  1. Oh Vickie' date=' I wish I could come get you. So sorry to hear you are still in such pain. Where did they place the port?[/quote']

Aww thanks. The pain was not that bad. Mostly just uncomfortable and tired. Best thing is the gas is not as bad & no pain meds tdy. Once I got home I sat in the driveway and took a nap. My car is very comfy & cozy.

My port is on my left side not too far from my DD breast. Its a few inches below my dreadful underwire bra.

  2. Ok here I am on day 11. I've been in the house uncomfortable since surgery on Oct.15th. So I was determined to get out of the house today. Got up, showered, got dressed, packed Snacks (apple sauce & yogurt. Started driving and this damn port area is more tender than I thought. So I made it to Wal-Mart to get two things. Now I have been sitting in the parking lot almost an hour dreading the 10 minute drive home. Really getting frustrated with my recovery time. Havent worked in two weeks (who cares I own the place) but still I didn't think I would be down for so long.

On anothe note I've learned that when I eat I know Its time to stop when I get the pain in my left shoulder blade.

    P.s.

Can someone in Atlanta come get me out this parking lot?!?!

  3. I'm on Day 7 post op. I'm still on full liquids. I'm doing well until I tried to take my Vitamins, I used a pill splitter so that they're in manageable chunks. Nope! Didn't help at all, I think I need to chew it first before swallowing. On the positive side, I lost 7 pounds since surgery just following directions my surgeon gave me.

    Happy healing everyone!

I am on on day 10 and my Dr. still has not put me on Vitamins. I think I may start them week 3. I was actually looking forward to Protein shakes but I have not been approved to drink them yet. Just mashies. I noticed since I started eating them I am now loosing about a half of pound per day now. I knew it would slow down especially since I lost 17 lbs in a week. But at least I am healing. That's all that counts NOW. Lol

  4. I couldn't agree with you more. The further out I've gotten the more lax I got about those check ups. Then I got into trouble with a slip a few years ago. Got to green again and got lax. Now I'm back on schedule with things.

Something my new fill dr told me was to do the cottage cheese pouch test once a month just to test my levels. I never really thought about doing it on a regular basis as I've only done it when I thought I needed one. And then, well sometimes it's overdue.

I feel for you in that waiting for an overdue fill. I find it best to exercise, chew sugar free gum and keep as busy as possible. Working out actually naturally tightens my band a little- it wears off quickly, but helps in the short term hour area.

What's the cottage cheese pouch test?

  5. Yes, go see the doctor about it. I don't have to as often as I did, but I attribute that to the change in my eating and drinking habits. Not feeling the urge isn't normal after the surgery. Keep us posted.

Have your gas pains gone away yet?

Will do. Gas has not gone away. It's not as painful as last week. Good thing is when the gas pain comes it does pass shortly thereafter. But my back is killing me!!! I wish I could go get a massage but I can't lay on my stomach. :(
