  1. I was band on June 12 I get my first fill on the 22...I lost 16 lbs so far...I too thought it would be more..but I'm glad for what I did lose
  2. Yeah I went through that too...got tired of eating the same thing...what I can tell you is to hang in there...each step is necessary...just keep thinking of that end result your working to get to...you'll do great....this type of eating isn't forever just until you're stomach heals enough for you to start eating regular food again
  3. Use answered your own question take your time eating and be careful to chew your food up good...this should help..but if it becomes a real problem consult your doctor
  4. Wow congrat...you look great...how encouraging
  5. Sweet heart no one can love you more than you and the Lord...Love yourself enough to do what is best for you...don't give up on finding a job...if you don't look you won't find..the right job for you is out there but someone else will get it because you're not looking for it....get a pensil and paper and write down everything you want to accomplish and start working on them one at a time....at the top of that list put being good to yourself and a part of that is doing what you can to lose the weight you want...why go through all of this just to not accomplish what you set out to do....Think of the reason why you started this journey...are these reason because of you and your health, happiness and well being or for someone else approval...if for someone else approval...rethink your priorities...do it for you...when you start putting yourself and health first...you'll see it will get a little easier...keep coming to this forum you'll find people who can be very encouraging and helpful....I hope I was able to help you in some way
  6. My daughter was banded in April after her surgery they gave her ginger ale to sip on...I told her didn't they say we wasn't suppose to have soda? After I got banded they gave me water to sip on...I don't know if that was because of our age and weight differences (me being bigger than her at the time of surgery) or what...We both don't drink sodas now when I have a taste for flavor I use Crystal lite which isn't often because I prefer water...If your doctor says no soda then go with that...water is better for you anyway
  7. sometimes I forget not to drink and eat cause that's what I'm use to doing...I do try to wait 30min after I eat to drink water or stop drinking 30 before I eat....I have to remember not to guzzle water especially on a hot day and the water is so good and cold
  8. my doctor told me he put a couple of cc in my band
  9. I had a party for my brother and all anyone could talk about was how good the cake was..I wanted to scream LOL...but when i look at myself in the mirror and see how much differently I look now then a couple of months ago, not eating the cake was a good thing...Just keep in mind your goal....you'll be fine
  10. the first week I lost 5 lbs since you're mostly doing liquids it can happen like that...it varies person to person....and don't get fustrated if it starts to slow down a bit...its all apart of the process...sounds like you're doing good...keep following your doctor's advice and keep up the good work
  11. I went through that too...yes it can get fustrating but keep going...the scale will start moving again....it sounds like you're doing everything right...anything can affect your weight on any given day...so try not to weigh yourself every day.
  12. sadly these type people are on just about every public forum you go on...I do what I always tell my kids to do...I don't cater to ignorance...I ignore them and stick to talking with the fun positive people
  13. I feel you...we had something last weekend everyone was getting their eat on except me...not easy but the end results will be worth it
  14. Wow Congrats....you are an inspiration
  15. Thanks eveyone, very helpful information
  16. I take other medications...so far after my banding I crush them up and take them which is nasty....do anyone else crush your meds or can you swallow your pills whole
  17. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one going crazy...I hate eating the samething every day
  18. Hi can anyone give me any suggestions for the full fluid diet...I'm so tired of eating the same things evey day....one will before going to the soft food diet
  19. Figured out how to get the ticker....I'm on the full fluid diet...I will be so glad to get to soft diet because I'm tired of eating the same thing...is anyone else having that experience
  20. Can someone tell me how do I get the Body Weight Ticker
  21. The walking def helps...my daughter who was banded a couple of months ago told me about it and she was right
  22. That was the first thing I said when I came out of surgery...my daughter who had her's done a few months ago warned me about it...Walking does help...so if you are able to walk as much as possible
  23. I got mine June 12th too...how arre you doing
  24. Just got banded two days ago....the only thing I'm having problems with is the gas, I'm no longer sore from the actual surgery. I try to do as much walking as possible, I just can't wait to get past this uncomfortable gas part
