  1. I have gain about 20lbs in a year. I think about it sucks that a lot of stuff get stuck. But I know if I didn't have this surgery I would be in 300lbs. The way I look at I happy I got I at lest lost something I was over 280 when j start this journey and at 217. I see my self happier now so it's worth it just sucks I got to my low 195 and I look at pic I was so much smaller there. Well I was 16 Almost a size 14 at a size 18 now. I have my days I go back in forth why did I do this but bottom line I lost weight and even not my goal it made a big difference in my life. Hang in there don't give up.

  2. I have been on here in a long time I got banged on September 2013 the first yr or so I was doing so good last summer I even got to a low of 195lbs some how I am back to 217. I been struggling eating for the last yr. I have good and bad days there days j can't keep anything down expect Soup. And my good days I can eat a lot. bread steak have been getting stuck I stay way from that. I don't think I am loosing weight because when I have my good days I over eat because from the day before all I had was soup. So if a back and forth battle now. I go from 215-219 back in forth from those to weight depending how many good and bad days I have. When I have my bad days seems like everything wants to come back up. No mater how hard I try to keep it down. Even on my good days sometimes get stuck and want to come back up. How is everyone else journey going.

  3. I go to planet fitness in Joliet by Joliet mall. I usually do a mile on treadmill and a 2mile on the bike and do strength training. My brother helps me with strength training because I don't really know what to do exactly.

Another really good gym is life time fitness in romeoville IL. They have everything there. It a very good gym but a little price on there memberships

  4. They said my health was good. - weight and family history. Did have terrible high blood pressure. But that was cured by quiting my job!!

I guess if they needed more tests they would have ordered them. 7days pre op done only lost 7 pounds... But they said to only expect 5 so I have topped that.

That good keep up the work I am down 9lbs. It's getting a lot Easier now.

  5. Now I am really getting scared. I haven't seen a cardiologist or pulm' date=' last sleep study was 5+ years ago, egd was 5+ years ago and never had a psych eval. Ins approved mine and surg is 9/3.

Has anyone else not had to have all this testing? Did they forget something? Calling office first thing in morning.[/quote']

I did have any test done all I had done was blood work last year. I had a ECg like 4 years ago they said I was young and i did not need it. But I went to my own primary doctor and had all my blood work done and again and to make sure he said I was good to go for surgery

  6. Who is your dr? I'm seeing Dr Klem at CDH. I did see he originally had an address in Oswego' date=' but when I called the place they said they were no longer seeing patients there and I'd have to go to the city. Dr Klem was listed as one of the Drs, but it looks like he changed groups. How long did the process take you? I will be done with my testing on Tues (I hope) and am not sure how long the process takes after that is all completed.[/quote']

My doctor is dr Woodword. I afterward all the testing it takes a couple days for the insurance to approve it. And after that the give you sugary date. I waited a year after I was approve. I wanted to try one last time by myself before I go through it. CDH is a very nice hospital there. Bariatric team there is very nice.

  7. MookNana--where are you having your surgery done in Oswego? I'm on the Aurora/Oswego border' date=' and the closest Dr I could find is at Central DuPage.[/quote']

That is were I am having mine central dupage. But I believe the have a outpatient surgery place they can do it in Oswego .

  8. my journey has been ok. It's a lot of accountability that you have to take on in order for your band to work. Making sure you get your Protein and work out. The worst things for me have been trying to stick to my diet when my family is being a bad influence and the fill I had was painful.

Yeah it's a life changing thing. I could imagine I have my most of my family coming over Saturday and they will be eating like crazy but have to stick to my diet hopefully it will get Easier for both of us.

  9. We aren't close' date=' but are on the same "schedule" for banding. First day was a witch. Husband and kids "forgetting" I can't eat and snarling down chicken strips n fries.... Then wondering why I wouldn't try them made it an even bigger ARGH.[/quote']

Mine first day was ok. Lol I had a lot of will power even had the courage to go with my brother to McDonalds. And I just drank my shake. Lol I did get Hungary until like 4 witch when I started cooking my dinner I thought it was going to be bad eating a lil while everyone eat good stuff. But my mom was cooking food I really don't care fore this week witch is good. One day done 13 more to go lol. Are is your pre op diet are you able to eat a small meal or just shakes.

  10. I meet with the pulmonologist next week' date=' and then I'm hoping to be done with all the testing. Would love to be banded by early Oct, not sure how long it takes once the testing is over. I know I have to do a 2 week pre-op diet first.[/quote']
