  1. Wasn't sure where to poss this (what forum), need friends on my fitness pal who are willing to share their profile diary. Use to use lose it app, but after sleeve, my fit pal perfect. Can anyone add me please. Doing well just want food, exercise and progress to share. Thanks in advance . I finally crawled out from under rock I was hiding.

    I'm katscrapper1

  2. I have a case of the oh poor me's & need to wallow and then lick my wounds and pull myself up by the boot straps. Been off work 7 months broken leg, torn meniscus, surg, casts, bone stimulator, brace and now vertical sleeve. Brother died, I'm I'm jeopardy of losing my job, financial changes being on disability. Finished grad school and all the trauma & triumph of that. No social life anymore, no contact with friends and very little family. Can't drive, gave up coffee, diet coke & have a post op wound infection. If u have something snarky to say, please don't, I am as low as I have ever been in my life. Yes I started med and seeing a professional, but have really lost the will to fight anymore. Don't call I am not 5150 able, just lettin ya'll know takin a time out as I don't want to keep bringing negative vibes to all the fabulous folks I've met on this site. Take care, I wish u all the very best. When I can I will resume my activity. Bless u all and continue the fight for me. Good bye my battle buddies.

  3. You never know. Just stick to the plan and you will do great. Sleevezilla will let you know when you are screwing up. I made a chocolate salted caramel cake for my daughters birthday last month. I thought a few bites won't hurt .... about 20 minutes later I thought i was re-enacting the scene from Aliens. Sugar is evil.

Wait, wait, wait. U had sleeve right not bypass? I thought that kind of reaction was only bypassers. Oh my, thanks for warning

  4. Post op day 13. Had to talk to on call surgeon this weekend. Two sites infected. Red, warm, pain, swollen, no fever or pus. Glad I insisted they see me today. Staples taken out, had reaction to adhesive tape, very bad. The two sites open up after staples removed and pus came out. So now packing wounds 3 times a day, ouie. Got cleared for purée, taking whole pills and all of Vitamins. They stated they were disappointed in my loss of ONLY 15 pounds, but because I stayed in hospital longer, am constipated, started my period, have a post op infection nuns cannot walk much due to my broken leg....they will excuse it THIS time. Wtf? Really? Oh and my brother died the night before surg (not sure how that factors in)

  5. Well it's been three months since my surgery. I am 6'3" and started out at 320 lbs. As of this morning' date=' I weigh 255 lbs. I am at my lowest weight in 20 years. I'm a private person and the thought of posting pictures embarrasses the hell out of me. But there were so many people here that I watched and read about for months before deciding to start this journey. One of the things I that helped my decision was looking at before and after pictures. So in an effort to hopefully pay it forward, increase my karma points, and help someone else.... Here are before, 6 week, and 12 week pics [/quote']

I am so glad u were courageous enough to post pics. U look great, keep up the progress. Very happy for u

  6. Thinking going to have to call on call MD tomorrow. Late this evening left surgical site where staples are still in place, painful, red, warm to touch. No drainage or fever , but I think something's brewing. Why couldn't it have surfaced on a weekday during clinic hours. But may wait til Monday, as the advice will likely be go to ER, and I will not. I am an administrator at the hospital and do not want to go. We'll see if we can come to some other compromise. Here I am bargaining scenarios all by myself, geez, I need to just go to sleep

  7. Exactly. I haven't been active much lately because my personal life is crazy since my husband hates the fact I had the surgery' date=' which has been hard, but it my was my body, my choice and I let his fears keep me from getting wls years ago. I'm struggling with that aspect but as far as my surgery, it's been good. I'm getting in my Water, and trying to get my Protein in as much as I can, it's crazy before when I was stressed or depressed, I'd eat, now I don't like to. So I just have to deal and keep moving forward.[/quote']

May I ask why he didn't want u to have surgery, othe than obvious it's a big risk? Is he overweight?

  8. Thanks! It's going well but lately my personal life is just taking a toll' date=' family in the hospital, another my nana diagnosed with cancer. And no the emotional toll is crazy. It's a roller coaster and hard at times.[/quote']

Pm me anytime u like. I know the emotional roller coaster & impact on mind body connection. I have a broken leg, off work 6 months no end in sight, 8 days post op. My brother died unexpectedly 2 days b4 my surgery. Wow, it's a lot

  9. Day 6 post surgery not good. I feel like I'm battling a sore throat and small case of diarrhea ??? All I have been able to do is sugar free pops and cough drops.???????

How u doing? Did u get a cold? I'm day 9 and still learning the tolerance of volume, bowel changes, gas, heightened smell awareness ( no pun intended), reading my literature over and over to help it become second nature. Off until end of November with the broken leg...thinking will be feeling premium by then and able to withstand the 12 hour shifts again. So many encouraging, knowledgeable folk so here, truly feel blessed to be apart of such a courageous group of people.

  10. Hi all. I'm 8 days Post Op. I can't believe its been just over a week already. I am now feeling great. I had a few extra days hospital stay due to the swelling in my stomach and nausea. I've been home since Friday. I have close to no pain ( when I first got home it felt like I did too many situps) I can't believe that I had zero gas pains! When I had my c-section' date=' the gas pains were horrible!. I have moved onto the puree stage and it is not bad at all. Just take the bites and sips slow. I lost 20 lbs. in the month before the surgery and 17 lbs since the surgery! I'm here if you have any questions or anything.[/quote']

    Wow incredible #'s. Seriously

  11. YES! Tons of patience. I'm guessing we will get used to it. I have been taking the first half hour of the day to make sure I get all of my meds and supplements in. Yesterday wasn't great and I didn't get much in' date=' but I've been taking it much slower today and I seem to be doing a lot better. Slow and steady! We will get there :-D[/quote']

Hey octsleevers, my 8 day post op. Still gassy, some pain, low energy, going slow slow slow for intake. Guess broken leg may have some impact on my recovery :)

Glad to hear we are all progressing in diff stitches. My daughter mass me laugh so hard this afternoon I was afraid I was going to pop open my staples
