Nov 2013 Sleevers Progress So Far...

Sleeved on 11/18. I lost 15 on the two week pre op liquid diet. Then have lost 16 since surgery. But I struggling with protein and water intake. Definitely not getting in what I should.
  2. And I'm doing great! I was sleeved on Nov. 18. I will admit, the 2 days in the hospital were tough. I also had a hernia repair. Came home and tolerated clear liquids really well. No nausea, gas wasn't an issue, and no throwing up. Weighed myself this morning and I'm down 27 lbs. Moved right out if the 300's! Moved to Premiere Protein shakes this week and they have not settled well with me. Finding that soy milk is working better. Those of you that were lactose intolerant after surgery, did it eventually go away or is this going to be a forever thing?
  3. I'm a worry wart. So if I were you, I would call the dr tomorrow just to double check. I would hate for you to head into the weekend and it get worse.
  4. Ok. Good to hear. Let me ask you a question. I am a school teacher and will not be going back until Dec. 2. My classroom is upstairs. Do you think I will feel this?
  5. Thanks for that. I needed to know I wasn't the only one and to kind of get an idea of how long to expect this.
  6. Let's work through this together! I didn't have bandages. Just derma tape. I'm afraid to touch anything. I have my husband check my incisions everyday to see if they are ok.
  7. I do have an incision right between my breasts. And was afraid of it rubbing my incision so I kept mine off.
  8. I was sleeved on Nov. 18. It has been a process. I couldn't even take in ice chips the second day after surgery. I was able to come home on Wednesday and have been drinking an ounce of Isopure every 15 min. I haven't had much water because I've focused on the protein. But I do get propel zero and like it better than plain water. Today I introduced a half cup of chicken broth. That was a good change. But still taking Gas X strips to help with the gas. I can't get full liquids until next week.
  9. MY surgery was on Monday. 2 nights in hospital with massive pain yesterday. I am so excited to be going home. I was curious how long you were swollen after surgery.
  10. My surgery is tomorrow morning and I am ready. Are there any tips or advice that you can give me for the first two weeks to help my life be a little easier?

    Surgery Tomorrow! Any Tips?

Only in overnight unless there are any problems. What do you guys suggest I have ready at home?
  12. My surgery date is Nov. 18. I started my liquid diet which includes 2 Protein shakes, Soups - including chunky soups, yogurt, pudding, Jello, popsicles. I have followed the diet and haven't lost a pound. Anyone else fall into this problem?
  13. Do y'all have any advice for this part of the process? I'm on a liquid diet, protein shakes, for 2 weeks. I'm nervous but soooooo ready.
  14. Thanks y'all. I'm ready and don't want to screw this thing up.
  15. Go in for my preop on Oct 31 and I know my questions will be answered. But did any of you have a catheter during surgery? How many days were you in the hospital before you were released to go home?
  16. Curious how many of your drs did drains with the surgery...

  19. Well I have everything scheduled and am very excited! But this Thursday I have to have an EDG. A little nervous about it. Have any one you had this procedure done?

    EDG?

    Went great for me too!
  21. For those of you that survived the holidays last year, how did you do it? I will literally be on liquids for Thanksgiving. Not too concerned about that. But Christmas I'll be on soft foods and won't be at my house. I'm curious how you guys dealt with this.

    Nov. 18!

I've got a date! So excited. Weird part is my family is coming to my house the following weekend for Thanksgiving dinner. That's gonna be a little weird. I'll be drinking my brith while they are eating turkey, mashed potatoes and pie.

    EDG?

It's where my doctor puts a scope down my esophagus and checks out stomach to make sure all is good. I was told it wouldn't take long. But just worried about pain...
