I was banded the 24th and the gas is the worst pain! I have been taking gas x and walking a lot!!! I have trouble burping too but the gas x helps it escape from the other end!

Just curios where other people's ports are located! My port is right above my belly button and very uncomfortable! I was banded in the 24th and wonder is that discomfort is normal?

I am a teacher and my school insurance denied me because the do not cover any weight loss surgery ever! They will pay for diabeties care but nothing to prevent it! Crazy! My husband has federal insurance and signed me up for his and I was approved! I was banded the 24th and had to pay a portion out of pocket because they didn't cover it all! Good luck!

Well I know that's not what I have then! I am starving because I am newly banded and on a liquid diet!

I have a small bump by, in or on top of one of my smaller incision! Is that normal and what could it be? I was banded on the 24th and still have my clear bandages on!

I am so glad to hear your story... Not quite sure if i am feeling hungry or if its gas! I am thinking hunger but I get so full so fast that I guess it will take time for my body to adjust! My surgery was 7-24 so I am 2 days out!

Hello! I was banded yesterday the 24th! I have been on Clear Liquids for two days! Tomorrow I am allowed Protein shakes.. Jello.. Creamy chicken soup... Cranberry juice .. Crystal light and Water of course! It's interesting that you had some problems with surgery and they are allowing you Greek yogurt and potato Soup so soon! I have a liquid diet for two weeks and then start on mushies for two weeks! After that I can eat a regular band diet! What kind of food are you allowed?

I would suggest talking to a therapist! I don't think we understand how emotionally we are connected to food until we can't eat! I was also banded on the 24th and that following Saturday was left at home alone! My kids were so stir crazy that I had to give them time away! I was hurt that they didn't want to stay home and take care of me! In the past I would have turned to food... And I couldn't this time! So I cried and felt emotion that I have been denying myself for years! I cried for hours and in the aftermath realize that that's exactly what I needed to do! Just thought I'd share my story on here so that you know you are not alone! I started keeping a journal too and that helps to get my feelings out! Another tidbit of info on me... My family is riddled with addiction issues so I decided a few weeks before surgery to go on an antidepressant ... I think it was a wise choice as I have been pretty emotional myself!
