  1. Hi everyone,

I'm a 22 yr old guy from the Memphis area and am having RNY Tuesday 11/5 (4 days!)

I'm glad to read that others my age are having/have had the surgery..

We have to live with this for a while, god willing.. So we can definitely be a useful support system for each other

Any regrets/suggestions/stats anyone want to share?

Also-- is the hard in college, folks? I'm a student at UT

Also, Also.. Liver shrink is working.. Pants fitting better already!

  2. surgery is November 5th

I smoked e-cigs occasionally but haven't had a real cigarette since June.. Just wondering if my pre-op test will clear me for surgery?

Also, I had a Caesar salad on my first night of liver shrink because I was on the road

What do you guys think..? Don't freak me out lol

  3. My surgery with Dr. Wagner is scheduled for Nov 5th. Im so excited and nervous at the same time. I start the liver shrink diet tomorrow and was looking for some ideas of what to put together for dinners. Any help would be appreciated <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
we're having surgery on the same day by the same surgeon!

  4. I'm so sorry your family isn't supportive of your decision to get healthy. Have you asked them why they won't support your decision? I think they are just scared that you will be the skinny one in the family and then it will make the rest of them look bad. You have chosen to do the right thing for you and it's NOT really their choice so I wouldn't sweat it. We here on RNY talk can be your new supporting family if you'll let us. You can bounce anything off of us and we'll be here for you. You can email me any time if you want someone to talk to one on one at dviveiros56@gmail.com. Good luck with your surgery and wash your hands of the toxic people in your life.

Thank you so much for the advice and future support! I will definitely do so.

  5. My sixth weigh-in is this week, so my surgery is quickly approaching! My family has already make rude comments like this procedure is unnatural, I will re-gain my weight , they'd rather be fat than have excess skin, etc.

I am not one of those people that need to be coddled through this entire process; however, I will not take too much from then. Sabotage is expected, especially when you're surrounded by people bigger than you..

I would hope that if I remain humble and not try to act like a fitness coach that they'd be happy for me.. If not, I'll just wash my hands of them.. I don't need that

I'm debating on telling everyone that I've changed my mind and that I in fact am not having the surgery anymore. Of course I'll still have the procedure and do my best to hide it from them.. Good idea or no?

Would you guys tell your family if you could all over again?

    Thanks,

    Blake

  6. Hi everyone, I am 21 years old, 5'10'' and 340 lbs. My bmi is basically 50 (49.7)

I have 3 more weigh-ins for the insurance. My surgery should be around October. I want to see 180-190, am I being unrealistic? Also, I am still battling the bypass verses the sleeve, would you all mind sharing what made you choose RNY?
