I really thank you guys for coming to my resue. I am
definitely feeling better about the LB now. It is definitely safer and safety first.
Sharpie thanks for chimming in on this post and for pointing out an valid reason why this is so true. I did ask this question in the seminar and the doctor made it seem like it not a big deal to get around. I am sorry you guys had to go through this. You have helped me seal the deal thanks to all every comment made a huge difference. I thank you all. Be well...

Thanks Terry and Melissa43,
I do like the LB procedure but unsure about having the port. Does it blend in or is it obvious. I here there can be several issues with the port as well as multiple visits for LB.

Maybe I have been researching and investigating so much that it has confused me. I want to do my homework before I get to my first appointment with the team. I want to be able to get as much information from them as possible.
I meet with the paychologist on Monday and completed around 800-900 questions eval, no lie. It was not what I expected to tell the truth. I will meet with him in two weeks to discuss the eval results. My appt with the team is on August 28.
I need your support or comments in regards to the lap band vs sleeve. I know the doctor's have the final say. But what are the things/reasons why you choose the lap band vs any other procedure? I just want to make the right decision. I want to be healthy and happy. Regret is not an option for me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I only found this website a week ago but have found it so inspiring. I am day 7 of a 28 day pre-op diet before surgery on August 5th.
Hi Angemc,
It must be pretty tough right now but know that it will be well worth it once you start seeing the results of all your hard work and dedication coming through.
God Bless.

I was also banded on 7/11. My gas pains went away after I vomited twice yesterday. Too much moving around in and out of the car, caused me to vomit.
Congratulations on your banding gumbo1971; I know you are probably so happy right now. Are you very tired after the surgery, it seem very scarey to me. But people seem so happy afterwards and say that they did not regret it one bit. I pray that that will be my experience to. Good luck and take care of yourself.

I am also new to the forum. I am in a 3 month waiting period for my surgery and have someone who is banded that recommended this page to me. There is so much helpful and interesting information. I am excited and ready to get banded! Lots of appointments to make but that 3 months will go by quickly, I'm sure.
Hey Bamagurl,
I agree with you about the excitement piece, I am very new here still trying to figure it out. I will keep my fingers crossed for you. Thanks for dropping by and stay in touch.

Good luck. I didn't find this amazing site until after my surgery. I have since learned a lot and made friends with wonderful people.
Go to the local seminars and listen and ask questions. The band was the only surgery I would do. I go to my support meetings every month also.
Welcome Welcome! I did the same thing, searched around and in the end found exactly what fit my situation! Hope you find answers to your questions before you meet with the Doctor! I know I had many! Can't wait to hear more from ya! Best wishes on your search!
Welcome !
Ask lots of questions.
I found it helpful to speak to a "live" person. If you would like to chat on the phone I have free long distance and would happy answer any questions you have. Please feel free to email me.

Hello Everybody!
I am new to this forum, I am cruising around trying to gather information about which procedure is best for me. I must admit there are a ton of other question as well. I decided to have surgery to loose the weight, due to other health issues I'm experiencing.
I am so glad that I found this website, I am sure that I will have useful information, a better understanding of these procedures, and questions for the surgeon when I schedule my first appt.
I so look forward to interacting with you guys and offering up my opinion and advice as well as receiving your valuable input to my question and issues. Just wanted to pop in and say hey...
