  2. My stepdaughter brought the black death into my house so I couldn't have walked away from the impending doom. My baby is sick too now as we both are up sniffling and coughing right now. ???? And a relaxed focused surge is the best kind to have! Good luck to you both! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  3. Just felt like posting my woe. My surgery for revision was for tomorrow but since I am sick it got postponed until the 30th. I guess I am happy I won't be coughing and have a sore throat during recovery, but this still sucks. Also I will be in full on stomach mode during Christmas on a liquid diet. I would have been on liquids anyways but at least with the motivation of sudden death to curb my appetite.....lol.....but seriously. Also, I did a whole pre op day of labs and ekg classes yada yada.....that were for nothing. Well, I hope at least some of the tests are still good until the 30th....Maybe?? Anyways woe is me. Shed a tear for my Christmas, but I guess I will literally be starting the New year on a good path now. End of my pity party. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  4. My NUT and surgeon say dont count calories, 60-90g Protein, 64oz liquids, less than 15g sugar, eat protein first then a produce and if any space left a little carbs but not until I am cleared for all foods and only 3 meals a day. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  5. Im allowed 2 shakes and a low carb dinner my first week of pre-op. If you are allowed to have regular food at all just stay away from breads/sweets/starches.....carbs. Im getting revision-sleeved Dec 16th, so my Xmas will REALLY SUCK...lol. but you may have some flexibility depending on the doctors orders. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  6. I have PCOS and PTSD (depression/anxiety)with current medications. They want to know that its under control, that you have a support system, not suicidal, homicidal lol....., have realistic goals for weight loss, are doing it to be healthy and be a part of a personal improvement goal, not as if this surgery will FIX you and make all problems go away. Fyi, my ringtone is a song that starts out saying "Are you insane like me" and of course I got a call in the middle of my psych eval. Luckily we both just laughed. Im getting sleeved Dec 16th. Good luck! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  7. Me too! Night hunger and getting sleeved Dec 16th. Next week is all shakes for me. Noooooooooo Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  8. These posts give me hope! Im getting revised from the band to the sleeve AND I have PCOS. Two fabulous reasons many say the weight loss is slower because of. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  9. 99 lbs on your own is amazing! Very inspiring! I get revised to a sleeve next week. I have lost 18lbs so far from my highest weight but I am whining like a baby about my 3 shakes a day week coming up! Now I have 2 shakes and a low carb dinner and I am already having hunger drama. I am seriously wondering HOW I will be able to do this post op! Im afraid of feeling like I am starving. Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  10. I have read about several people who didn't have a pre-op 1 or two week diet. Granted everyone's liver needs to shrink or lose enough weight to safely have surgery, but I was wondering if anyone didn't go on a Protein shake diet before surgery. Did it make adaptation to the post op diet very difficult? Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  11. Wow....sorry my phone posted that 100 times Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

  18. Pictures always depress me. No matter how good I feel, they are mind poison. Just accept that you wont look like that forever and 35lbs is awesome! Im 272 right now HW 291 and I know I don't look how I want but I get revision-sleeved soon and know that I will look hella better then and that I still look better than 291 now. Just keep your eyes forward and maybe dont weigh yourself for a week or 2....no distractions on your plan. Feel better! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App

  20. I used gas relief chews and i think they have dissolving strips now. I has terrible pain in my left shoulder. I was banded in 2009.....I will spare you the details, but I am getting sleeved soon......You WILL be able to eat again. STAY AWAY from things like overcooked meat, and for me french fries still get stuck, but REALLY embrace the small bites and massive amounts of chewing before you swallow. It will get better but it will remind you in a serious way if you eat to fast or dont chew enough. You will feel better though! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  21. Yes! A smack an idiot App! Sign me up! Sorry for your frustrating ordeal. I hate it when "know it alls" with a condescending attitude try to turn the screws on you over the phone. They have the disconnect power too. It sucks! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  22. And a long irritating minor issue is the "size-ism" at stores. To buy the exact same shirt in a plus size it tacks on a fat tax....or several dollars more. If it was the extra material, why isnt a size zero cheaper than a size 8? Can you imagine any other "illness" getting charged extra for the same product or service due to their health situation. Nobody understands OR cares about overweight or obese people. If you're anorexic you get sympathy and hugs and oh poor you, get help! Fat people are just "Gross. Why are you eating? Control yourself....." Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
  23. This is not the victim olympics or a contest about who is allowed to hurt the most. This is a WLS forum. So yes, people will delve deep into all manner of weight loss issues despite there being other things happening in the world. There is no need to marginalize or insult people for perfectly legitimate concerns, nor fall back into the tired old "millenial" generalization (which is one of the most inaccurate, backwards, ridiculous labels when you examine the facts). BP is not a hugbox, but that isn't a moral imperative to be a jerk. Placating and justifying someone's bad decisions is not the same as having a little compassion for someone terrified of the after-effects of weight loss. I don't view it as "trite" or "shallow" to be hesitant about weight loss due to excess skin. As women, we face a unique struggle in terms of our appearance. We are judged for what we are AND what we are not. We can feel unattractive and have rude comments made about our chubby cheeks, and be conversely nervous that we will have rude comments made about looking saggy, sallow-cheeked, and old (one of the biggest comments on the appearance of extreme weight loss folks is "they look so old now"). Yes, we all have health reasons, but I have a hard time believing many women who get WLS don't also crave feeling beautiful. In our society, beauty means power. Beauty means value. Beauty means avoiding the discrimination, bias, cruelty and dismissal that comes with inhabiting a large body. Should appearance mean these things? No. But that is the reality of the world we live in. We have all suffered so much under society's expectations of what we should and shouldn't look like, is it really a surprise people question the results? So many of us have deep issues with body image and self-loathing. We are accustomed to viewing ourselves as undesireable. Surgery, hard work, pain, sweat, tears, only to fear that you will still hate the person staring back at you in the mirror? Terrified you will never find love? Worried that you'll go from a "big gal" that some men say they prefer, to a scarred and wrinkled mess that you fear is no one's preference? That is not shallow. That is not trite. It is legitimate fear. And it can be overcome, but it takes work, time, love, and support. You don't need to kiss anyone's ass, placate, or justify anyone's delusions. You can always scroll past those threads. But damn, a little compassion wouldn't be remiss. **Edit: Check the forums for how many threads contain "my spouse/partner says they won't find me attractive anymore if I lose weight." YES!!!!!! 24. Yes! I am going to get sleeved on the 16th. It doesn't seem really REAL yet. Im not overly anything about it. I hope it changes. I want to be excited and happy! Sent from my SM-J700P using the BariatricPal App
