hi maziemommy, all my paperwork, tests, etc. was submitted to the surgeons office four weeks ago and I have not received any feedback yet to see when I will be scheduled. the waiting is getting kind of frustrating as I thought I was to be banded in March. I never thought I would be entertaining on Easter that is for sure. I am going to call the surgeons office tomorrow and see what is happening to my file, insurance approval, etc. I might order some unjury so I will let you know how it tastes. I am glad to hear that you are doing great. I am looking forward to watching your progress. How much have you lost so far?? shelli:) :help:

Hi Maziemommy: Thanks for the recipe - it sounds really good! How are you doing with your new band? How are you feeling? Have you heard anything about unjury Protein? They passed out samples at our last support meeting and it tasted pretty good. I am considering ordering some online today or tomorrow. Have a nice Easter! shelli

    getting worried

hi horns10 - I am pre-op too and I have the same feelings as you do. I am scared I won't be able to make the changes too so its good to know that I am not the only out there that has these feelings. I know I want to do it and I'm scared of any complications that not following the post op diet might do so I am determined to follow my doctors instructions to the T. Please know that you are not alone with your feelings and if you need help just write. Take care! shelli

Right kidney - lower back pain?

Sounds like a question for your doctor. One guy in our class kidney's shut down and he ended up back in the hospital with dehydration. Don't mean to scare you but call the doc and be safe. Hope you feel better soon.

    My turn -- I've slipped

Alexandra, I am so sorry to hear that your band has slipped and you have to go back in to surgery. I will be praying for you and the outcome you hope for. You are such an inspiration to us pre-ops. Take care!
  8. If I had to do it over again I would not tell anyone, other than my dh, son, and mother that I was going to have it done. I should have learned this from when I was always trying to lose weight on diets before. DH family is so negative about anything and everything. Plus then you don't have people looking at you trying to figure out if it is working or not. Oh well live and learn. Diet Sabotage can be frightening. Psychologist said some well intentioned people might feel threatened if you are not the biggest person in the room anymore - can you imagine. good luck on your new adventure
  9. hi katsuflw, it really is a breeze those tests. i hate hospitals and any kind of tests but i just make up my mind that i had to do it and it wasn't as bad at all. even the dreaded upper gi was a breeze. i guess it is true that life is what you make it good luck and take care shelli

  12. Hi! I am pre-op and wondered if anyone would like to share any post-op complications they might have experienced. I am trying to learn as much as I can about lap banding. Have a great day today - the sun is finally shining in Erie PA.:clap2: :biggrin1:

    Post-Op Complications???

Hi badonkadonkbutt!!! I am from Fairview!!! I go to Dr. Ali at Hamot! He is awesome!!! I started this process back in late August 06. I just completed my six months of diet with my family doctor and now am waiting to hear if I am approved and when they will schedule my surgery. I thought I would have the surgery in at the end of March but i have not heard anything for 3 weeks now. Now I am hoping for April. Have you been to any of the support group meetings. I really recommend these as you learn something new every time. There is a lap band support meeting the second Wednesday in April. You will love Dr. Ali - he is such a gentlemen!!! Great to meet you - will keep you posted as to my surgery date.

    Awesome Lap-Band Article!

Yep, he followed all the rules. You are doing great too. This website is really helping me - everyone in our area does the gastric bypass thing and there are not too many lapbanders to get support form. Relatively new to our area. Thank you for all your help. Just out of curiousity can you tell me how much it cost in Mexico???

    Post-Op Complications???

Hi kuebel j, demsvmejm, and gayletx!!! Thanks for the replies. kuebel j I am sorry to hear that your band slipped but I am really glad to hear that you are feeling better!!! Demsvmejm I have heard alot about that gas pain. It is very common and you were wise to stay in the hospital overnight. Many of our lapbanders go home the same day but i hope I can stay over one night. The insurance pays for two to three I think. Gayle TX - What is Protonic???
  19. Wow! I had the following tests: Nuclear Stress Test, Two EKG's, Pulmonary Test, Chest X-Ray, Blood Work, Psychological Evaluation, and Upper GI. I thank my lucky stars(and GOD) that all my tests came out normal. My BMI is over 50 and I am ready to roll. Beachgirl - you are really lucky!!!
  20. Thanks for your reply-didn't know if anyone else was up at this hour. Did you have to wait along time for your surgery once your info was submitted to your insurance company. I have been waiting for four weeks and I am anxious to have the surgery. I have been trying to keep busy with spring cleaning and trying to lose a little more weight before the big day and started a walking program too. I am learning so much from reading these posts. :nervous
