  1. Nothing ventured nothing gained!

For me this was my last shot.

I also hit goal weight with WW way back, I think it was 123 success counted Protein, milk, veggies, fats, fruits. Was at 178 lbs-did not hold that for long and have topped out at 271 lbs.

    Lap-band gives me hope!

  2. I'm 57 and don't think being my age and losing weight with Lap Band surgery is harder than say someone that is younger trying to do the same. I do believe that being 57 and trying to lose weight is harder than when I was 37 and trying to lose weight.

At 57 I basically had given up, did not want to fight it anymore! It felt good to eat and not worry about it.Problem was I was about to pop! Could not take that I would not bend over to pick something off the ground as it was to much work!

I'm in bandster hell at the moment but my first fill is around the corner and hope for the best.

  3. I don't have any problem with anything that people need to keep to themselves, as for me I told only a select few and fibbed to everyone else.

I think that people have failed so many times that even a slim chance of failure and the rejection and the feelings that come with it have people keeping the surgery to themselves! The people I did not what to know anything, I told them that my surgery was for a hernia.

  4. I'm 6 weeks out and will get my first fill the 27th of August. In my experience; once the swelling go's down everything is about the same as before surgery. For me the only difference is if I eat to fast I get stuck but not to the point of sliming (if I check myself fast enough) . Slimmed only once and don't want to do that again, because of the pain. Biggest problem still remains head hunger. When you can eat regular food again and time until you start getting fills is called BANDSTER'S HELL for good reason!

  5. I've eaten somethings that I should not have, but I just got back in the saddle again and tried harder the next day. If I was able to diet properly I would not need the band. And guess everyone here could say the same thing. So try harder but don't beat yourself to death over a minor slip.

Here was my slip last night; almonds, pretzels and sour cream and onion flavored crisps! I was mad at myself so today I redoubled my efforts and did well. My first fill is August 22nd, but I think it's me relearning how to eat more than the band not making me feel full!
