  1. After 6 months of supervised visits and almost a month of pre-op I am so ready!!!! Any 7-31 bandsters? Sent from my iPhone5 using LapBandTalk
  2. I spoke w dr. Office and there is no word from UHC. She advised that I could call the pre determination dept at UHC and check status without comprising any approvals. I'm just waiting for case manager to approve the clinicals!
  3. I agree pre op is important not only to shrink the liver but for your mental health where food is concerned. I'm 2 wks into pre op and I feel in control of making better food choices. The first two days was hell, but I survived!!! You will to plan and prepare. I ate my healthy meal at lunch time because of my schedule. I also drank the 42g myoplex shake that help me feel full longer. Good luck you can do it
  4. For me day 2-3 was the hardest. I made it though and it's a lot simpler now. I realized during this process I am a compulsive eater, and I now can control it because of this pre op diet. When my husband and I go to dinner or lunch I make better choices. Today makes 2 weeks I'm on pre op. I know I lost some lbs I can feel it Patiently waiting for my banding day! Hang in there you can do it
  5. Did they provide a reason for denial?
  6. Thank you. I did the 6 months visit too. My file was submitted on Tuesday, pass. On day 6 of pre op just waiting on approval.
  7. How long did it take
  8. I just did the same thing. Cooked a meal for the fam and ate in the other room. I'm on day 5 and I'm holding up!
  9. I have not yet been banded. I'm waiting on approval from insurance. My BFF had him and she liked him, she was a little nervous and she said he answered all the questions and concerns she had. When I met him I too asked a lot of questions and was comfortable with his knowledge and how he explained the process. I'm anxiously waiting for approval. Right now I'm in day 4 of pre op.
  10. Yes. dr holis is my surgeon.
  11. Anyone knows how long it takes for approval from UHC. I know the dr said about 2 wks. In anxious.
  12. I have UHC through my husband and I am covered. However, there were requirements to fulfill like 6 months of supervised visits, psyche evaluation, nutritionist. I'm waiting on my approval any day now.....
  13. Good Luck Ladies! Keep us posted.
  14. I had him initially but changed to Dr. Hollis because of scheduling. My patient advocate had him and she say he was great
  15. I am on day 3 and its getting better. I was provided a list of acceptable Proteins like beef Jerky, turkey weiners, eggs etc along w the Protein shakes. I'm equipped and prepared for these next 9 days. I think the first two was torture! We can do it!
  16. I am in the same boat! All documents were submitted to united health care so I'm on day 3 of pre op hoping approval comes quick.
  17. First I would like to say this is a great site. I stumbled across it researching LB pre op information. This is definitely a journey nearing the end. My insurance required 6 months of supervised visits. My final visit was last week. Documents submitted to UHC yesterday. They say it takes 2 wks for approval. I've received clearance from the surgeon. Hopefully by the time I finish my pre op I can get scheduled. I'm hoping for a July date I'm on day 2 of diet and it has been difficult. Like most threads I read its relatively the same 2 high Protein shakes and 1 healthy meal. Yesterday I was hungrier than a stray dog! Today I was a little more prepared w Jello and beef Jerky to snack on. I'm trying to hang in there!
