My dr explained to me that as you lose weight the band loosens up around your stomach, hence the need for more fill. It could be that your weightloss has done that and you just need another fill.
  9. Wow, Sammy! What happened with the first try? Details, please!!! We're a nosey bunch around here, LOL!!!
  10. Thanks for keeping us updated. Waiting on the insurance approval is always the hardest part of this journey. I feel for ya! Good luck and best wishes!!!!
  11. PMS....For me that = OUT OF CONTROL!!!! My insatiable need for chocolate rules my brain!
  12. Congratulations and welcome to bandland!!!
  13. You'll feel the soreness for at least a couple of weeks, but it gets better everyday. You should be able to get up easier in a few days.
  14. I'm having trouble getting any sort of meats down and need some ideas. So what are ya'll putting on your meats to moisten them up enough to go down without a pb? What's your favorite food lube?
  15. Take a look at the pic of the lapband at the top of this forum. See the end with the ring? That is the band. Notice the long tube that goes to the other end where there is a funny shaped thing. That is the port. The band goes around your upper stomach and is attached by the tube to the port which is placed either to the left of your bellybutton or sorta between your breast and just under the ribcage. The port is where the dr injects the saline that fills the band to give you restriction. It requires a needle but is not painful. I suggest you go to Inamed.com and do some research there. Hope that made sense, LOL!!
  16. Got fingers, toes and eyes crossed here! And saying a prayer! Christina, let us know as soon as your hear something.
  17. Girl, get yourself to an allergist and do the immunotherapy shots. Besides the band, that has been the best thing I have ever done for myself! Do you know if your allergies are mostly caused by environmental issues or are you allergic to some foods?
  18. LOL!!! Patty, after my surgery my dh said my belly looked like it had been in a fight with a cat!
  19. Dh and I watch Emeril fairly often. We have tried a few of his dishes and they were to die for. Some of it is just way too fussy for me though. I really don't like to cook.
  20. I stayed one night. I'm sorry your date got moved, but it's just a little bump in the road. You'll get your band.
  21. Tinkerbell, I convinced my dh by having him sit down in front of the computer and reading LBT and the Inamed website. He didn't need anymore convincing after that! Good luck!
  22. Does anybody else have trouble eating protein??? Seems like the only way I can get meat down is when it is mixed with something else. I can't take a bite of chicken, but I can eat chicken salad, or casserole or whatever. Same with other meats. I have tried eating it with a bite of veggie in the same bite, but it still won't go. Sorta ends the whole protein first thing for me.

  24. Tracey, sorry it's taken me a while to get back to this thread! Wow, sounds like you found the sweet spot!!!! Lucky, lucky, lucky! I have a 4cc band. I have gained 4 pounds since my unfill a week ago. I think he took too much out! Good luck to you!!!
