  1. Thank you so much for all your replies! I have taken all on board and will also pick up that book as well for a read!! ;-) it's so helpful to have a forum like this at times when you feel down & alone and to know there are others out there with similar struggles! I'll start tracking again & go back to Protein first.....Thanks again!!! All info is so helpful! I'm back on the wagon today! :-D

  2. Hi everyone, I was wondering if you can relate to my constant struggle with will power & how you find will power & stick to it when you have never known it your whole life!? I have trouble daily with food choices! I have lost approx 27pounds in 9months!!! Help.....suggestions please, I weak!

  3. Hi, I was banded in April 2013 my weight loss journey has been slow and I can't seem to find a perfect green zone!!! I notice every month around ovulation time I swell up & struggle to eat anything except bad choices & mind you this is for 2 weeks out of the month! I find I can't eat eggs, meat, bread, fish...as they make me sick but I can eat ice cream or chocolates out of pure desperation !! The other 2 weeks out if the month my adjustment works perfect or to what I think is the green zone!? I can't afford to be adjusted every 2 weeks and was wanting to hear from any ladies out there with the same struggle!? I have lost about 12kilos so far & have a bit to go!! I will be seeing the doc again in a few more weeks to let them know!!! ????

  4. Hi, I was banded in April last year! My weight loss has been slow but I'm getting there & learning along the way! I'm happy with the band & I know I need it to get to where I need to be! My downside for me is the pain in the left shoulder has been there since day one...but I'm happy to live with it! My girlfriend had the sleeve done years ago and lost a lot of weight but she has since put all her weight back on & now wants to get a band to loss it again! I guess both work if used as tools but either option requires you to assist! I don't have great will power so the band works for me! I wish you the best & Good luck with choosing what right for you! ????????

  5. My doctor has said at every visit that I'm doing fine and my weight loss is perfectly normal & if only I was a fly on the wall I'd hear everyone else saying the same thing, which is " I want to loss weight quicker"!!! So our weight loss is very normal and although some may loose weight quick at the start it does slow down and for others it's a constant slow pace! We will all reach our goals in good time!!! ;-D

  6. Agree!!! I also read the threads of others loosing a lot more weight but we are all so different so I know not to compare anymore! Unfortunately my body likes to hold weight and does not like to loose it fast! I'm happy as long as I have a constant weight loss each month and I'm feeling the health benefits!!! You are doing great, keep up the good work! :-D

  7. Hi, I was banded on the 22nd April and I'm down 20pounds so far!!! Some of us just loose weight slower, but we are still loosing ;-D keep up the good work and stay positive!!!! It's perfectly normal as everyone is different!

  8. Hi all,

so I have an update on the pain on my Left side (upper left abdominal) and also left pain in shoulder!!! The pain in my lower left side and had also transferred to the right in pelvic area was found to be Uterine Fibroids which is ok and quite normal for my age but I still have this pain on the upper left side (higher up) of tummy like a bad cramping and its there most days but not all!!! I had a CT scan which came back ok but the doctor thinks its now the Vagus Nerve which is causing the pain in tummy and also is still in left shoulder now & then.....but the pain is not normally at the same time in those areas! They said it may or may not settle down in 6-12months but they basically said "You have to decide if you can live with the pain or not"!? They also said unfortunately some people do have this kind of trouble with the nerve.......with that in mind ill be putting up with it for now to see how it goes down the track!!! :-/

  9. Thank you so much for your replies! Extremely helpful! I am learning more about how my body is adapting to the band, it does take time well for me anyway and with each day I'm getting closer to reaching my goal....as slow as it is I will get there! I also notice those different signals which I'm now noting down too eg: shoulder pain, chest pain & the feeling of being satisfied! It's such a New & weird sensation and I guess it comes down to learning to eat in a way that I have never been able to prior to the band and re-educate myself! Thanks for all the support, I would struggle without it!!!! :-D

  10. Hi all, I was banded in 22nd April 2013 my op went good but my recovery was 4 days in hospital as I'm allergic to all medication I was given so I was very sick the week of my op! I have had 5 fills I believe I'm at 5.4mil in my band and I have only lost about 5kilos since my op! Weightloss is so slow and I'm not eating much at all! My starting weight was 103kilos I'm 172 cms tall and my current weight is 98.8kilos and I feel like theirs something wrong with me as my weightloss is just so minimal! Im also walking 3-4 times a week!I'm going to the doc today to see if my thyroid is Woking correctly so I can rule that out! Can anyone relate to this or maybe I need more fill..........!?
