  1. I removed all mine except the one in..ahem...an intimate area. And that's because I don't know how to lol. Your nose shouldn't close as long as you get it back in after surgery. Belly button ones stay open for a few days. Tongue stays open for weeks, sometimes years depending on how long you've had it.

No one has ever commented on the piercing I didn't take out. I wonder why! Lol!

Intimate area? Does your BF ever chip his teeth?

  2. I don't mind the shakes at all. At first, I used Body Fortress (from Walmart). Now I use ELITE by Dymatize from bodybuilder.com. Works out a little cheaper even with the delivery. Right now, I have chocolate Mint, Pina Colada, and vanilla. No, they don't taste like something from the malt shop, but they're not meant to. One thing I do is combine Crystal Light Orange with the vanilla. It tastes like a dreamsicle. Give it a shot with the different flavors.

  3. Hi all,

I weighed myself on friday and the scale said +3lbs.. I felt so disappointed that until now I have not stopped eating. Ferror roches, ice cream, juice, cocktails, chocolate, chicken wings... And surprise another +1lbs.. Total in 7 days I have put on 4lbs and today I had a word with myself..that I can't just go back to my old ways (eating when I feel that I have failed) because I have lost 34lbs so far... But it is so hard because in my head I feel like I can eat these things!

Sorry, had to get that out my head!

Today I had 3 eggs with 1 slice of bread and for dinner I am going to have grilled chicken breast in bbq seasoning and salad with some fat free diluted juice.< /p>

What do you do when you have "down days"?! How do you stop yourself from eating "bad things"?!

    Thanks,

    Elisa

I know how you feel. We all do. Let me tell you something: even when you do everything right, you are going to get an occasional day when you, inexplicably, weight more than you did the day before. It happens; doesn't always make sense, but it does. Who knows, it may just be a matter of Water retention dues to some salty stuff you had the day before.

A couple of weeks ago, I was feeling real good about my progress. So I went to Jack in the Box for a couple of their tacos (which I love) for lunch. 4.4oz, including the little bags they come in. Yes, I weighed them.

The next day, the scale said I had gained 1.2 pounds.

    "How the hell?"

You just gotta roll with the punches darlin'. Don't let some temporary bad news set you back further by eating bad stuff. Don't beat yourself up over it.

    It's a marathon, not a sprint.

    Hope this helps.

  4. Name your band... Seriously it helped me develop a relationship with the lifestyle change... And I take are of Ralph..... Or I Ralph haha

My favorite band was Creedence Clearwater Revival. From this day forward, my band will be known as Creedence.

  5. How long after the surgery were you able to drive? The Doctor only does surgeries on Thursdays and Fridays ad I have two kids that will be in school when I have my surgery and I'm their transportation.

P.S. If you were stopped by the police, you would be at risk of a DWI, if they were to find out you were under general anesthesia in a 24 hr window.

Well, I had a mind to drive after the operation. Trust me, you will NOT want nor be ABLE to drive the day of the operation. 24 hrs later, I felt ok to drive, although the hospital STILL did not want me to. I had to take a cab and do a lap around the block before the driver took me to my car in the lot.

  7. I thought it was only general anesthetic thru the IV not the tube down the throat but who knows I was sleeping.

Well, they told me they were going to do it ahead of time. I think it is more likely than not they did intubate you. They like to make sure they have a good airway.

My anesthetic was also via IV; propofol. Yep, they same stuff they gave Michael Jackson.

Good stuff. They told me when they started to inject it. Next thing I knew they were telling me they were done! Actually had to touch my belly to see if there were sutures.

  8. My dose of Glipizide is/was 1/2 5mg pill. I've been able to avoid the dose 3 out of 4 days. My doc told me not to take it unless my AM blood sugar was >150. It makes me uptight to let it get that high, so I take it when my AM blood sugar is 120 or above.

I have also been able to cut my BP meds in half.

It has been worthwhile for those reasons alone.
