  1. Good luck to you!!! I quit several years ago and it was very hard to do, but I am sooooo glad I did it and you will be too. Now I am amazed at how much cigarette smoke bothers me! It's a good thing my dh and I are not partiers, because I just can't stand the thought of going into a club or anyplace where there are a lot of smokers. A couple of years ago, we went to a club to watch a friend and his band play. We could only stand to be in the smoke for about an hour. When we got home, we both stripped in the garage and headed straight for the shower!
  2. Wow!!! You're going to Belgium for your surgery? How long are you staying? How long is the flight? Things to pack: Chapstick liquid tylenol slip on shoes loose clothing gas-x reading material Snacks for whoever may be going with you you'll probably want to bring some bottled Water on the flight home
  3. I didn't know Kelly had left either. I will miss her! Who else left?
  4. (((Sammy))), I'm sorry the first try was such an unpleasant experience for you. FWIW, I am finding that the experiencee gets better with each fill. I know that with my first couple of fills, I was so tense you probably could have bounced a brick off of me! So here's to easy fills in the future!
  5. Wow, you are really doing great! Keep up the good work!
  6. Zoe, thank you for sharing your story. I am four months post op and even I find hope in your post! I can sooooo relate to your 'I am an impatient sort; even six weeks after my surgery, I found myself thinking, "I'm working really hard at this. How come I'm not thin yet?"!' LOL!!! Did I ever tell you that impatience is my middle name?
  7. banded, my dh does the same thing, LOL!!!
  8. LOL!!! I'm confused! Is your port in your a$$ or in your knees? j/k Hope your soreness goes away very soon!!!
  9. Fortunately, I only saw a small part of the ugliness that took place on this forum recently. But from the small part I saw, I could not describe the situation any better than the above quote. I am sickened by the hostile direction this forum has taken. I come here for the support and friendship of people who are in similar circumstances as myself. In return, I want to give back that support and friendship to those who come here looking for it. The hostility here has got to be stopped!!! I believe, Alex, it us up to you as the creator of this board to meet with your moderators and come up with guidelines on how they are to do their jobs and handle the so called "bad apples". Also, I just want to say that the personal attack on Marie was absolutely disgusting!!! Marie has been one of THE MOST supportive people on this forum. Not only is she a wonderful moderator, she takes the time to make people feel at home here. It was her kind consideration of me on a personal level that initially made me want to stay at LBT. Money could NEVER buy that kind of support!!! So, Alex, there you have it! My two cents. Now the hardest part is up to you. I sincerely hope that you can find a solution to this mess and bring this forum back to the fun, loving, and healthy place it used to be.
  10. Hey! Isn't Jamie's date, too??? WillPower, I think you will have a band sister!!!
  11. Nancy, I had read your post about Niko's death and it truely broke my heart. How wonderful that you are getting a new dog!!! I can hardly wait to get one! But, we are going to wait until we get the new house built and the land fenced in. We just feel getting one before we get these major projects done wouldn't be fair to the dog. Meanwhile, we are watching all the dog shows and petting every puppy we come across! I wish you the best of luck with your new companion!!!
  12. Woo Hoo, Kathy! That's not so far away!!! It'll be here before you know it!!
  13. Glad to hear you're doing well!!! That's great that you're still losing!
  14. Wow! That's a big first step!!! Hope all goes well for you!!!
  15. Estela, I have only lost 16 pounds so far. And most of that just came off in the last couple of weeks (I was overfilled). It has been a long, slow, frustrating emotional rollercoaster for me. I think my biggest problem was selecting a dr that didn't have a lot of lapband experience. It has taken so long for me to get restriction, and then I got overfilled. Now I think I am underfilled!!!! Grrrrr..... However, I am determined that this band is gonna work for me. I am trying very hard to be optimistic.
  16. Wooo Hoo!!!!!! So glad for your Trish! Congratulations!!!!
  17. Well, it's about time!!! Congratulations! Let us know when you get your date.

I work full time. My hobby is gardening. Here lately an awful lot of my time has been spent researching home building, since that is what we are about to do! And I watch too much TV, LOL!!!
  19. Yep! Dh and I are both addicted.

All time favorite is To Kill A Mockingbird. I like drama, romantic comedies, and also old westerns.
  21. Happy Birthday, Teresa! Hope you have a wonderful day!
  22. Good luck to you! Please keep us posted.
  23. Awwww, Estela! I'm sorry that fill didn't do the trick for you. But look at the bright side, you get to gaze at that hansome hunk-o-man again!!! Good luck to you!
  24. Isn't it great??? I used to binge at night too, now I just don't think about it much. I do sometimes struggle with my emotions when I reeeeaaaallly wanted something and I couldn't eat more than a bite or 2. But those feelings never last long. In the beginning I really struggled with throwing food away. It just seemed like such a waste! I am starting to get better at that too.
  25. Glad your unfill did the trick, Alex!
