  4. Spam notification - Alex I am frustrated with trying to find a place to rectify a situation that has taken me out of the loop from Bariatric Pal. I apparently/ inadvertently marked some phantom email as spam resulting in suspension of first hand board notifications. Can you lift the ban? I truly do not remember marking anything as spam.I enjoy the support I gain from BP and want to get the emails rolling once again. Please help.

Has anyone had tremors in their hand, balance problems, and dizziness & almost passing out?
  6. I just moved to the area. When & where is the meeting taking place?
  7. My journey began in July of 2013. I finally had my surgery June 23, 2014. I'm 6 weeks post op & have lost 50#since surgery & 62 overall. The first month was rough. My incisional pain was bad. But I NEVER had the shoulder pain from the gas. In the past few days my stomach has begun allowing 1/4C of food an increase of 2 T! I still get full really fast. At my last appointment chicken & fish were added back! I still drink one Protein shake a day, other wise my protein total is too low! I was able to sleep in my bed on my back for the first month. Now I can lie on my side. I'm able to walk 1/2 mile/day. I'm slowly returning to good health! I had one ER visit for dehydration about 3 weeks ago. Best wishes for a return to health!
  8. Fiddleman, What Is the name of the shirt you wear that helps correct your posture? My mom has scoliosis so bad that she's pretty much bent over at the waist. I've ben looking into braces for her but your"shirt" sounds amazing. Thanks for any information that you can provide. Pjb
  9. Arts137, I have osteoarthritis in both knees and L hip. The best thing that was prescribed for me was a medication called Voltaren gel. It's applied directly to your knees. It's anti inflammatory in nature, but without the hazard of wrecking your pouch!
  10. Biggirlpanties, I had my surgery June 23. I'm doing ok. I had one incidence of dehydration that was rectified by a trip to the ER for fluids. I began getting serious in April and since the middle of May I've lost 62#, not too shabby! I'm so glad that I had the surgery. It's amazing to me that my hip & back pain have dramatically lessened & I'm able to walk almost 30 mins without crying due to my pain!
  11. I know it seems weird but a few times since my surgery, I've wandered down the path of doubt. I have thoughts like "when is this plan going to stop working" like the rest of the millions of plans I've been on. But then I snap out of it and remember this procedure isn't like any plan I've ever tried!! Irreversible and moving right along! Anyone else??
  12. Hi, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow. Had my surgery on June 23. I too have battled the boredom & routine of the Protein type of allowable foods. I attempted to return to my previous level of activity pretty much right away & ended up couched & in the ER dehydrated. So my advice is don't rush recovery, keep sitting sipping and eating,& walking. It gets easier....i promise. Yes - it was worth it. I've lost 62# since mid May. Very happy with my progress & my decision!
  13. The surgeon seems to think the pain in my abdomen is still post op pain and the diarrhea is "my body still adjusting to the diet"
  14. Linda, I'm on the mushies part of the journey. Things like "yogurt, cottage cheese, cheddar, strained cream Soups, Protein powder to boost protein intake, 64 oz water/day". I had 2 days of Diarrhea with horrible cramps, light headed and exhaustion.
  15. I was buzzing along - lost 30# since surgery 3 weeks ago. Hit a bump in the road. Developed some nasty gastric distress coupled with nausea and bad abdominal pain. I saw my surgeon today. The scale I was weighed on said I'd only lost 7.5#. Whaaaaaaaat? Now I'm super depressed! How can that be???????
  16. My surgery was June 23 so glad to be in the other side! In less than 2 weeks I've lost 16#. So happy to finally be on my way to abundant health.... Total lost since mid-May 39#
  17. I'm 9 days post op gastric sleeve & two days ago was diagnosed with thrush. I'm also having pretty bad pain in left upper quadrant. On call Doc seems to think the pain is due to the fact that I stopped taking my narcotic pain medicine. But thrush develops from steroid medication. Seems to me it's a catch 22. Any thoughts??
  18. Hi Ms. Bee, I'm looking for buddies too. I don't live in the south just yet. Looking for a buddy or three! My surgery is the end of April. I'm having the sleeve as well. Have you been an overeater for many years? Can't wait to be on the losers bench.
  19. Its airing next Monday the 24th on PBS.
  20. Hi, I'm planning on moving over the summer. I'm supposed to meet my surgeon at the end of the month. And am hoping and praying I get a date in the next month. I really don't want to start the process all over again. I've been preparing since July 2013. What advise can you give?
  21. I've been in a program since last July. Lost more than I needed to. In December had decided against a procedure gained 10#.Re-entered in January, in 10 days I meet my surgeon. Has anyone else "played" around with their food, while waiting for a date? I can't seem to get on the straight & narrow. Everyday I battle with what I will & won't eat. Will it always be this way?
  22. Thank you for posting this! I've been ordering books from the library, but haven't hit on any that spoke to the godly aspect!
  23. Anyone 3 years or more post op regret their decision? (Still wishing they could eat like they used to, were able to eat more foods they currently can't or don't because of intolerance). Anyone out there with the time under their belt, wishing things were different?
