  1. Hey Laura...great to hear from you! Great profile pic too by the way! I need to do one of those, but I'm one of those people who hate taking pics so I have no pics post op! . Well I'm doing ok I guess...still have the burning from the ulcer and my doctor is still reluctant to do the EGD. So until then I'm doubled up on meds and potassium cuz I'm still low on that too. Even then I don't know what they can do for me so it looks like I'm where I'm gonna be for a while. It's kinda frustrating, well really frustrating to be honest. I'm maintaining my 130lb weight which is good and at least I'm not losing any more but I'm not getting all my Protein in or all my liquids but I try. And I'm only tolerating certain foods so I get sick of them...I've had diarrhea for over 2 weeks so dehydration is a problem too. Anyway enough about all my problems...I miss being on here as much...and I miss reading all your posts! Thanks for asking about me!

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

Ok well to be honest again...I've had so many problems since the bypass too that I'm afraid that I've caused myself a lot of problems and possibly shortened my life span?? Idk, I worry about all of that now that my life has completely been turned upside down since December...I can't even work! I had problems with both, now I have an ulcer and they can't do an EGD cuz it's too early...and they've doubled my meds, and it's not helping much, haven't been able to eat either. The weight loss was great, 88 pounds total since December, couldn't have done it without, it makes you wonder...doesn't it...if it's worth it?

    August Post Ops

Mz. Shay, I thought all along you had the same symptoms and sounded just like me. I also have what the dr believes to be an ulcer, I had it before they did the sleeve to bypass revision, but my symptoms are far worse now then they were...I've been in and out of the hospital every week since I had my bypass 6 weeks ago and my dr doesn't want to scope me so soon after surgery either. We are waiting until next week to make my EGD appt and in the meantime, I am on 60 mg of dexilant twice a day, to help with symptoms, but I can't eat either. Not to mention, I have had diarrhea for over 1 1/2 weeks and have hypokalemia (low potassium)...things are rough!!! I totally know where you're coming from. Let us know what the next steps are for you and I'll do the same and maybe together we can come up with something to make us feel better!

    SLEEVE TO BYPASS REVISION

I am 6 weeks out today and I am just now starting to lose weight again...I haven't lost a pound in 3 weeks, but to be completely honest I didn't want to. I was one of those who had the sleeve to bypass revision at goal weight. Since then I'm down to 130 and I'm 46 years old. I didn't want to lose anymore weight anyway so I'm afraid to go back into the weight losing mode now. Be patient...the weight will start coming off, from what I've read thru posts and online, it's a stall and the weight loss will prevail.

    Any Band converters under........

I'm not a band revision to rny but I am a sleeve revision to rny and at the time of my surgery 6 weeks ago, I weighed 145 lbs. I now weigh 130 lbs...I had to do the rny for acid reflux reasons...I worry about losing too much with the rny all the time.

    Sleeve to rny

I'm a sleeve to bypass revision...sleeved 12/13/12 and rny 8/16/13...mine was for extreme GERD/reflux reasons...I'm past my goal weight of 145 at 133 currently...I was told by my dr that I needed to wait 6 months before he would do the revision, and I was his first sleeve to bypass.

    August Post Ops

I had surgery on August 16, so tomorrow it will be 4 weeks. I still feel like I have days where I've been hit by a truck...some days where I want to sleep the day away...some days where i don't want to eat or drink anything...but days where I'm so happy with my weight loss that it takes all that other away. Today is one of those days! Now....if i could just get all my water in, and if my blood pressure would stay up so I didn't feel like I was gonna pass out all the time, so I could stay out of the hospital and keep from taking IV fluids for a change-- THAT would be great!
  9. I was also sleeved December 13, 2012 and reached my goal weight before I was revised to the RNY on August 16th for GERD/reflux reasons. My surgery weight was 218.2 and my goal weight was 145 but I was 140 when I had my RNY surgery in August. Since then I am 133. The sleeve was great for me weight-wise, but I did have several complications so as long as you go into it knowing that there are risks no matter which route you choose, and research, research, research, and trust your surgeon completely, you will do great. Any time I can answer any other questions for you, let me know. I wish you well! Niki
  10. Hello...I'm new to this site because I'm a sleeve to bypass revision (sleeve 12/13/12 and bypass 8/16/13) due to extreme gerd/reflux. Just the day before yesterday I felt like you all described and I saw my dr. yesterday and he also confirmed I had a torn abdominal muscle. He recommended that I wear an abdominal binder and that has helped tremendously. I no longer have to hold my whole left side when I get up/down or walk. It feels so much better today. Hope yours does too!

    August Surgery List complete

Hello everyone, I am new to this site. I had surgery on 8/16 but I am a sleeve revision to bypass for gerd/reflux reasons. It'll be 2 weeks tomorrow and I am still in some pain (tore abdominal muscles post surgery) but it seems to be getting better everyday.
  12. Ok I'm not the doctor nor do I know all of what was done to me exactly but this is what the surgeon said yesterday (and i wish i could show you the picture he drew to demonstrate). He went in and divided my sleeved stomach into two portions: a much smaller (and really small considering they already did the sleeve) upper portion, and then a larger lower portion where the pyloric valve and all the acid making portions of the stomach are. He then resected some of my intestines and attached it to my smaller upper stomach, which they call a pouch, by stapling. Then the acid making portion of my stomach (this is really layman's terms cuz I don't know any other way) which is the lower part still is connected to my intestines where it was orginially making the acid empty down into my intestines and not go up into my esophagus where it was before with the reflux, and heartburn, indigestion and whatnot. I don't know if this helped explain any or not but that's how it was explained to my husband and I.
  13. That made me smile...you'll get there! I had help believe me...doing it being sick isn't the best way to do it. I just have to take care to maintain around 140 and then not lose or gain any...it really will be like walking a tight rope. Anyway, thanks for all the encouragement...I will keep you posted on the infection...it's really scary when you really think about it and all your insides and what they've already been thru without a freakin' infection!
