  1. lol...I know...I couldn't believe that when I looked at the calendar.....welcome all who have joined!!!!!
  2. If it is an emergency situation they have to pay. For example, if you had an erosion, they would have to pay to take it out. But, they would not pay to put another one in!!
  3. Well, the next hog feed is what??? Labor Day???? I just don't see how people can keep stuffing themselves so damn much!!!!!
  4. wisegrl....oh, ya know I was gonna join Curves, but I had to make an appointment to go in to look at the place...It felt weird..like why couldn't I just go in whenever I wanted and look at the machines. It made me think that I would have to have an appointment time to go do the workouts too!!! SOOOO....I bought a bowflex instead!!! I think you are really going to enjoy it!!! I really do.
  5. BG!!!! What???? I am coming over that and kickin' some serious ass!!!! I HATE PEOPLE LIKE THAT!!!! They think they know it all and think that no one can tell them a different way to do it!!! Freakin morons!! You don't need this stress right now, and come to think of it, you said you were having a hard time right now with losing, and I betcha that is EXACTLY what is causing it...the stress from work!!!! Working with women SUCKS big time!!! I have done it several times and would much rather work with men. I am glad you are getting away then, you need a stress free environment to enjoy yourself for awhile. Do the women at work know about your band??? Hoosier....WTG!!!! I am soooooo proud of you!!! That is soooooooo dang awesome!!!! They don't have things like that around here, but I keep looking. I mean, they DO, but most of them are in the mountains, and I can't do a lot of mountains...can do HILLS, but not our mountains. If you have been in the Rockies, you know what I mean.... I am really gonna have to come up with some long term goals here.... I need something to work for...I need a competition to do...is the Relay For Life count???? I am going to go walk in that with MIL who has had breast cancer three times!!!!! In five years!!! It keeps coming back. I don't think they will let you ride though....gonna have to walk... You know what BG....you kinda look like Trisha Yearwood in your avatar...are you really Trisha???? Well, I guess if you were you wouldn't be working at a hospital huh?? LOL...ok..ladies....talk at ya laterz...
  6. I think tipping should be used for GOOD service. Good service rarely happens anymore!!
  7. hmmm that is interesting to know that....it there a reason there are no basements or attics???? Well, I still have one at home and she is now moved downstairs but there is enough room for my equipment. Yes, I would like a spin bike too. Hey, do you think that you will have to give up running because of your ankle??? What would you turn to if you did????
  8. OMG!!!!! NOW I am really really really really really jealous BG....22 mile trail to ride!!!!! FREAKIN SHIT....that is going to be awesome...I wouldnt worry about snacking too much... ride that every day and you should be FINE!!! When do you leave???? Can I come too????

  10. GO BG!!!!! That is so great!! Glad you got your ride in and I agree, it does make you feel a ton better!!!! Sweat out all the pissiness....thats what I was doing the other night when I was mad at DH for sitting on porch watching me mow the lawn I got it done like in a half an hour I was walking so fast pushing that mower!!!!! It usually takes and hour, so I felt a whole lot better when it was all said and done!!!! AND I didn't even yell!!! Also, I used to snack all the time when I camped too, but this year is different. I haven't snacked. I drank lots of Crystal Light...Keep postive... you can do it....I wanna see a loss when you get back from vaca...and I MEAN IT!!!! LOL...
  11. Jachut, my oldest just moved out of the basement so I have a "new" place to set up a home gym. I just love it because now that summer is here, I would not just be able to leave the house for the amount of time I would need to do all the exercise that I do. Anyways, that is an impressive home gym you have there. I am hoping to add a stair stepper or something similar for my a$$ muscles and maybe an elliptical for cardio this winter. We get very bad winters here in Idaho, not as bad as some places, but pretty dang cold. I am thinking I might have to use the university gym this winter and swim....I just hate the thought of not riding out in the fresh air!!!! Also, wisgrl....awesome weight loss....that is so great. Curves must of been working for you then....can I ask why you decided to get a bowflex????
  12. ok, this is what the exercise phy. told me to do. IF you can do more than 12 reps without it being hard at all, up the weight a little and lower the reps. So for example....if you do 12 reps of something with 20 pounds of weight and at the end of the 11 and 12 reps, you can hardly at all do it, then stay there for awhile, but if you do 11 and 12 reps with out any difficulty up the weight to say 25 pounds and LOWER your reps to say 8....does that make sense???? I have been strength training for awhile now, I did not always do all of those. I started out on May 30th and did: bench press - 5lbs-----3sets/12 reps lat pull down - 35 lbs---3/15 seated squats- 3/15---(these are just sitting down in a chair and standing up for 15 times in a row fast. These really work your quads...I hated every minute of these..LOL) Lunges 2/12 (each side) sit ups 3/12 So I haven't always done all those exercises. I have worked my way up. This was before I had my bowflex too. I just had a regular workout bench with weights. It did have a tower so I could do pull downs. THe EP said to start with these basic ones and then add on. I did these for a month and then when I went back to see him he gave me the new exercises to add on. I love it and I switch in which order I do them every time so I am not always starting with the leg press. I always do my stomach last though. HTH....
