    Ugh....here we go again.

Well, I for one, don't want to spend the rest of my life eating: 3 slices of dry toast, "green juice," a banana, and a salad with a boiled egg........EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE......... B O R I N G !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To each his own......... But, this old girl wants to enjoy my small amounts of tasty, healthy food, with occasional treats, including a piece of fried chicken!!!!!!!

Taking my band out for lunch....

Well, I can't wait to see if I ever feel the same way, B-52. I'm starting to think of all of my other failed attempts at MAINTENANCE over the past two times of losing 100 pounds (both times in my 20's), and to be honest, I'm a little scared..... Scared that I will manage to screw it up ONE MORE TIME!!!!!! Hopefully, the band will be the band will be the band........ Hopefully!

    Fun Fall Foods

I whip softened low fat cream cheese, canned pumpkin, vanilla, and stevia. I top with a dollop of sugar free cool whip. I place in individual clear glass cups. It's like a pumpkin cheesecake parfait.

No weight lost. Is this normal?

My suggestion is to not weigh so often, if you can't handle daily fluctuations and periodic stalls and plateaus ..... Weigh once every two to three weeks. You will see a weight loss.
  11. Thanks to Who Dat, I've finally learned how to post pictures . ........ I guess an OLD DOG CAN LEARN NEW TRICKS !!!!!!

What Every Weight Loss Surgery Candidate Should Know

What I wish I would have known prior to surgery, but did not believe was......that I would have such body dismorphic images as I lost the weight. I did not realize how hard it would be to see myself as a normal weight being. By not being prepared for that, it makes it hard for me to SEE the progress I am truly making. I do get a glimpse into reality about my body when comparing PICTURES, but still struggle seeing it in the mirror. I think I also had unreasonable expectations about what is considered "good/healthy" weight loss on a monthly basis. I thought the weight would drop off more quickly, and that one to two pounds a week (four to eight pounds a month) seemed way too slow....... It really wasn't until after I had the surgery, when going to monthly doctor's appoinments that I came to lower my PERSONAL EXPECTATIONS and find a more REALISTIC EXPECTATION.

Motivation need to get rid of that last 60 pounds

I've always read to try to CHANGE IT UP...... be it with the eating, alternating high and low calorie days, a change in a workout routine........ In other words, don't have a ROUTINE......change it up. Set smaller, more manageable goals..... Like, drop the next five pounds or the next pant size. Journal feelings on where you were, where you are now, where you want to be. Best wishes!!!!!! TAMMIE

What's your favorite mode of movement (exercise)?

I like the elliptical and the ARC trainer. ...... Great calorie burn, and easy on the joints. I've worked up from 10 minutes a day to an hour and ten minutes a day!

OK, so what's going on? Not losing.

The way I see it ...... I gained 5 to 6 pounds a year for 30 years...... I am THRILLED to lose 5 to 6 pounds a month..... And you are averaging better than that. I quit weighing altogether at home. I only weigh at my doctor's office. I have hit two stalls or plateaus. I can feel your frustration. But, I have noticed, that once the stall breaks, the weight starts rolling off again. I was banded in August of 2013, so the year before you. I'm guessing you are not in the GREEN zine yet. It took me over seven months to get there, and that elusive zone has left me twice once I though I achieved it. The band needs constant readjustment for some people; others never need a fill and are in the GREEN from day one. Another way I kick start weight loss after a stall is by changing up something in my exercise routine or my eating routine. It does seem to work. Best wishes.

4 Months post op - Need some exercise help

This is an older person responding....... I quit setting "I want to lose 'so many" pounds by THIS date or THAT date." Does it really matter if you lose 40 pounds by NYE or only 20 pounds by NYE? I have finally started to focus on living and doing my best, and less on reaching a goal weight by a certain date..... with all that being said, I'd maybe add daily CARDIO for calorie burn. Try including HIIT's. Best Wishes!
