pic on the left was the day or two after I got home from surgery, and the one on the right is from a few nights ago.

Probably gas and all of the fluids you were given. I had surgery Monday and going home today.. I Wana try to avoid the scale but I know that's a lie.

I was officially sleeved after what seemed like forever! Battle after battle..
But I had it done yesterday and doc said everything went smoothly. Plus, NO hernia!!
I have discomfort in areas and only 1 spot that is causing pain. Last night I was super nauseous and dry heaving . Which hurts like a mofo. Today I've had heartburn and slight discomfort on the side.
Ps, I lost about 20 lbs on the two week preop/liquid diet.
-
Nope.. never had any issues. I guess he wants all of his patients to get clearance.
-
For me the cardiologist wanted it done. i personally think it was to rack up $$ to bill ins. My surgeon only wanted the ekg but the cardiologist wanted an echocardiogram and stress test too. But I saw where many insurance companies here are requiring the extra testing/clearances.

Thanks! I'm going to assume things were ok because if not hopefully somebody would be getting me some medical attention by now lol.
All I have left to do to is my EGD and last NUT and weigh in on the 23rd then they submit to insurance.
I'm still trying to decide on which surgery though...such a hard decision!
Gosh... Dont get me started on the stress test! HA. True story...I felt like a complete piece of crap. No joke. I was like okay, I got this. I run at the gym for at least a mile without fail for like 20-30 minutes all the time. I got on the tredmill for the stress test and within 6 minutes I was D-O-N-E! I physically could not move anymore. (I do have edema in my legs / feet though). Super embarrassing too.
But the way the DR explained it to me was that they just need to see how your heart responds & how it recovers from it. My heart rate & blood pressure got up pretty high pretty fast but came right back down super fast too. The DR said I was absolutely fine & in fact I have less than a 1% chance of heart problems in the future.
I would give it a few days and call to get the results if they dont call you.. That way you're not beating yourself up about it. They wouldnt tell me my results at the testing date or over the phone, they made me go to their office for the results. Its okay though because I got the clearance letter at that time and gave it to my DR to save some time.

Just block comments from other users! I was thinking of doing the same but too chicken!

Some people's weight does go up and down a lot.. mine went up like 6lbs. But I would double check with the surgeon to see if it is ok. . Some insurance will deny if there is any gain at any point, and some will deny if there is a gain at the end of the diet.
-
Mclorrie you said you started the 6 month diet in Jan and this next month you're done??? That would only be 5 months. Does your insurance require 1 visit per 30 days or something different?
