  1. Been reading your posts. I too am in DFW and Dr. Adam Smith is my surgeon. I was sleeved on Nov. 18. Doing ok. Don't progress too fast. I know the foods can seem boring but you'll get there. I promise. You don't want to cause any issues with your new stomach. So happy for all of you guys and glad you are doing well!!

  2. Pre-op is hard. Mine was only 2 weeks long and was nothing but a liquid diet, no meals. I did everything I could to stay preoccupied. My doctor would not operate if I didn't shrink down my liver. I didn't want to show up for surgery and be turned away. You can do it. Believe me, if I could do it you can. So many of us on here didn't think we could. Just keep your eyes on the prize!

  3. I don't know. I'm a teacher and today we did a lab. I was on my feet all day moving and twisting around the classroom. Now this pain is so intense if I twist and each time I step with my left leg. The left side is where our stomachs are and that makes me nervous. I feel better when I can push in which makes me think it is the stomach wall healing - muscular pain instead of sleeve issues. Called my dr and asked and the first question they asked me was if I was swollen. But I've been swollen since the surgery and expected to be for 2-4 weeks out. Ugh. I don't know.

  4. I was sleeved on Nov. 18. All has been good and I have progressed well. Starting yesterday I started to get pain on the left side of my stomach. About 2 inches up from my incisions in the left side and under my rib cage I have such serious pain when I move. Feels like a serious stitch like when you run too much. Does anyone have this same pain?

  5. And I'm doing great! I was sleeved on Nov. 18. I will admit, the 2 days in the hospital were tough. I also had a hernia repair. Came home and tolerated Clear Liquids really well. No nausea, gas wasn't an issue, and no throwing up. Weighed myself this morning and I'm down 27 lbs. Moved right out if the 300's! Moved to Premiere Protein Shakes this week and they have not settled well with me. Finding that soy milk is working better. Those of you that were lactose intolerant after surgery, did it eventually go away or is this going to be a forever thing?
