I just posted a thread this afternoon about having to have the bypass revision from the sleeve for GERD reasons...I have bypass surgery scheduled for tomorrow. I eat the right foods and avoid the wrong ones, even have been on liquids for 3 days and still have terrible reflux.

I am researching as much as I can on this subject as we speak, but as I've read so far, "gastric bypass is an anti-reflux surgery and in many cases can cure GERD". And in many cases when you mention that you have had reflux (which in my case I never did until I had the sleeve surgery) surgeons will persuade against doing the sleeve and recommend the bypass for that reason alone.

Right after surgery I had a large hematoma so they did a repair/surgery on that and sent me home after 4 days in the hospital with a drain for another week. Then about 6 weeks later I had an EGD with a balloon dilation for a stricture and thats about when the onset of the reflux/gerd started, although I had been on dexilant since the original surgery. They then switched me to aciphex. Then last Friday, after 3 months of constant complaining about the reflux and changing my meds again to Nexium and taking Tums/Rolaids like candy, they did another EGD and balloon dilation and put me on all liquids to see if my symptoms subsided...which they did not. So after a long conversation with my Dr. about this today we will be doing surgery tomorrow for the revision. Regarding the pain, my pain is in my stomach, like fire, and in my throat, and I am throwing up about 3-4 times a week. Plus every night I wake up or can't sleep from the feeling that it's all coming back up my throat...sorry if this is too much information, but I don't have any pain on my right side...

Hello all...I am scheduled for a gastric sleeve revision to gastric bypass tomorrow because of extreme gerd/reflux and every other option has not worked. I was sleeved originally December 13, 2012, have lost 58.6 pounds and have had several complications/procedures done since then. I'm looking for someone else who's had a revision to a bypass and not by choice but by lack of other options.

I am also on topamax for a preventative and relpax when I get one but I'm also happy to say I haven't had one since surgery either! I have suffered with migraines since childhood so I am very happy about that!

Mine's really bad...going to the doc tomorrow for my monthly check up about it. I've taken several different medications for it and nothing ever seems to help and I pop tums like candy. I think my doc may consider sleeve to bypass revision to get control of it...I'm a little worried about that...but on the other hand I'm so miserable on a daily basis that I'll take whatever relief I can get.

I was sleeved 12/13/12 and I am always fatigued. I have complained about this alot and I also take b12 injections once a week. Also I have been taking iron and d3 supplements and have taken b1 injections. I see my doctor on wednesday, as I have been seeing him once a month since surgery because of fatigue and major acid reflux, so I will be letting him know again how tired I am.

I have lost 1/2 to a whole size in my shoes but the best thing I have noticed about my feet so far is that they don't hurt! I was able to walk around all day, 10:30 am - midnight on Sunday, at Six Flags and they didn't hurt at all! Also I can wear 4 in heels without hurting at all too!

I've taken dexilant and it didn't work for me, personally. I've also taken aciphex and nexium and neither of those worked for me either. Acid reflux is my enemy and I see the dr. for it again on the 24th...I suffer horribly. I think I've read other threads where you're also having problems, is that right?

Biotin pill, chewable centrum multivitamin, chewable calcium citrate, liquid D3, Iron pill, B1 Injection, B12 injection...I don't think mine is the norm though.

Every. Single. Day....its an obsession.

Yay me! I made my Easter Challenge before Easter!!! I actually beat it by .6 pounds today...still have a few days to lose.

Lucky! I just had my 3 month check up and labs and I am low in Iron, D3, Calcium, Protein, B1 and B12! Taking supplements of all of them except the B1 and B12 and I am taking injections of those. Funny because the B1 is usually related to alcoholism but I don't even drink! These are all reasons why I've been feeling so crappy lately though...really fatigued!

Any news or updates on your situation? I ask because I have been told I have a b1 deficiency and its severe enough to warrant b1 injections daily for the next week to ward off any more of my symptoms, such as major chronic fatigue, depression, and just general mild mental issues.

I'm going to chime in too...my goal for June 1 will be my goal weight of 145...my stats are: Surgery date Dec 13, 2012 Surgery weight 218.2 Current weight 172.0 Goal weight June 1 145 Total pounds to lose 27 Wish me luck, I'll need it!

Well, these would be my words exactly...except for the part about the thyroid issues, I don't have any thyroid issues...but everything else is me to a tee. I have absolutely no energy to do anything whatsoever, barely a shower, and thank goodness I only work 2 days a week. I take have done blood work lately, and they told me I am low on D3, Iron and B1...so I guess that's the reason I am soooooo tired and drained. I have included these supplements in my diet since Monday, but how long will it take for me to feel better and with more energy? I'm so sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired.
