  1. I'm one week post op lap band surgery. These last couple of days I have been feeling uncomfortable. I am not sure if it is still gas or something else. for example, this morning I had 1 cup of Water 2 hrs later I had a 8oz shake. I feel pressure on my chest as if I need to burp? my nose got a little runny? I'm not sure what this all means, but it is very uncomfortable. Am I drinking too fast? thanks guys. I thought fluids just went through?
  2. Glad to read your first fill went well and was painless. Yeah!
  3. That is so nice of you. I wear or wore? 3x-4x before surgery. I can't wait to fit into xl. I think I'll give mine away too. Good idea.
  4. It would be so much easier to drink with a straw. I started a topic on that... But I get in as much as I can, and don't sweat it. My surgeon said drink when I'm thirsty and he does not require any certain amount? But I live in Arizona so I choose to drink a lot of water. It's HOT here!! LOL
  5. Good luck on your first fill. Maybe you won't need one? I'll be waiting to hear how it went. It will all go smooth.
  6. Best wishes as you start your new journey
  7. I am 5 days post-op of having the Lap-Band and I have a question. Can we drink out of a straw? I've read mixed information. I really like drinking out of a straw and have been avoiding them since surgery. Do they really cause gas? Once I heal and more time passes will it be ok then to drink from a straw? Thank you. Any information will be appreciated.
  8. What is the healthy minimum of Protein we should have daily? I know we should eat protein first, but I just want to make sure I understand all this protein talk. Thank you.
  9. Well I had surgery Thursday and everything is going well today. I have not had an appetite so I've been drinking lots of Water and eating sf popsicles. I have been walking at least 30 minutes daily which has been helping with the gas. I guess I am lucky because I am not experiencing much gas pain... I guess I am feeling what the green zone will feel like once I heal and get an appetite back. So I am enjoying every minute of not being hungry. Because I know the hunger will creep up soon. Tomorrow I will be able to start smoothies/shakes and take a full shower! Yeah!! And I am off from work for 5 weeks. Life is sweet.
  10. Thank you pinky. You have a nice 4th of July also.
  11. I had surgery this morning and all went well. I was there 3.5 hours and home by noon. I have been really tired, but the pain is minimum. I don't know if I will feel it tomorrow but so far I haven't needed any pain meds. It just might kick me tomorrow, you know how you do yard work and feel sore the next day? No gas pain yet? I am not comfortable lying down though. I sleep better sitting up. I walked for 15 minutes and feel just fine. Not hungry, just been trying to drink Water and sf drinks. Now I am off to feed some feral cats I care for (tnr). Have a nice evening everyone! Oh, and I lost 20 pounds on pre-op diet! Yeah!!
  12. Congratulations! so happy for you.
  13. I work as a CNA so I will be taking 4-5 weeks off. I do a lot of lifting. I and another nurses aide lift patients up to 100 pounds. I love my job though. I just want to make sure I am fully healed before I return to work.
  14. I'm scheduled for tomorrow morning @ 7:30a.
  15. coffee is on my stage 1post-op liquid diet (clear liquids) w/no cream. Has to be room temp. Enjoy!
  16. I also have UHC. They would not cover wls at all! If you can afford it, shop for another insurance. Call the facility that performs wls and ask them which insurance groups cover wls, then go from there. I will be paying for the lap band myself. Good luck.
  17. You're almost there. You can do it! Friday will be here in no time. Good luck.
  18. Sounds good. I'll have to try it. thanks
  19. Wow, you are on all liquids? I thought I had it bad. I am on 2 shakes daily and one healthy meal that consist of 6-8 oz of lean meat, 1 cup veggies, and 1 cup of fruit (no bananas). and I am still hungry... Hats off to you!! you are doing great! I look forward to following you. take care.
  20. I am going to have to look up that ""eat slower" app. Have fun in Denver.
