Sounds like gas pains. Make sure you are walking, it is the number one way to get rid of the gas. You will fart & start feeling better. I had the hernia repair, it was terrible trying to swallow, felt like Water just "sat" there. Once the swelling went down I was able to drink more. I took meds around the clock for the first 24 hours after that just as needed & walked more felt better. Good luck!

Did any of you have acid reflux PRIOR to banding? I have been on nexium forever and am about to be banded on 9/5. Do you still have AR now? And do you just control it with meds?Had a hiatal hernia & that was repaired. No more reflux!!

Before you decide if you need more fill' date=' I'm going to suggest that you keep a food journal and track all your calories for a few days. The reason I suggest that is because I have a friend who is also banded, who exercises far more than me, who isn't losing weight despite 'eating very little'. One day I spent the day with her and I immediately figured out why.Basically she ate very little hard Protein and instead grazed all day on cookie dough or drank coffees with 2 sugars or would have 1/2 bottle of wine every night. While she felt like she wasn't eating much, in terms of calories, she was ingesting the most highly processed kind she could have been getting. It meant that no matter how tight she was, she not only couldn't lose, but gained sometimes too. She has lost less than 10kg in 3 years and unless she changes the way she eats, I can't see her losing any more.
Part of your success will come from your band, but the rest will come from learning to eat well. And of course exercising helps. So start with learning about the quality of the food you're eating.[/quote']
I use the free FitnessPal app! It's awesome & helps!!

In the beginning i was a youtube fanatic. Watching everyone's journey giving me high hopes for mine. People weighing about the same as i did in the beginning have lost nearly 70-80 lbs by now (almost 7 months post op). And i can now say I've lost almost 50. Its a size able amount but i still have 80 left. Now youtube just makes me feel discouraged and that i may be struggling or may have issues. In the past 3 months i may have lost 10 lbs. the weight loss has come to a screeching halt.
Anyone else get where I'm coming from?
I felt the same way. I dropped 50 pounds fast in my first year, I was upset, I wanted 60-70.. I lost only 7 in the next year, I maintained. I went online & got a food list of Low Glycemic Index foods & started watching everything that went into my mouth. Measured it all. 1 cup or less... I walked daily. Next month's check up! Down 15 pounds & 3 pounds each month for the last 2 months. I'm now going to get back on track & I'm hitting the gym with a trainer too. I want my last 42-47 pounds GONE!
Good luck! You can do this!!

OK thank you I just picked up some gas x chewtablets!
When you start feeling "gassy" walk.. Walking is excellent for getting rid of gas. I'm a surgical nurse too lol pain meds don't always work on has pain, but walking does you belch & fart & aww feel much better. Good luck!

It is expensive for fills anywhere you go. Thank goodness for insurance. I haven't had a fill in over a year. I have a 10cc band & have 7.5cc in it. I hope it works out for you.
Where's everyone from?
