  3. My surgery date is November 20th! I'm very excited and scared at the same time. Any helpful tips you would like to pass along would be great:)

  5. Just got my approval letter today... I'm so excited!!!!!
  6. You look awesome! How much more do you want to lose?
  7. My paperwork was just submitted earlier this week. The nurse told me my surgery should be in Nov. or early Dec. I also have to take a pre op class as well. My surgeon requires everyone to do a 2 week liquid diet before surgery to shrink the liver. I started Aug. 7th and I have been on a 1400-1600 calorie diet and I'm down 12lbs so far! I'm excited to start dropping some major weight!!!
  8. Keep me updated and good luck to you! Do you have any idea when your surgery will be if it's approved?
  9. I'm thinking my surgery will be Nov. 20 or Nov. 27th. My surgeon only does surgeries on Wednesdays so I may be in the hospital on this Thanksgiving.
  10. Submitting to insurance tomorrow and should be having surgery sometime around Thanksgiving I'm told. I'm pretty sure I won't be eating this year for the holidays. My doctor requires a 2 weeks liquid diet before surgery. Anyone else around this time?
  11. Thank you and good luck to you!
  12. I should be getting sleeved around the end of November or first part of December. Good luck to you on your journey;)
  13. I started my journey on Aug. 7, 2013. I finished up all my requirements for my insurance today and my doctor's office will be submitting to insurance tomorrow! They are telling me that I should be sleeved sometime around Thanksgiving of this year! When I first started 3 months seemed like forever... now I wonder if it's enough time to make all the changes necessary before surgery. I'm excited but also feeling very nervous and scared too. I want to lose weight and be healthier but on the other hand I'm afraid to go out of my comfort zone- if that makes sense?!?! So fingers are crossed and praying for approval!
  14. You look awesome!!! Great job;)
  15. Is it normal to start having second thoughts the closer to surgery? I know for a fact that this will probably be the only way for me to lose weight but I'm just second guessing myself. I feel that each day it's getting harder. They are submitting to my insurance next month and I'm scared to death now! I still have bad habits to break still and I'm terrified of losing my hair! I'm afraid of losing weight and drawling attention to myself. Is that weird or what? I'm scared to be a normal weight? What is going on with me... Please give me some positive comments if you have been thur this!
  16. You look awesome!!!
  17. I see a difference and you look great!!! I love it when I see pics because I haven't been sleeved yet and it gives me hope for the future. It looks like your doing a great job so keep on trucking girl;)
  18. Just curious how much you all lost before surgery?
  19. I agree! I thought 3 months would take forever but now I realize that to make such a drastic changed its needed to learn everything. We should be having surgery around the same time. Best of luck to you:)
  20. I had my first nutritionist appointment today. I start my diet tomorrow. I'm on a 1400 calorie diet and then 2 weeks before surgery I go on a liquid diet. I pretty much can eat whatever as long as I stay under 1400 calories but she want me to start to make healthier choices which I plan on doing. I don't plan on cheating either, if I'm gonna do this I'm gonna do it right! Good luck to you all:)
  21. Thanks for all the info! I'm doing better everyday and once I'm put on a diet I think I have a drive that will not let me give up! Good luck to you all as well:)
  22. I meet with my nutritionist this week and I was wondering how others have stuck to a pre opp diet? I want to start changing habits now so I'm successful in the future. I at times eat when I'm not hungry and I am really scared that this behavior will continue after I'm sleeved if I don't find some way of beating it. I do very good thur the day until the evening and I feel like I'm constantly snacking on things. So what are some things you have done to stop eating everything in site?!?! My change this week was to have a fresh fruit bowel in the frig and veggies to snack on. I also left many things off my grocery list including pop! Please help!!!
  23. I was not even happy about 3 months and now that I've gotten started there is so much to do!!! I feel like I don't have enough time! Lol I was worried for weeks about having to wait all that time and now I'm stressed about trying to get all the requirements done. I was even thinking about going to Mexico just to get it done faster and now I'm so glad I didn't! 3 months is a short time to completely change my eating habits and I want to learn all I can for the future. I'm actually glad I have to wait now just to give myself time to adjust. I am going thur a very good doctors office that has their own requirements before surgery to help people be successful in the future and I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful team helping me:) Your 6 months will fly bye just that that time to really work on changing you habits and developing better ones!
