  1. Hi folks! Let's get this thread going...I would love a group where we can all talk about what's going on post op.
  2. They have different thread groups farther down from the pre and post op thread titles. Scroll down and you'll see monthly vsg title. Then click on the year and then oct.
  3. I would love a sleeve buddy! We should start a thread in the October 2013 for us as keep it going there...I'm not on Facebook, so I can't do the whole secret group on there. :-)
  4. Hang in there! When I started my pre op diet, I felt great days 1/2. 3-5 however were an entirely different story. I took a ton of hot baths, and knitted a lot. I did what it took to pull threw those days. Today was day 14 of my pre op diet. I have tomorrow as last day of pre op diet, then is have one Clear liquids day. What pulled me threw was knowing that I was laying the ground work for better health. I wanted to be in the best shape by having my liver shrink as much as I could possibly get it. I've had ups and downs the last 14 days...it takes more mental work than the average person could possibly muster up. Stay strong and think of your health! One last word, be kind to yourself during this time. My usual stamina has vanished...learn to stop and rest. :-)
  5. So, I ended up changing to my usual Vitamin, but they have it in liquid form. Much happier with that and I feel better about it compared to that junky sugary garbage. Thanks everyone!
  6. Your so right! I just want to get on with the show already. Feel Ike it's been weeks since I've had anything but a Protein shake.
  7. I'm on Tuesday at 1pm. Getting a little more nervous.
  8. Be honest with your surgeon and hospital about what you ate! My hospital has called me daily to ask how my pre op diet is going. I have surgery Tuesday. They've been calling daily to offer support but to also get detailed info if I have slipped. I have not slipped and today is day 14 for me.
  9. My nut said, anything you can see threw and that has calories. She said for these days, you need the calories to keep going. My clear day is Monday, got Gatorade (approved by my nut)and a couple juices. Didn't think about the isopure tho, which I have.
  10. I feel the same way. I've felt so thirsty but can not quench it. I think I finally figured out that it's because we haven't had real food in our mouths...the real food triggers the saliva to appear to help break it down inside our tummies. I've got 2 more dreaded days of shakes and then a clear day. I can no longer handle regular Water right now. Been drinking lots of propel zero lately. C'mon Tuesday!
  11. I had to make some today and keep them in my fridge...I work on site where I live, so I'm always in and out and on the go. Today, I had to work an event in another building and knew I'd have to bring a few with me. I just shook it up before drinking it and it was fine. It can be done. It's totally not a big deal. Give it a try, what can it hurt!
  12. There are a couple here that are allergic to the whey Protein...I'm thinking they said that here is a slim choice, but there are a few out there. That said, I did a quick search and found rice protein, hemp protein, pea protein, flax protein, egg white protein, Brazil nut protein and goat milk protein. If you have a natural foods store, or whole foods, head over tomorrow and get some packets to try. If I mix my afternoon shakes with my soy milk, I get nauseous. But my first shake of the day has the soy milk or else I feel starved. I noticed a routine for myself. I have two shakes a few hours apart when I first get up, but once afternoon rolls around...I can't take in anything. By dinner time, my apatite has returned enough to have another shake, but this one is the chicken Soup from unjury. It's warm and goes down well. I'm on day 13 of my all liquid Protein diet. :-)
  13. Your Monday, and i am Tuesday. We got this!
  14. I need to find those flavor infused broths! Haven't seen them yet!
  15. I put it in warm broth. I usually let the broth cool down, mix in the powder, let it settle a min or two, stir again. I keep stirring and settling it until it's all mixed in.
  16. I dreamt I went to my moms house and he one thing her fridge had was Chinese take out. The whole thing was full of it. I woke up in a sweat too. :-)
  17. My program took a before pic at my very first appt. It's in my personal file, not to be seen by any other patients. They also took my measurements. That said, I'm on day 12 of my pre op diet. I'm perfectly ok with never having another vanilla or chocolate shake again. Tuesday can't come soon enuf, that's my big day.
  18. I'm on day 12 of my pre op. First 5 days were not so good. Days 3-5 I had a migraine each day. Once I made my mind up and decided I could only succeed at this, things were easier. You'll have ups and downs along the way...just remember it's for a great reason. I took a lot of hot baths, and avoided tv at first. But I have 3 more pre op days and then I have a full day of Clear liquids. Cheating is not an option for me, failure is not an option either. If I'm doing this, making this choice for surgery, I'm doing every aspect the right way. Good luck, each day does get a little better, but take it easy during this time. Your body and emotions need a break too.
  19. So, I'm curious as to what week everyone began their vitamins post op.
  20. I have my surgery on Tuesday. All the dr have said that they have seen patients lose their weight and then go off the thyroid meds, but that it's not common. Still a possibility yes. That said...I've always lost an amazing amount of hair due to the thyroid, so I'm not worried about that at all. :-)
  21. That sounds right to me also. I am on an all liquid high protein diet and I've been tracking daily. Those numbers are consistent with what I've been consuming as well. I'm on day 11 right now... And have 5 more until surgery day!
  22. I'm up in Minnesota. Having it in the twin city metro area. Today is day 11 of my pre op diet.
  23. Same surgery date as you! I'm on day 10 of the pre op. Ready for next week.
