  1. I am grateful that I have my family and this site. I have been MIA for awhile and I've gained back a little weight, but I'm back today and starting my journey all over again with the help of old friends on here. Today I went to the gym, I dusted off my Fitbit and logged back on to my fitness pal. I started shakes and drinking my Water. ♥️ you all and this site! Jami

  2. 1. When you think about eating something before you eat it.

    2. When everytime you have get togethers someone comments on how much more weight have you lost.

    3. You can wear spandex lol - (yoga pants) & you don't look like a stuffed sausage.

    4. You don't have to wear jackets or cardigans to cover up all those bulges.

    5. Your pants are longer.

    6. When a random guy on the street says "nice ass" lol (true story :) )

  3. Recently hurt my back for almost 2 years now which I'm not allowed any physical activity other than normal everyday activities. This is the biggest I've ever been at 193 lbs on a 5ft 3in frame I suffer from osteoarthiritis , degenerative disc disease and buldging neck discs. My question is this enough to qualify me for gastric bypass at bmi of 35??

Well you could check with your insurance/doctor to see. Your back problems could subside with some weight loss. I think you should look into it. I wish you the best of luck!

  5. 1. Five incisions - they are tiny. You don't notice them that much.

    2. Takes time - you are not going to get to goal overnight! It's a process - you will have plateaus where you won't lose any weight, but you will lose inches. My plateau lasted about 3 months - then poof started losing weight again. I was under the assumption that you would just be continually losing weight and that's not the case.

  6. Ok ... You are at the right place first off! All of us (either before or after surgery) have had these same feelings! Don't be embarrassed for the way you feel buying new clothes!

You need to start right now - not tomorrow or the next day - right now! Make the appt with your doctor/ nutritionist. Go to the store - buy yourself: egg whites, fresh veggies, grilled chicken, some easy Protein that is easy and quick for you. Start drinking Water. Take some walks. Do this until you can get to the doctor. I'll bet you need a fill.

You have a food addiction, just like I do. I was 5'6and 250 pds before I started this journey. I have failed sometimes too. I have lost 65 pounds to date. I do my best most days, but sometimes I backslide. You are human! You are going to be ok .., shake yourself off, stand tall wipe those tears, and just do your best! Stay away from your weaknesses in food! Don't even try a little bit - you have to eliminate your food weaknesses. If it's Cheetos, fried chicken, French fries, sweet tea or whatever - you can't bring them to your house or on your plate. You just can't. There are some things that I cannot even look at or smell (I'm serious)- Pasta, pizza, sweets - I can't even!

We are all here for you ... You all are here for me too! Next month I could be writing for support, just like you or anyone else on here :)

  7. Hey everyone! So, I've had a set back. My kidneys are NOT cooperating and to top it off I have something new (bad new) going on with my back. MRI is scheduled for the 24th. I'm not a happy panda. :*( I'm doing good to walk most days lately. Anyway, on a positive note, my daughter had her baby on the 16th at 2:35 am. 8lbs. 2oz. 19 inches long. Sweetest thing I've ever laid my eyes on. I even got to cut the cord! Keep me in your thoughts. Dialysis makes me deathly ill and I'm much too young to have the back I've got. I wanna RUN!! But reading everyone's posts on this thread keeps me motivated to get there. You all are Killing It!! Happy Hump Day!!

    Feel better soon!

  8. I'm not sure why people just can't be geniunely happy for each other, but they can't. I think most of us has had someone who has treated us differently after finding out that we either had wls or going to have wls.

Do what makes you happy. If your "friend" really cared about you - they'd be happy for you. Its really sad that it had to come to such a stupid reason.