  13. I don't have an fill in me, but couscous is my all time favorite!!!!!! It is soooooo goood. I don't know if I had a fill what it would do, but it seems like it would be fine. BUT that is all individual as you know...good luck. Try it, you might be surprised!!
  14. Way to go tann!!! Keep it up...one day less of eight weeks to go people....we can do it...lets drop those pounds!!!
  15. DOn't be intimidated by it. You need to do some of the basic moves. Like start with four exercises and then work your way up. I started doing bench presses, Lat pulldowns, something for your quads, which for me was squats and lunges..not on the machine and sit ups. Then after you have those mastered and can do 3 sets of 12 with no problem, move up and add some other exercises. I now do these exercise every other day for my strength training: Chest press Lat pulldown Chest fly rowing Leg press(which would be squats and lunges if you don't have a machine that does leg press) leg extensions leg curls calf raises bicep curls tricep extensions ab. crunches Oblique crunches Reverse crunches(bringing butt off ground instead of shoulders) I do 3 sets of each of these with various weight amounts. I started low and have been working my way up I am leg pressing 240 now. When I get all these exercises down good and pat I will change it up and find others. My exercise physiologist gave me this list to do. The important thing to do it JUST DO IT!!! It takes me right around an hour to do all those. HTH...
  16. hoosier, YES YES YES Do it!!!! It will be great and fun and you will be so happy that you signed up. What great motivation too!!!! DO IT!!! For me, if not for you!! LOL...just kidding.
  17. Juli, I know you have a sense of humor so I wasn't too worried about the joke, but ya never know...ya know??? So, are there goals for a week?? Like 40 miles a week, at one time? Then move on to working up to 50 miles at a time? THat is sooo cool!!! And I bet it was the "look at that hot chick"!!!!! You are hot, we are all hot!!!.....and sweaty!!! LOL.....rock on girls, and guys!!
  18. Juli, sorry about the light on your ass comment....I actually am getting one myself....and I will proudly sing, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine", the whole time I am biking!!! BG, that sounds like such a great time. Two weeks camping....I am so jealous and a great trail to ride on too!!! What more could you ask for, other than an ass light!!!!! Juli, so what did the people were staring part mean? Like they were staring like....WOW, what a hot biker chick that is? or staring like....WOW, that person it riding fast? or what? I often wonder what people think of me riding down the road. I have got some hoots and hollers, not sure if they are bad or good ones though!!!!!!
  19. Big Monkey, I so totally agree with you!!!! I know I read so many posts about people eating all this junk food because that is all that will go down. Get an unfill then!!! So you can eat healthy! I also think that the poster you said that people are kidding themselves about how much they eat and how much they exercise and not losing weight is right on too!!! A person can only walk a mile a day at a leisurely stroll for so long before 1) you have to pick up your pace to walk faster 2) you have to start adding on the length of your walk. I think far too many people think that they can just stay doing the same cardio at the same pace forever and this is simply not true. Change up the workouts and add time and some resistance. I totally am sold on the exercise being the key to this whole thing. I KNOW I would not have lost like this if I were eating candy and onion rings and ice cream instead of healthy food and exercising.
  20. I know that some do not need to be filled, but I guess I was just looking for some explanation as to why I feel so much restriction and other people don't!! Luvox is actually an OCD medication and now is used for other things. It works on the seratonin in the brain...maybe that has something to do with it all....thanks for the reply wasa
  21. Wasa, I am really interested in this now. I have no fill and feel restriction. Always have!! I have been on Luvox for 11 years!!!! For OCD, so I wonder, I really wonder if that is why I have the full feeling with no fill??? What do you think?
  22. Juli, ok, you talked me into it....I am changing it...Certified Biker Bitch!!!! BG, crap that sounds crappy to have to change times of work like that!!!I would ride in the heat of the day too!!! Much safer than when it is dark outside!! You could get a head light and flashing ass light. Juli has a flashing ass light!!!! Hoosier!!! Way to go!! A new bike! You will definitely love it way more and be more comfortable on it too, which equals more time on the bike. Juli, 30 miles at a time???? Damn, my ass is so sore after 20, I don't know what I would do after 30, YOU GO GIRL!!!!! This is the best support group for exercise ever!!! And I think we should approach Oprah about doing that show BabyGrl.....You call her up and ask her, me and Juli will show up!!!! K...ride safe all!!!
  23. Well said Jachut, but then again, everything you say I pretty much always agree with!!!!
  24. welcome gracie...glad to have you join in the fun
  25. GO LOSING!! GO LOSING!!! You rock!!! Keep it up, you know how much better you feel afer you work out, and look what an inspiration you are to a lot of people on here. You keep on keeping on!!!
