I am from Florida and I used Dr. Valenzuela and had a fantastic experience. Her and all the Drs involved were great. Christy from Mexico Bariatric Center was my coordinator and she was very helpful and always available if I had any concerns. I am 4 weeks post op and have been feeling great since day 2 w/ no complications. If you are considering Mexico, I would definitely look into Dr. V. Best of luck to you:-)

I am a health care professional, and I chose Mexico b/c my insurance would not cover it in the states. I am almost 2 weeks post-op and am very pleased with my decision. I used Dr. Valenzuela in TJ. All the physicians were friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. V herself is a fantastic surgeon. The nursing staff was very attentive and on top of their game. The hospital was clean and equipment was up to date. All and all it was a better hospital experience than any I have ever had in the states and would do it again in a minute.

Hey Monica, I was sleeved 1 week ago today in TJ by Dr. Valenzuela . She was wonderful and I am feeling great:-) I would love to meet up. Not sure where Philipe Park is, but I am sure I can figure it out. It would be nice to have somebody to talk to that's further along in their journey.

I am a new sleever and located in Palm Harbor.. Very close to you Dooter. I would definitely be up for a meet up :-)

I stayed a total of 5 nights in TJ. 2 nights in hospital and 3 at hotel.

I was discharged yesterday and am now at Marriott. I can not say enough great things about about the staff at MI DOCTOR hospital and Dr. Valenzuela and Dr. A ( for short) I can honestly say that besides the language barrier( which is not that bad) that was the best hospital experience I have ever had.. And sadly I work at a hospital that is ranked one of the top 50 hospitals in this United States.... I am so excited to start my new life. I am feeling great and I owe it all to my friends who took such wonderful care of me:-) gonna go out and do more shopping today, then home tomorrow .

I had my leak test yesterday and all is good, but yes I still have my drain in place. I am so ready to get the drain out and go explore TJ. ..lol

Thanks for the advice Ca medic... Idk about going to work the next day, but I do feel pretty good today. Can't wait to have drain out tmrw. I think that is really my only pain I have. I am so thankful for such a great surgery and great doctors.

Hi all.. Everything went real well. I am still a bit groggy, but I guess that's to b expected. I have some shoulder pain from all the gas, but i can manage. the staff and physicians have been great. Thank you for all of your kind words. I used Dr. Valenzuela, she has been great!!

There r only 2 surgeries today and I am going second. So it looks like I will not b going until around 1100 TJ time. Feeling good right now though, not too nervous. Have had my blood drawn and weight/height done, still waiting on EKG and IV.

Took me like 3 weeks for passport book. Did not pay the extra money to expedite.

Thank you everyone... I can't believe the day is here already, things just became very real. I will update as soon as I can. :-)

Checked in at marriot today and surgery in morning... Everything has gone great so far. Any prayers are welcome tomorrow. Thanks
