  1. My left shoulder pain lasted for over three weeks post-op. I found out that it was an irritation of the vagus nerve that runs from the diaphragm to the left shoulder.
  2. A dose of milk of magnesia followed by a cup of hot liquid works very quickly without any cramping.
  3. Has anyone tried the Rogaine products for the hair loss? I use biotin every day and I heard about the Nioxin products, so I was curious if anyone has tried the Rogaine products?
  4. I had the left shoulder pain that was very painful more so than anything else. It is the vagus nerve that runs from your diaphragm to your left shoulder and it gets irritated during surgery. A cough, a hiccup, and a burp would all make my shoulder hurt. Ice packs helped the most and it finally went away after about three weeks.
  5. Where can you get the Nioxin products?
  6. Mine lasted just over three weeks.
  7. I drink it every day. My biggest issue is that it smells like "fart in a bottle!" I'm serious! I pour it out of the wider mouth glass bottle and pour it into a water bottle then I can't smell it. I like it because its tart. My fave is alpine pinch, but I can tolerate the mango peach and the coconut . They are pricey but they are cheaper to order them online at Vitamin Shoppe.
  8. Mine hit on day 10 with a vengeance. I guess that's when my swelling must have gone down. I get so hungry at times that my stomach really hurts. It is a struggle to control my portions, but I do it. I can't wait to get my first fill on 10/17, any bit hopefully will help some!
  9. Stacy K - hold on for about 3 or 4 more days and you will see a vast difference! My worst days were 6, 7, & 8. It does get better, I promise!
  10. I was banded on 9/5 and get my first fill on 10/17 and I have been hungry since day 10. My food intake doesn't seem to satisfy me more than 1 1/2 - 2 hours and then the hunger comes back with a vengeance, to the point that my stomach really hurts! I will drink water and see if that helps but it doesn't normally, so I try to get busy and not focus on it but sometimes its rough. I've been very conscientious not to overeat, but it's a struggle! I can't wait to get my first fill! And yes I am getting every bit of my protein in every day.
  11. Just curious, I'm 5 weeks post op and for the past two weeks about one or two days each week, I just get the blues for no apparent reason. I'm a very upbeat person and am very happy with my life so it's just weird for me to feel these blues. Any one else experience this?
  12. I had a hernia repair and I'm 4 weeks out from being banded and feel great! I am no longer a prisoner to reflux hallelujah! And believe it or not, it really took care of a lot of digestive issues that I have had for so long. Haven't regretted that one bit, wish I had done it 20 years ago when I was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia!!!
  13. I'm with you Jim, the texture makes me gag!
  14. 5.0 junkie - I don't remember baby food ever tasting anything but pure bland. At least when I blended the green beans and ham, it did "taste " like it was supposed to as long as you don't focus on what it looks like! All I could think of was this is how we started out and this is probably how it will be when we're old and can't chew up our food!
  15. I have tried everything in the world to be creative, but by the time you blend it up....it is like looking at vomit or baby poop!!!!! Please please hurry up 10/17!!!!! Not to mention, I'm hungry and have to ignore it!!!! Eye on the big picture, eye on the big picture, eye on the big picture..........
  16. I'm so sorry and it makes me want to cry with you. I love my little Remy and I cannot even bear the thought of having to go through what you're going through today. Hold him close and assure him that he's loved.
  17. there are a whole lot of them on www.emilybites.com
  18. Annette T - do you have recipes for your muffin tin meals? Please share if you do.
  19. I am 3 weeks and that back pain has passed. Everything is good but my port site still gets a little sore if I overdo it.
  20. I'm feeling really good. Keep losing and gaining same 3 lbs. I'm down 18 lbs TODAY! I'm on mushies and I'm sick of it! I get very hungry, but I'm working very hard to control what I'm eating. I'm suppose to get my first fill on 10/17 and I'm looking forward to starting the journey with real food. I know we will have to learn how to eat slowly and even smaller portions and I'm ready to start living our "real life" with the band, hope that makes sense. Surprising to me, I believe my doc banded my brain more than my stomach, because things that normally tempt me into oblivion just really have no affect on me at all. It's just been a little over three weeks and I hope that mental banding continues. Good luck ladies and keep me posted on how you're doing.
  21. That is fantastic! Keep up the good work!!
  22. My first day was very slow. You probably won't get a lot down for few days. It's normal and you will see a difference tomorrow and every day that passes. I was banded 3 weeks ago.
