Sorry to hear all this but I am done with all that!! I would have thought "In the Powder Room" topics could help you.
Feel better. Sometimes after surgery your first period is like the cleaning out of the bad.

Honestly, pre surgery my doctor wanted me to have three protein shakes a day and water....all of 330 calories. I tried it his way for two days. I had a soaring headache for two days. My blood pressure shot up to 220. It was crazy. I have never had blood pressure problems. I went back and said we have to do something different. He said drink some crystal light to curb the hunger. Yea, that didn't work. So I tried something different, I had a protein shake every three hours , 7am 10am 1pm 4pm 7pm and 10pm. I drunk water in between. No food. IT WORKED. No more headaches no more pain. Only 660 calories a day. I still loss weight. What I discovered from all of this. My stomach could not be empty. Water and shakes consistently. I still eat like this post band. Losing weight. Small cupful of food, every three to four hours. MAYBE, you are the same way. Everyone can not make it on an empty stomach. However, you can change what you put on it. And if you eat/drink at regular intervals, the body wont think its starving. Most important thing, you are not a bad person and you made a good decision. I too cannot exercise until August - need time to heal first.

My husband and I just had that conversation. How can I still have a BM each day and not be eating anything to form it? His answer was I just had to get rid of what I already have. I just had to chuckle when I came out and read your post! Hope you're feeling great! I was banded Monday and feel really good. This is the first time I've felt like I just want to chew something. Am going shopping soon so may be can find something. Have a great day!

How did you eat food so soon after surgery? Didn't your doctor/dietitian give you a diet to follow? I know for many weeks it was liquids only. I didn't have real food for 5-6 weeks after the band. You have to let your stomach heal properly. I lived on shakes and Popsicles after the band. I sipped water, a small amount at a time. I never once did anything that was not on my food list.
Be very careful please, so you don't get hurt.

3 days after surgery?? I didn't eat anything solid for weeks.. you need to go back and re-read your post op instructions.. you are still healing and I think eating mac n cheese and cabbage will hinder that....don't hurt yourself...

I'm not going to lecture you, I'm honestly just fascinated that you WANTED to eat! I cried daily the first week because I was so tired of having to have my shakes/protein drinks every couple of hours and I had absolutely no appetite. It was so depressing to me initially to still be cooking for my husband and missing the food I used to eat but having no desire for it whatsoever...I felt like I had lost a friend! LOL But yeah, like the others said, I wasn't allowed soft foods for about 2 week and even then it was hit or miss; 2.5 years post surgery and I still can't eat some of the foods you tried.

I am very proud of you for writing, "what not to do". I was told no driving for about 2-3 weeks after surgery and being a passenger for not more than 1-2 hours for 3-4 weeks.
It is sad you learned the hard way. Just remember about not lifting anything either until the doctor gives the ok. Each doctor has their own views.
Feel better and stay cool in this terrible weather.
