  1. I just looked at the video for PALM.....that looks like a freakin blast. You guys who have that kind of thing going on in your part of the country should feel VERY VERY lucky. That looks like soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun!!!
  2. You usually ride 50 or more miles at a time dont you J? Is it just not worth it to go for shorter rides for you? We start out from our house and go, we don't have to drive anywhere to ride, I wonder if that is what a lot of people have to do. BG, who are you riding that with? J?
  3. Well goodness, we got about 55 miles in the last two days, so I say thats a good thing. I think my hubby is going to get me a new road bike. I have a mens bike and it is hurting my shoulders and neck. There is a creamsicle looking one at the LBS, a trek pilot...I believe like HP's??? I am excited!!!! I just love new bikes!!! It is suppose to be around 90 today, so it snowed last week now its 90...what a state I live in. A state of confusion!!! HP, how far do you usually ride when you go? I have a computer on both my mountain and road bike so I can keep track. I am going to challenge myself for the rest of June til the end of July to get in 1000 miles on my bikes.
  4. J, I know what you are talking about. It seems so different now than it did a month or two out of surgery. I don't like it, it just is. I love the way I feel too, HP, and want to continue to lose more, but I think if I stopped here, I think I would be fine (really though, I would be disappointed in myself), because I can move now, I can breath at night, I am off all medications and I actually want to leave to the house now. I do know that the smaller I am, the easier it will be to climb some of the huge mountain passes we have, and easier to bike altogether. My husband can fly past me going up steep hills and I mostly have to gear down to one-one most of the time. I did do a steep hill the other day and only went to two-one and stood up some of the time and did not stop at all. What are we gonna do with ourselves? We need some different kind of motivation.....BUT WHAT????
  5. Yeah, of all things...snow!! What a joke around here.....it is suppose to be in the 80's on Saturday...thats what I get for living in Idaho..
  6. Well, we got some snow around our area last nite and into today. I haven't actually seen any, but in the mountains there is some. What a way to start off the summer huh? Well, I guess I should just be thankful I am not in the floods or the wild fires....
  7. I wish we could all quit "life" and just ride....instead of just do it...its just ride... ZZ hasn't checked in for a while either. I know for me personnally I went through the withdrawal times and spent many months away. I think it is very much the thing that J said. We are past our year and life just goes on. I don't know... BG, sorry it was almost that bad. It was a funny thought and tickled my funny bone.
  8. HP, I am still laughing at the thought of BG taking her tires out of her bike and blowing them up really really big and paddling around her house after her house got all wet from open windows!!!!! Hopefully it was not really that bad!!! The weather has been so crappy here too. We did get out last night for a 15 miler, but I need some time on my bike. Raining again today, so doubt it will happen tonight. Well, maybe one day soon we can go out again and ride.
  9. I, too, am one of the ones who gets gassy and bloated. I am glad to see someone else does too!! I thought I was just a weirdo. It is not so much painful as it is annoying. I used to get really really bad gas the night of a fill and be in severe pain, but that hasn't happend for a while. I guess everyone is different.
  10. J, what does biggest tool ever mean? I am dumb with lingo. I know it means loser but what does the tool have to do with it??
  11. Hi TJ, nice rides you are doing. I am in Idaho so can't help with the partnering up sorry. Have you tried looking into the specific state portion of the forum? J, I know, what a loser I am huh? I always ruin everything.....LOL...well, I am not saying yes, but I am not saying no. BUT, if I drive, I would not be able to do it just for the weekend, that is the issue. The time....too bad its not during summer vacay.
  12. Start training with weights. That is a huge huge issue with most people. They think they just have to do cardio....well, your muscle burns fat, so get more muscle.
  13. I told DH and he asked if I wanted to go.....so that is a good thing. I will be right in the middle of school and externships at that time so I don't know how that would work out. BUT, I would really like to go.... If everyone was to go, I would HAVE to go.... Hmmmm, I need to google the mileage....
  14. I am not into airplanes. I like my feet on solid ground. SO, at Vegas, was it just one other person? Were there others there you just didn't know??
  15. Well, I am thinking about it....I just read the info...I am NOT a flyer...so it would be a drive...BUT, for a good cause... HEY!!!!!! Did you go to Vegas as planned J??? I forgot all about that!!
  16. You have to ask yourself where you are getting your information from? Is it someone who knows? Is it someone who doesn't know? Sounds to me like it is the latter.
  17. WHAT CONFERENCE?????? I don't know what you all are talking about....BUT my aunt lives in the area so it could be considered!!!! I am still under an umbrella here...RAIN RAIN RAIN!! HP, nice bike!!! Sounds like your whole family has the riding bug now!! I went to fill place yesterday and they only gave me a little over 1cc...so I am back to my lowest weight now...I am happy about that. I hope that I can get away with this much in my band for the summer. Well, someone PLEASE let me know what the conference is all about please!!!!
  18. B, Don't you think that you have ENOUGH people there that ride bikes...I NEED SOMEONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Good morning everyone!!! Glad your ride was good J!! I am also glad you got your pedals figures out....since I am the queen of falling over with mine!!! We went out yesterday to the mountains to see if the mud was dried up enough to ride some new trails and ended up doing quite a good hike. I was running the trails in some parts. I just love the renewed energy and life that I have now....I was thinking that a little over a year ago, I would of missed all of the beautiful scenery and lovely green grasses and trees and sat in the car while hubby and DD went out to look at the trail....but then again, we prolly would not of been looking at a mountain biking trail either. Maybe we would of been at the store buying big bags of candy!!!! I go tomorrow to get some more fill put back in. She told me she would put in another 2 so I will be back at 7cc. I think I will stay there through the summer. I want to be able to eat good food while strenously exercising. Hope you all had a great three dayer!!
  20. I love using clothes as a goal. I have taken too long to try some things on and missed getting to wear them though. Try them on every few weeks or so. Its weird being able to say my wedding dress is too big. I love that one!!!
  21. And once again this year, I am jealous of all of you who have rides to do.....how come my city doesn't have them...this sucks!
  22. Why is it so easy to eat like an elephant when it is raining outside....like the rain makes it ok to eat???
  23. Sorry about your schooling troubles...I really do feel for you. I have a summer break for three months before I have to hit the books again. I feel your pain. It will all be worth it in the end though!!! Thats what I keep telling myself. But then again, I am just getting an associates, not a masters soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo what do I know????
  24. FREAK!! It's still pouring down rain here...I did bowflex workout yesterday.....not sure what I might do today....might go out for a spin anyways....ya know, to see if I can catch pneumonia or something fun like that!!!! J, you are so awesome!!
  25. B, see how much fun it is????? Uh oh, ZZ is one of those ya'll folks....I forgot about that.... Man I ate like crap yesterday....don't have any excuse...just did it.
