I know I keep reading about Gas-X Strips but I'm not sure if that is for home or day of the surgery! So excited for you and best wishes!

I love all the little pointers people give me! It always helps to prepare! My friend even brings a small 3oz bowl and some other things with her. She keeps it in a small bag in her purse, so when she goes out to a friends house she never feels like she over eats, that is just her way of tracking things and it seems to be working! I've just recently went to the store and got some tiny plates etc! I'm excited!

Hey everyone! After hours of being on the phone with his HR department, United health Care and COBRA they have since decided that because he worked today, and was clocked in that he can pay out of pocket for his insurance for the rest of the month. It will be expensive but less than the surgery! All of your comforting words made me happy! Thanks guys! I was a big ball of mess earlier and now I feel much better. None of my fills and after care will be covered but my family is all pitching in to help me. Once again.. thanks! Without knowing about Cobra and other benefits I wouldn't be able to do this. I feel like as if they were giving me no other option until I read all of your comments! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!

I sit and write this with a heavy heart. I came over to my mother's house this morning to find out that her husband had lost his job. What does this mean for me? 3 weeks before my surgery we no longer have insurance. I've been struggling and jumping through hoops the last year and a half... appeal after appeal and then I get approved and he is fired. He pays his insurance weekly so it is not the same as other monthly insurances, so my benefits are gone as of Friday. I had my pre op appointment tomorrow. I'm still in shock and so upset. I thought I was close to finally making the step to bettering myself. Currently I feel hopeless and let down. I'm going to try and stay positive but I'm not sure what else I can do. Thanks for listening guys. xx :'(

Someone on another post mentioned GNC and I start my pre op diet in a few days so I will be going tomorow to check it out. I will see if they have it there! It sounds great! Also that is wonderful that you were able to meet up with her and yall hit it off! Let us know if she gives you anymore awesome pointers, I love to hear them!!

I was approved on May 30th and my surgeon was booked until my surgery date of July 22nd. So about 7 weeks. Originally I was scheduled for June 24th but they called me with the change. My wait is a little long and I'm a little anxious for it to be here already but the time has been flying by as I prepare for it all! Hopefully you hear something soon!!! Best Wishes.

I'm with ya on that! I'd prepare so much food otherwise for the rest of the family.. I need my shakes to be easy! haha. I love that GNC lets you taste them before hand, I didn't know that! I will be going tomorrow because I start my diet on Friday!

Wow! It really does put a smile on my face seeing that you are doing something that you have always wanted to do! Hiking can be so rewarding and fun and I'm sure you will continue to do it and be that person that you have always wanted to be! Even fit people need snacks to keep them going, so in my eyes you did great! You made good choices to help keep you energized for the hike! I've heard the same as above. I'm due for surgery in a 3 weeks and start my liquid diet next week. My friend has had the surgery along with her mom. She had to do a 2 week liquid while her mom only had to do a few days before surgery. Her mom only lost a few pounds but it was more about detoxing her self. Morgan my friend lost 23 pouns during her liquid diet of two weeks which helped her shrink her liver. So like a few others said, don't stress too much over the numbers, worry more about taking the next 6 months and if you do have a pre op diet, to better your self and make better decisions! I have dealt with this from a few of my family members, they insist that I could do it on my own, or that I'am taking the easy way out... in your case there is NOTHING easy about losing 200 pounds, I'm SO proud of you. I can see the concern of family members, cosidering it is a surgery. In the end you know that you are serious about making your self a better person for whatever reason you have and maybe with the results and showing them how amazing and serious you are she will come around. I respect my family's concerns but I've learned that this decision is mine and in the end I'm doing it to better myself! Like I said, I'm in awe of you, that you were able to work SO hard to lose 200 pounds already, im sure the band will assit you in taking you where you want to go. With all your positive habbits already in place and can see you going no where but UP. (Down in pounds though ) haha Best Wishes to you and can't wait to hear more from you!!!!

I'm SO excited for you! So happy that you are doing so great already and you have not even had surgery yet, LOVE the positive attitude! My surgery is in July as well, but I have seen so far to make sure you have Gas-x strips... hahaha. Out of everything people keep telling me they say the Gas pains after tend to be the worst, not for everyone but just in case I would have some on hand to help after surgery! I would say using a pillow would help with some of that, but if that didn't work i'd check with the doc and see if it'll continue to happen! It sounds terrible! XX Best Wishes

I was told something similar about causing dehydration etc. It is so hard to get off, but its been a long time since i've had soda... Tea on the other hand I have daily, some is caffeine free and the others don't have much! Hoping it is not a problem during my diet next week!

The place I did mine was amazing! Like a hotel, with snacks and movie channels... but I didn't sleep well at night because I felt like they were watching me.. and I had 3042984093842 cords stuck everywhere! Some people said it was easy, but I guess I did sleep some because it came back saying I didn't have sleep apnea which was good! I'm excited for you and hope all goes well!
