  1. @Cherry31 you go girl. sound like you are doing the right things. Just to let you know I will be coming to you when I get to that point.

I am trying and its no where near as hard as my mind thought it would be. That's the great thing about this site is the SUPPORT from others that keep you motivated and moving in the right direction!! Good luck on your journey as well!!

  2. If you were just banded Wednesday - how did you get Gas-X down? Are they chewable? I am getting banded on the 19th ...maybe I need to get some. You sound as if you are doing really well. And you didn't talk about the pain - so it must not of been that bad. I am planning on sitting around and watching tv the day after I am banded and getting up to take short walks around house during the commercials

They have GasX strips that dissolve on your tongue

  3. I had my surgery on Wednesday. I feel like it went well. I had some more intense discomfort last night when the gassy feeling decided to make itself the center of my attention. So' date=' GasX and a heating pad became my best friends. I've about worn out the carpet in my house! I did make it outside today to walk a little. Good luck in your recovery![/quote']

I was a little gassy but I had my gasx strips ready for me. Its not as painful as I thought it would be. This is actually very light to the last surgery that I had 2 yrs ago. I have been getting around fine and haven't had any pain meds today. I actually got outside for a few today along with driving. My Doctor told me the best way to deal with the gas is by moving around so I do feel the difference when I'm not moving around. Hope you have a speedy recovery as well.

  5. Hi there! I am having surgery on September 12th and I totally understand what you are saying. One second I am super happy and the next I get nervous. I really think it is the food addict in me saying "If I can't eat' date=' what am I going to do?". I think it will be a real mental challange. How is your pre op diet going?

I just keep motivating myself. I was in a clothing store yesterday looking around at my current size clothing, size 16. All of sudden I just stopped and said to myself "What are you doing? You are never gonna wear this size again." How exciting! I can't wait to be healthier and NOT tired!!!![/quote']

I see that we have the same thinking process about shopping for clothing right now. I was just about to buy some pants yesterday but put them back once I started thinking about my upcoming surgery. My pre-op diet is going well. I'm actually surprised at myself but I started super early on it so that my body could be ready for sure. I'm eating right and working out daily as usual. My health is my focus also and not the size. I got faith in us both that we will be a wonderful success story!!

  6. I'm scheduled for September 11. So, we can be buddies :) I'm excited and terrified all at the same time. But, this forum is awesome. I've learned so much here. So, while I'm scared, I'm confident that I can do it. We can handle this :)

Only one day apart :o I totally agree that this is a awesome forum. I really love positivity in any situation and that is all I see along with some great motivators.

  7. Hello everyone! I have been on my journey for this procedure since June and the time is almost here. My surgery is set for September 12, 2013 and the closer the date gets here, the more my nerves set in. I have been struggling with my weight my entire life and decided that I had to do something. My weight is causing health issues with my back, my knees, and my ankles. I decided to take this route since everything else I have tried didnt get me where I need to be. I just have fears about all surgical procedures. I'm trying to stay positive and was looking for friends and plenty of advice on the way. So far I'm finding this site to be very helpful and answering a few of my questions. I have so many in my head though..like..how long will I be out from work? Will I be able to keep any food down? How will I get all of my Protein intake? How much pain will I be in? When can I start back working out??..the list goes on and on. As I'm reading, I'm finding the answers to some of these questions but I also know everybody is different and will recover from the surgery differently. Countdown begins...I have 1 week and 6 days...Ready for this lifestyle change....
