I hear that!! Would be nice if every once in a while we could just "hire" a stand-in but that's not how it works, is it? I wish I could do step aerobics.

What I mean my listening to my body is... when I eat I stop eating when I feel satisfied... not stuffed. I plan my dinners for week in advance and always have Snacks in the refrigerator (usually cold turkey with dip). I make sure I eat three meals a day and sometime 2 Snacks. I hardly never have "head hunger" anymore because I now know when I'm really hungry.... also because now when I eat I'm more satisfied I'm not as hungry in between meals.
When I was losing I had great results because I kept a food journal for 4 months, planned my meals and went to support group meetings... I also only got weighed and measurement once a month by my family doctor.

Rode my bike 2.5 miles yesterday and pulled a big hill. Wasn't sure if I could do it but I DID! Rode again this morning but not sure how far this ride. Beautiful weather to be outside. Hey Catfish! How about those CARDS!

Don't worry, and I wouldn't necessarily say slower is always better. Everyone is different. Some people require little, others more. Just don't get too anxious or upset if you aren't where you feel you want to be immediately. I actually lost 110 pounds with no fill at all. When you look at my ticker you will see I'm over 10 years out from banding and I'm still a work in progress. I came within 3 pounds of reaching my personal goal and went on a self-sabotage spree that took years for me to get a grip on. Whenever I post something I am always talking to myself, too. Best to you!

This has been on my mind since coming to LBT. I just wanted to give a word of caution to those who are maybe new to being banded or over-zealous when it comes to weight loss and thinking maybe more and more fills are better.
The caution is about a habit that I developed and had to realize what I was doing wasn't the best idea. That is I want to caution you about getting your band too tight and in order to get things down lubing it up with extra calories like salad dressings or sauces. So more fills and a tighter band may not always be the best answer. I know it's cliche but it is a marathon and not a sprint. It's just something you may want to consider before getting frustrated or discouraged.
I have been banded many years and happy with my band.

As I've been losing the wright since my June surgery, I haven't been purchasing smaller clothes. I've just been tightening my belt and tucking my shirts in a little further. This morning when I weighed in I was down a total of 100.1 pounds! Took the day off and HAD to buy new pants as my old ones were more like clown pants. On my June 11 surgery day my pants were size 60 waist ( can't believe I just posted that in public!). Today I bought all new pants size 50 waist! They feel so much better than my clown pants. Even better I realized I'm finally in the green zone! It's a happy day!

Yeah, Noel is right. Not a good idea to be this tight imo. And, there are other issues to be concerned with such as slips, dilation, erosion etc. Always best to hear it straight from a professional. Muscle buildup shouldn't have any affect on internal organs or the band imo.

I had a Heart Attack about 6 years ago, followed by cardiac Surgery.....pretty serious stuff, many of my peers, ex-classmates, are no longer with us....
I have friends in the same boat as I...some go to the gym everyday, others take it easy and try not to get over worked or stressed....
And I have developed my lifestyle since then.....
Is it my place to tell the active Cardiac Patients they better slow it down or they can do themselves some harm?... OR is it my place to tell the inactive ones to get out there and do some cardio on the treadmill?
Either way, the answer is OF COURSE NOT! Their lives is none of my business....I couldn't show my face at their funerals and face their families if I did...either way...but on the internet people have anonymity and no consequences.....
So what can I do? Not much, except share what I do, and what my Dr. has told ME what I should or not do......NOT be a self appointed expert telling people what they can or cannot do....or how it all works and how it does not work....
I'm not sure what's worse...the people telling other people what to do? or the sheep that blindly follow.....
For me it's simple...I use the "Ignore" feature.....

I have 1.5 cc in a 4 cc band any more than that any I am to tight.
I Love ice cream shakes but it would not mater how tight the band was ice cream and chocolate will always slide down for me. So just because I love them does not mean I can have them every day.
Fortunately for me I make more good choices than Bad choices and I concentrate on The NSV's.

Timely post for me. I'm debating a third fill. I've lost 24# in 12 weeks. I have 3.5cc in a 10cc band. I follow all the band rules, especially the ones about Protein. But I still feel hungry after about 2 hrs. I've never been stuck, slimmed or pb'ed. So the debate is am I doing all the work or should I get the band to do its job. I'll talk to my pa but I'd like to hear what others think. If I'm this close to green and should I risk going past green. Last fill was sept 30th. TIA
