  1. Just wondering how you are doing now.. this is me i lose so slow that any kind of water retention affects me on the scales.. I've seen some inches lost but that has also slowed.. my third fill is next week hoping that third time is the charm as well Bandister HELL is aptly named as i'm there right now feeling very discouraged and unhappy need to stay of the scale for a few days and just concentrate on being healthy...
  2. Hey Bandista.. can i just say one word for your troubles.... "IPAD"... lol sorry so not a fan of apple and all the hype that company generates.. i feel like we should just chant we are Borg you will be assimilated....
  3. Better yet, fix you and the hubbie some fish for dinner here is the ONLY way i would ever eat fish..... OMG that is hilarious.. i totally feel the same way about fish
  4. What a great post - you have gotten is so darn right I know it's crazy to compare what goes on in my life to what goes on in others. I am amazed by some of the losses on this site it gives me inspiration for what the future holds for me.. but at the same time it can cause me to be dang what is wrong with me why is my loss so small. thanks for posting
  5. Wow wish i'd found this topic before now. not sure how i missed it considering it's pinned I've had 2 fills now and have absolutely no restriction my third one is scheduled for next week. I can only lose weight when i follow the pre -op diet but can't maintain that for long and usually have a slight regain when i stop. the loss i saw during pre op was amazing and i have lost weight which is what helps to keep my head in the game.... but having read through the history of this post i can now repeat to myself this is normal and relax.. I am hopeful that i will find the restriction i'm looking for in the next few fills as it gets harder and harder to limit the amount of food i eat. i stay pretty much to the food plan and portion size but frequency of eating is increasing as my hunger takes over late in the day. if you have any articles on how to beat head hunger and food cravings i would love to see them.
  6. Yes i burb more now than i ever did before.. so much for them telling me that it would be an issue .. i say go with it.. that if any one says or looks at you just smile your biggest smile like you have a secret and your not telling...
  7. hey so i've had 3 fills with my 3rd scheduled for dec 3rd. 2013 I'm hoping all the 3's bring me good luck and i find the green zone. for the most part i can still eat how i want.working on smaller portions and trying to listen to when my body has had enough not what my head keeps telling me.. is so much harder than i ever thought i'm still struggling to lose weight i go up and down and it's driving me insane.. i know the band isnt' fully working yet but still get discouraged at times and question what have i done.. i'm down some where between 26 and 29 lbs depends on the day.. I should be happy..
  8. Just found this topic and WOW - You are a totally new person and beautiful thank you for sharing looking forward to my own transformation
  9. intelirish posted a blog entry in intelirish's Blog
So today i realized i have been banded now for a little over 2mts.. It feels like it has been a life time.. I keep telling myself i'm doing great.. that with time and patience the band will work for me as it does for others. I have lost weight and for the most part have kept it off.. However having had 2 fills i have yet to feel any true restriction and still can eat what i want. i just no longer eat large portions. Which i do count as a HUGE WIN for me. because my god could I eat before hand.... Every day is a struggle with hunger. it is so hard to not reach out for that second spoon full of what ever after i have already put my allotment for that meal on my plate. To not visit the vending machine to see what deliciousness is to be found..- Never had the urge before banding not sure where it has come from now wishing it would leave me now.... There have been times when i have gotten so hungry that i'm half way through before i remember i am banded and then freeze in fear that i have done something wrong. What keeps me going - The truly AMAZING wonderful people i have gotten to know through this site. The wonderful honest feedback, support and knowledge sharing the knowledge that eventually i will get the restriction i am looking for.. just have to keep the chin up and marching forward. I can do this
  10. what actually befuddles me is... not the portion size.. i get that.. it's how on Earth am i suppose to eat that little and hit my calorie goal for the day? i don't lose weight when i keep the portion small and don't snack like i was told to.. if i eat larger.. still tiny to me size portions and hit my calorie goal i do a little better.. over all this whole journey is still a struggle for me. i don't regret it but honestly had not expected to have to work this hard at it all
  11. Yes it was fun and am totally up for meeting up again...
  12. well i'll be the one with the shiny top easy to spot i think..
  13. totally agree this site is crazy feel like i've lost track of way too many folks keep ready posts from the other forums by mistake... things are going ok. i've had 2 fills with my third scheduled for dec 10th was trying to think how i could squeeze 2 in before the end of the year when my insurance starts over again for the year and i'll have to start paying out of pocket again for the fills. those things are PRICEY... mind you i really have not been hungry since my fill last week. haven't really eatn anything all that solid yet so not really sure what the restriction is like. so i'm hoping i'm close to where i need to be keep it going.. love it that your pants size has dropped we are so on the right road to the new us..
  14. Hey debbie i had the same problem i was eating the right food.. perhaps portion wise a little too much but total calories for the day averaged at 1100 which is below the 1300 which was recommended.. the scale stayed steady... so i stopped going to the gym for a few days.. and weirdly enough the scale moved downwards.. when i asked the NUT when i saw her tueday for my 2nd fill she said i most likely was not eating enough calories and that my body was holding on to everything.. working out is a new thing for me.. so perhaps you can do one of two things.. slow the work out down a little and keep the calories where they are or just increase them for a few days and see what the body tells you just remember you aren't alone every one of us will or had been through this with you.. you can and will get past this.. also make sure you are getting more than 60g of protien a day when you work out the body needs this to run well.
  15. Yes lucky for me i work about 15mins away from there and can take my lunch when ever i want
  16. LOVE IT.. i too had my found farewell meal.. it is funny how we all act like food will be gone for ever during the pre- ops but then are so pleasantly surprised that most foods can still be a menu option... I say option as most likely you will enjoy seeing the number on the scale drop WAY more than a slice of pizza that will only be with you for a moment.. eat it up.. don't eat after the appointed hour and enjoy.
  17. so are we all going to wear the same color? or stand in a corner and yell IRISH FLOWER where are you? kidding.. looking forward to meeting every one that wants to show up. though less on the kidding side how on earth will we know one another?
  18. I had my second fill yesterday which brought me up to a total of 7cc i'm hoping now that once i'm of the liquid and mushes that i will start to feel a lot more restriction and get that portion control that i've been looking for. The second fill couldn't have come any sooner as i was really on the verge of just letting it all go with the scale just staying steady.. getting the fill has given me new hope and once again i feel ready to tackle this weight loss of mine.. trick now is to stop weighing myself every day.. they where very happy with my progress so far and reminded me that slow and steady is really the best way to lose weight. so here's a YEAH for all of us on this board..
  19. Sounds like a plan how will we know each other .....
  20. umm depends on what kind of place we want to meet at.. i'm like umm. do we want to meet at a cafe/restaurant or some other type of place. My thought where to find a coffee/tea house that way folks could sit and chat.. and not have to worry about food. Will have to look around for some where. i know the wildflower bakery in chandler mall tends have groups that meet there as they have some large tables that can sit a bunch of folks but not sure if the location is suitable.
  21. Farewell size 20W I will not miss you much, You have been with me through the tough times, Welcome size 18W OH how I have missed you… I look forward to some good times..
