I had my surgery on Oct.10th. I am on mushy food right now. I have been hungry but just sticking to what I am told. Today I was hungry. Ate my half cup mushed chicken and apple sauce. Still not feeling satisfied had a few bites of mashed potatoes. Worried I stretched the pouch. Am I being crazy paranoid? ?I think u r yes.. I know all providers are different, but here in the uk we don't have the half cup rule, just eat untill your satisfied but not full..
Untill restriction and mush u eat will slip threw the band so u should be fine, as long as u r only eating the foods your directed to..
Good luck x

Please take control... U should always know what goes in and what goes out...
This is your body and your band, your doctor should be completely led by your requirements (obviously within reason) and your needs not what suits him... I would find it completely disrespectful if my Dr didn't inform me every step of the way..

I have never felt full with the band....i simply do not' date=' and cannot eat anymore....it is as though I walk around all day long with the "Mental" thought, feeling, that I have jus finished a 5 course meal, even if I have not eaten anything since the day before....The band tells my brain I am full, MENTALLY...so I do not have an interest in eating, or food....so no hunger or cravings....my tatstes have also changed...things do not taste the way the used to and after one bite I spit it out....
can you recall, say at a Thanksgiving dinner, where you ate so much that when someone put another slice of pie in front of you you waved it off and said you cannot possibly eat another ounce? Well, I have that feeling all day long, menatlly not physically, 24 hours a day.....
But you were just banded this month.....it took me a few months and a few good fills to get to that point....and even then I had to learn to understand and adapt to what was happening.[/quote']
I so look forward to that feeling...

Seriously... I do meeting on an almost daily basis in work as a nurse, and I am finding I am having to shout to be heard Over the sound of my own stomach... I can hear it growling "please louise, were r my pies, crisps and chocolate, feed me, feed me" It's like a baby, I have tried to ignore it, but it's trying every trick in the book!! Just as I am about to speak with a doctor or a patients relatives.. It shouts out "feed me or I will embarrass you" Some times a rubble, so loud the other day, the kids thought it was storm.. Sometimes a screech or a loud burb, anything to distract me and get my attention!! It's even started growing during love making!! But I tell you now stomach growly monster, u have had your fair share of pies, crisps and chocolate, In fact more then most have in a life time, well the funs over, so you can growl, scream and cry all you want, this lady ain't for giving in!

I got a fill yesterday and it took the loverly nurse 4 attempts before she could get it.. She needs to do me sitting up as the port move sideways when I lay down.. I'm Only 150lb so my port pops out!!
Luckily I am numb in the port area from the operation, so have no pain at fills,
I don't think I would be to happy waiting that long.

I was also told that it can stretch your pouch, as the fluids can sit above the food!?

If u google Ketosis and the effects of periods u may get an answer, periods do stop in periods of "starvation" but should return soon enough without problem...
But I ain't no expert. X

I was banded 7/26/13. Starting with a BMI of 31.8. My weight pre-surgery was 163. I am now weighing in at about 149.I got my first fill on 8/28/13. Doctor put 4cc's in at surgery...and my fill added 1cc. So I am up to 5cc's. I am defintely eating much less and feeling satisfied for about 4 hours...but scale isn't moving.
Okay' date=' so I have a question. Is this good progress? I just want to make sure I am on the right track. I feel like I am not losing much weight. I realize that starting with a smaller BMI, weight loss is going to be much slower! I already know that. I just would have expected to have lost more than 14 pounds. However, I can definitely tell in my pictures that I take weekly that I am losing inches somewhere...LOL but it is just depressing that the scale isn't moving.
I have been working out. I have been getting on the treadmill and doing weight loss intervals burning anywhere from (430-450 calories in about 40 minutes) 3-4 days a week.
Could not eating enough/ or drinking enough Water hinder weight loss?
Any insight would be extremely helpful!!!
Thank you in advance![/quote']
We are very similar, I had surgery 23rd July and weight was 165, bmi 29, had 4.5 in at op, and two fills since taking me to 6cc in 10cc band.
I now way 151, it's been 7 weeks, I am really happy with my progress, 10lb in the first month, and 4lb in the last 3 weeks. All good..

Hiya, I was banded 7 weeks ago, and had my second fill yesterday.
Had 4.5cc in on day of op, then another 0.5cc at first fill and 1cc yesterday, taking me to 6cc in a 10cc band.. To early to tell yet but I'm hoping to be at green zone, mostly because I have a cruise in 3 weeks and don't wanna eat my way through the ship..
Lost 14lb today which is 40% of what I want to loose... All good to date.. X
My question is does the restriction build over a few days or should it be felt straight away?

I've been a mental health nurse for 12 years (in the uk) and hearing this unnecessary suffering is very very sad..
Go the doctors sweetheart he can help, just a short term course of antidepressants to help you through, the next few months will be difficult, you have been through surgery and have lost your best friend (food) maybe that was your crutch when feeling down and fed up..
Just give yourself time, u will come out the other side, happier and healthy but in the mean time, no more suffering in silence..
God bless you xxxx

I do wish u the best of look, as I do with all my dieting buddies... However I can't help but be a little frustrated with your post...
Is it not the case with most lap band cases that the person has no problem loosing the weight?, (in fact many saying they have lost and regained 100lb plus a few times over)
Had you not tried dieting yourself before booking in for a lab band?
Again I do wish you the best of luck, but please don't see yourself as an elitist (doing this by yourself) banders are not cheats nor is it easy. Be careful how you word your posts a this is a lab band forum after all...
Maybe post in 6 months hay, give us an update then!

Opening a can' date=' leaving in the fridge for hours... Sound exactly like a drink I would bring BACK to the counter and kindly ask for it to be replaced with ANYTHING that's not flat. I could NEVER drink a flat sofa. Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Might as well drink straight up high fructose corn Syrup and add color to it.[/quote']Ooh I could never drink a flat sofa also!!

Everyone is different Laurie, I have 6.5cc in a 10cc band, and mostly feel green, but at times I'm hungry so now I need a little more fill...
Don't worry it just takes some people a little more.
Good luck.
Plus what size is your band?
