  1. I was banded on 7/24/13 and am struggling as well! I am eating Protein first and hardly have room for roughage! I have had two fills and have 5cc's in my band! My doctor recommended Miralax...hope I spelled that right.. Told me to take it every other day to help me go! I asked if it would hurt me to take it all the time .. He said no... It works to bring Fluid into your bowels and helps you go! So that's what I am doing! Also try Fiber of any sort! Good luck!

  2. Slow or Not... That is awesome!!!!! Congrats! I will be there one day! I remember after my surgery (7-24) my youngest daughter came to see me in the hospital and was very upset that I wasn't already skinny (she is 7)! If only it was that fast! Ha Ha! Enjoy Onederland!

  3. I haven't heard of that before .. But will look into it! I am a teacher and when I get home is my hardest time of day! All I want to do is eat! I am thinking if I start walking at that time and then come in and make dinner .. I won't crave the Snacks as much! Hoping that helps! I am in counseling and talk a lot about my emotional eating! Just a bad day! Not the end of the world!

  4. Today wasn't the best day! Preband I was such an emotional eater! Emotions are high ...I want all the wrong foods! The good news is the band restricts my intake but I need the good food to keep up my weight loss! When I eat the wrong foods I have no room for the good ones! Then I feel guilty ... Ugh! Please tell me I am not the only one that struggles with this!

  5. I should have posted that I also have PCOS and my doctor is pretty aggressive with me! He wants me to continue losing weight and not stall! I will tell you that getting filled so quick had made me learn my body better! I only have 3 cc's but can only eat about a cup of food at a time! My body lets me know when enough is enough! Learning to listen has been hard! Because I remember how I use to eat and so does my family! Now I hear ... That's not enough ... You're going to starve! I can't win for losing! But I will get there! And so will they! I will say that getting didn't stop me from being hungry! So may e I am not in my green zone yet! Good luck all! Fills are in your future!

  6. I am also newly banded and was diagnosed with PCOS in my early thirties! My doctor is pretty aggressive with me... After my surgery on July 24 ... He gave me a fill Tuesday at 2 weeks post op! With 3 cc's in my band I feel restricted bit haven't hit my green zone yet... So I am focusing on my Proteins and trying to omit the sugar from my diet! I love yogurt and fresh fruit ... so that has proved a bit challenging for me! Good luck ladies in your journey!

  7. Banded 7-24... I am amazed how much better I feel 9 days post op. Here is what I learned... Sip sip sip even when you don't want too. Your body needs the fluids! Get in your protein.. Because it will give you the energy you're not getting from food. At first I had to use the tasteless powder to put in my Water and crystal light... Now I am getting Protein Shakes in! Walk even if it hurts! It gets the gas moving and also just generally makes you feel better! I was shocked at how well I adjusted to the hunger! I started working on things for my classroom and I learned to manage the hunger! If I can survive this liquid diet .... I can make better good choices when I can eat! Best of all...,. I learned to keep posting on here and reach out when you need help! These people are amazing and know your struggle! We will hold your hand when things get rough! God bless!

  8. I think we all weigh the risks before every surgery! Anything could happen! I currently have a friend who had a gastric bypass two weeks ago and is battling multiple infections in the hospital! I visited her yesterday... It's bad! But she never said it was the bypass that did this too her! It's risk... I am sorry for your experience! Hopefully you are well now!
