  1. K ladies. I finally have tracked enough to see the trend. Each week out of every month I stall out. It's always the same week. Anyone found a way around this? Just when I get started on a good loss, bam. Girl week. Just wondering if anyone else has this happen to them too. Super irritating but oh well, I guess.

    Same again.
  3. I did as well too. Post op its a little better than before I had my surgery. So I'll take it. To the othe poster above that said sleevers dumping is controversial...its only that way if you don't believe we are supposed to have it. Most of the centers for excellence bariatric centers have the data showing sleevers do infact dump. Its a proven fact that we do it. The drs or surgeons sometimes dont want to admit it because there is no real medical reasoning behind why some of us do it.

My NUT got into my head!

Oh, one dietician I saw at that exact point told me I couldn't have Snacks. She told me I couldn't have Greek yogurt either. It really sent me into a tail spin too. Next visit, I saw another dietician and told the front desk to note my file not to see that evil one. The nice one told me that that's the point when a significant portion of people stop losing and go back to old habits...and she was concerned for me. My snacks were beef Jerky or Greek yogurt at that time. To date, I've lost 101 pounds, and I hit the surgeons goal in 4 more pounds. I've remained vigilant and I have adjusted my food as necessary to continue the weight loss. But that evil dietician really got under my skin...so I feel your struggle.

  6. Dumping=instant sweats, shaky feeling, you run for the toilet and everything you just ate comes right back out the other end. And never say never. I'm 7 months out and just last weekend dumped off of fruit flavored Greek yogurt. The farther out I get, the more I dump off of ANY and ALL forms of sugar.
  7. Is it just my imagination or have these 3 been MIA for a while now? I love reading their stuff..miss it. Anyone?

    Feeling "satisfied"?

With time you will feel satisfied long before you get the hiccup or whatever your full que is right out from surgery. I'm 7 months out and now I feel satisfied fairly quickly. I don't need to wait for my hiccup or runny nose or sneeze. I don't need to measure much anymore because I have adjusted. It takes time. You'll get there..I promise!

    calories

My dietician told me my shakes had to be below 190-200 calories. At 7 months out now, I'm able to make a shake with just Water and ice and a little sugar free torani syrup if I need a shake, which isnt too often. Or else I just have a scoop of Syntrax nectar fuzzy navel with water and ice.

    hypoglycemia

See!!! I knew it was the fruit flavors! ! Earlier in the week, I had the orange cream flavor and got sick from that. This morning I had strawberry banana. No buenos. I have been totally fine up until I ate those. Haven't had an episode for at least a good month or so..until I had those. I haven't had bread or flour since before my surgery, so at least I've got that going for me. But this fruit flavored yogurt thing is really trippy.

    hypoglycemia

I was diagnosed with it 18 years ago. If you think you have it, talk with your pcp about it. The first step is that. They will get you set up to monitor and track everything you eat and times and then you'll test your blood with a glucose monitor to corilate with symptoms and times.

    hypoglycemia

Hey RJ, are you able to tolerate the dannon greek light and fit yogurts? The last few days each time I've had any of the fruit flavors of it I seem to have a reaction. Its clearly not dumping...feels more like this whole hypoglycemia episode. Its strange. I do have RH, could these flavors be causing a flare up?? How are you feeling now? I've been trying to follow your posts.
  17. I had this happen to me. It was reflux. I had it before surgery pretty bad. But after surgery, I wad told not to eat 2 hours before bed, or else this will happen. It did happen to me. Definitely not fun. Edited to add this...my nurse said the time of day doesn't matter for the prilosec. Just pick a time and stick with it. She said the middle of the night choking on the ish is reflux because of eating too closely to bedtime. Try timing food and bedtime at least 2 hours apart and see if that resolves your issue. I did it and it hasn't happened since.

    Eating too much?

At 4 months, my dietitians wanted me to be eating more real food. I was told 3 meals of real food, and no Snacks. If I hadn't met my Protein goal, then it was allowed 1 shake per day as a snack. They explained that at that point, it's critical to be strict because that was when people would stop following the basic rules and would not lose due to snacking all the time. So, I had to cut out all snacks and completely change the way I ate. I'm so glad I did too...because it taught me that I need to always be on guard for sneaky old habits that try to immerse at any time. I am now 7 months post op on Tuesday, down 101 pounds, with 4 to go to meet surgeons goal and 24 for my own goal. Good luck n he rest of your journey. It's a bumpy ride.

    Getting a nasty cold!

I've had it for at least 2 months now. ENT dr is even stumped. Now I get to see a Neuro otologist for it..but that's another story. Like RJ above me said, any of the Tylenol products but u may want to ask your program of they want you to take a dose of prilosec while on the otc meds. My nurse told me to add in a dose of it anytime I'm on the otc cold meds.

    Losing too fast?

Over time, things will even out. The long term weight loss usually looks like a set of stairs going down on a graph. Just enjoy it for now! It's exciting to see it going down so fast for the first 3 months. Then things begin to change. Enjoy the ride!
