Any other September 2013 bandsters?
I am up 10 lbs since the start of my pregnancy, and now that the doc unfilled me I can eat anything and I'm SO hungry. And I hate seeing my belly get bigger again. But I guess it's all for a good cause!!

Michele Elbertson: 427 Pounds to Endurance Athlete
Really inspiring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS Since I got my band, I've gone from non-runner to multiple 5K finisher (even middle of the pack!). It really has been a blessing!!

I screwed up
And three days later I found out I am pregnant. HA!!! No wonder I was craving foods so bad. haha

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
Nice to hear from you all! Since last year this time I've only lost about 20 lbs, and the summer/fall was particularly bad. However, I made some awesome exercise changes and ran several 5Ks. Running was something I would have never done in my "previous life". The week after Thanksgiving I found out I am pregnant! A complete surprise, as I've never been able to conceive without medical help in the past. I have had several losses (at my old weight), and I'm 40, so I'm not sure what will happen, but I'm celebrating every moment I have with this baby, and tomorrow I will surprise my daughter with the news. She's gonna be over the moon! So far, I've been eating terribly for a lap bander (normal for a normal person---and I've discovered I can eat a whole bagel, which has got to be the worst thing!!) and the doctor unfilled me completely yesterday (I only had 2ccs in a 10cc band anyway). I met with the nutritionist and she gave me some good things to think about and ideas for lunches and how to handle cravings. May the new year bring a new motivation and some happiness to you all!!

Surprise BFP
Today I went to my LB doc and he wanted to take out the 2ccs that were there. But it was awful to take out!! He couldn't get a good shot to my port, so he had me move in a sorts of positions and it was like when they try to do a blood draw and can't find the vein!! YOUCH!! but he took it out, so I'm all unfilled. I hope he didn't hurt the baby. It really did hurt. Then I met with Nutrition who basically said don't change a thing, just eat an extra yogurt or so per day. I can handle that.

2 months post op (pic)
Looking good!! It's not a timeline contest. Lose at your own pace. You did this to become healthier. Are you healthier today than at the start? then that's the only thing you need to focus on right now.

I have PCOS...
I had borderline PCOS and insulin resistance. I've lost about 90 lbs and my periods regulated...and know I just got a surprise BFP this month! I've heard some very positive things about WLS and PCOS.

Surprise BFP
My somewhat normalized period (only in the last 6 months) was a little late, so I took a HPT, and holy crap, it was blaringly positive!!!!!!!!!! I've suffered from secondary infertility (13 medically assisted procedures-IUI and IVF, none successful) for the last 8 years and so I never thought this would happen. I've got a lot against me: I'm 40 and I've had six previous losses, so I'm keeping my head on straight and my heart guarded. I am not certain about how far along we are, maybe 6+ weeks? Went to the RE and they did a scan. Shows a baby and a yolk sac. Next week I go back to look for heartbeat and dating. Wish us luck. I'm terrified. I'm not going to change anything in my diet except adding one more Protein shake a day until I see my lap band doc in late December, provided the baby is still viable at that time. Who else is PG with a band right now?

Your dream outfit
I already got into my dream outfit: running shoes, tights, and a tank top. Makes me feel FIERCE!!!!!!!!!! Some day I would like a vintage style dress (a la Audrey Hepburn) with heels, but I'm a little ways off that.

Sugar addiction
I am a sugar addict too. I conquered it just after my lap band was placed, but since Halloween I've really messed up. Today I started a sugar detox. I'm pretty certain that if I can just make it a week I'll be back to feeling much more in control. Sugar makes me nuts. I 100% believe it's a drug like crack cocaine. Time to go to rehab!!

Slipped band again....need surgery.

So I was craving egg nog...
I was craving egg nog and so I experimented and put cinnamon and nutmeg in a french vanilla Protein shake. Good enough to satisfy me for now! LOL

Feeling your lap band
I CAN feel the band. Always have been able to feel it. Not pain, but I def feel it from time to time. Not a squeezing sensation, either. Just a "there" feeling.

I screwed up
I've screwed up and since Halloween I've reintroduced sugar into my eating. And now I'm eating everything. I've gained about 10 lbs. Thanksgiving and seeing family made reverting to old habits too easy and I ate many, many things I shouldn't have. But I'm not going to beat myself up about it. I will just get back on track. I did do something recently that I'm proud about--I ran a 5K Turkey Trot and got 6 of my family members to do it too! But then I gave myself permission to eat like a crazy lady and that's gonna stop right now. It's gonna be a rough week detoxing from sugar again. I've done it before, i'm gonna do it again!!!!!!!!! Send me some positive vibes.

Any other September 2013 bandsters?
Hi folks! Hope you are all doing well. I miss you guys--there doesn't seem to be much going on around here lately. My positives: I am exercising a lot and enjoying it for the first time in my life. I'm going to the gym, running, lifting weights, etc. Done a couple 5Ks since the last time we talked. The other day on the spur of the moment I took a Boot Camp class and I actually didn't die by the end of it!! haha So that's great. Also I'm meeting my friend today for Hot Yoga. Should be interesting! But it's making me SO hungry. So the negatives: I'm eating too much. I'm easily eating 2c of food at a sitting and I hope I haven't done damage to my pouch. Nothing hurts, but I'm just scared. I used to feel tight, now I don't feel anything. The only thing that sends me a message to stop eating is nerve sensation in my back shoulder blade. I've been eating sugar and Halloween candy, but still at least staying away from bread. This week I'm going to try to do a week of like we did pre-surgery...all liquids and lots of Water. I need a big detox. Please check in, my peeps!!!!!!!! @@Amy Carter @@princesstuiaki @@5.0junkie @@NewMeDebbie @@RogerL9323 @@chasingadream @@intelirish @@arch002

I'm just not thirsty
Thank you Sweet! Just what I needed to hear. I am a high school teacher, so it's hard to stop for potty breaks, but I can squeeze in a bottle before school and mid day. I like your idea of not eating til I drink. I'm at a stall and not eating quite right, so this will be a good goal to help get me out of the slump. Thanks again!

I'm just not thirsty
I'm filled probably where I need to be--my hunger is under control, but I'm just not thirsty. I'm sure I'm dehydrated frequently, though. I find it a chore to drink Water. Pre-band, I used to be a chugger and could down a bottle of water in seconds. Now that I have to go slow I'm just like Meh. Any tips?
