  1. Yes' date=' I have been getting treated for back issues for years. Most recent MRI shows I need surgery. I see the doctor for fills next week. We will see what he has to say. Just keep waiting...which is something I suck at.[/quote']

I know what you mean i suck at waiting too... And sorry to hear about your back ive heard that back pain can make you miserable ... So is not loosing weight one week normal or are we supposed to loose steadily?

  2. Banded July 12 and have had 3 fills since then. Have not lost any weight since coming off the liquid diet. Matter of fact' date=' I've gained a few pounds. I am eating as much as I was before and hungry every 2 hours. I've resigned to the fact that I dropped 4 grand for a trip to Tijuana and didn't get to go to the beach; I had my lapband put in there.

Couple that with excruciating pain every time I stand up, it's hard to be in a good mood most days.

Good luck to you. I hope you find peace and happiness. Hey, maybe your just going through the stages of loss! Ha, I kill me![/quote']

I was banded in monterrey and i lost 16 pounds the first 2 weeks but today i weighed myself and i had gained 2 pounds so i kinda got worried i dont understand i hardly havent eaten anything but vegetables and liquid... Have you talked to anyone about your pain? I get pain every now and then but its very little im 99% pain free so i dont think the pain your describing is normal, also have you thought about another fill? Maybe thats what you need to control the hunger and keep loosing weight

  3. First fill next week I'm not excited about I either. I don't know why.?

Sent from Samsung galaxy tab using lapband talk

I kinda understand you, ive wanted this for years but now that i have it and loosing weight for some reason im not enjoying it, i feel sad most of the time and every time i see the scale going down i honestly dont get happy its like im not seeing anything new,,, i dont understand whats going on

  4. child please.....i get so many pm's from being calling me names and ms know it all and etc......so i know how it feels and wanted to leave this forum plenty......but that means those (ones who dont like me win).........support yourself first....that is all that matters.

    Yeah i guess your right

  5. I'm about a month post-op too and also very burpy/belchy. The Dr. and Nutritionist i have met with since my surgery said it's normal and mostly from the healing process.

They said it'll lessen' date=' but not go away.

    YMMV

    ~David.[/quote']

Even if it just lessens a little that would be awesome, I burp all day everyday honestly sometimes its embarrassing

  6. To answer the only question you asked' date=' yes you will be able to eat solid foods probably not everything you may want to eat and some days will be different then others. Just try it out you'll find stuff that works[/quote']

Thanks for the advice, i will do that and your right their days i can eat a little more than others but all in all im feeling good, no pain just weight loss

  7. i just wanted to add' date=' that missy and nana and were not mean/rude to anyone...i have been on this forum for over 14 months...and they are both quick to offer support guidance to anyone.......and yes, sometimes truth/reality hurts.....and its not nice to hear..

so call your doctor for any concerns/questions...

they are ones who should be your best friend.

do the best you can with what you have.

    all the best to you.[/quote']

Well you werent the one who was being attacked or ridiculed for not having a lot of info on your surgery it was me and they were mean so please just drop this im truly tired of this argument and sorry i ever wrote anything here if i would of known i was gonna be attacked and bullied i would of stayed far away from here oh and i was looking for support not a best friend

  8. Most insurance require them in the US' date=' they want to make sure the patient is full aware of what they are getting into and responsible, I guess they want to make sure they are getting a bang for their buck...

Surgeons don't care, they will gladly take anyone's money that are self pay, psych exams are not required with most self pays in the US.

Most surgeons in the USA don't tell the patient what band they have until AFTER the surgery, but usually the patient WILL KNOW in the hospital or during their first post op appointment.

My point to this poster was SHE SHOULD have gotten a post operative report BEFORE she left Mexico, many others do that have surgery in Mexico.

I've known a few people that had surgery in Mexico with reputable surgeons, and got their post operative report BEFORE leaving Mexico and they had a US surgeon lined up for their aftercare, THERE IS a BIG DIFFERENCE IN BEING RESPONSIBLE AND NOT RESPONSIBLE.[/quote']

But if i was or if i wasnt why are you making it such a big deal? Please look at yourself you are just arguing for the sake of it. This doesnt affect you at all its my surgery, my body, my life and money common lady your taking this waaay out of proportion

  9. Just on the point of psych evals' date=' most doctors in Australia don't require you to do them. Nor attend information classes, or see a nutritionist, do a supervised diet or anything in order to qualify for the band. These are not pre-requisites for success with the band, as I obviously am testament to.

I also didn't get a pre-operative report when I left hospital both times, with two different surgeons, and my first surgeon had been banding for 15 years and my 2nd surgeon for almost 2 decades. I didn't know what band I had until my first visit to my doctor both times (when I asked about it) and I don't think I've been at all irresponsible.[/quote']

Im gonna call my doctor first thing in the morning get all the info I can on my band, now I understand that i didnt get all the info i needed I was so happy I honestly didnt ask but im new to all this and have no one else to ask or talk to about it thats why i came here because i saw how nice and informative everyone else is here i never expected this arguing and bickering all i want is someone to talk to when i have a question or concern ... Ive been overweight all my life and before my surgery i was already taking metformin for pre diabetes and hypertension ever since i got it i have been fine with no need for medication and loosing a lot of weight so im very happy and wanna stay like this i truly dont need the stress these women are giving me

  10. You got support' date=' it may not have been rosey, but you got support, I did not yell or scream at you or call you names, I was just being honest, I've never heard of any surgeon in the last 15 years in the USA or Mexican performing any non-adjustable bands, so as concerned lap banders we had to call you out on this and let you know of the possible consequences.

Also in the US most insurance companies make people undergo a psych exam to make sure they are responsible to take care of themselves after weight loss surgery.

There are no rules in Mexico, I am sure they will perform weight loss surgery on anyone who have cash on hand, also it is your responsibility as an adult to know what was done to your body, most people who have surgery in Mexico are given some type of post operative report indicating what was done to them.

I can't believe you left Mexico without a pre operative report, you should know if you got a non-adjustable or a 4cc band, hopefully you are not that irresponsible.[/quote']

Well if I am or if im not it has nothing to do with you just drop it...

  11. Obviously you havent continued reading all the posts this argument got boring and its over you just wanna keep on arguing about something that honestly doesnt concern you It was my money and my body if i did wrong or not its already done And dont turn things on me yall were the ones who got rude first or may i remind you that you called it a mexican voodoo concoction? If yall had genuine concern yall would of been nicer to someone who got her surgery two weeks ago and not bombarded her with negativity scaring me to the point i was scared crying in my room or are you proud of that? I came here seeking support and information from nice compassionate fellow bandsters not a know it all who just wont quit.... Maybe you are very informed but to tell you the truth because of the way you conducted your self im honestly not interested in your opinion so please keep it to your self and leave me alone!

  12. I got banded this morning' date=' seems surreal! I was nervous because I had never been put under, but yesterday I had the egd done and got a taste of that, didn't remember a thing. At first my core muscles were very sore so sitting/standing/getting down and up or laughing was quite tender (of course) but the worst is the gas in my chest- the drugs make me tired so I'm moving as much as I can between naps :) I'm already feeling much better since this morning, like the wound sites aren't as sore and I'm getting around better...soon as I get rid of this gas all will be well, I'm not nauseous or hungry, just thirsty![/quote']

Good luck! I was banded two weeks ago and things are looking good ive lost 16 pounds and counting!
