I am waiting for my insurance to OK my lap-band surgery. But in the mean time i am eating like i always have,its like i know i will never be able to have these foods again. And i guess maybe i will feel deprived and have mad cravings? why do i do this knowing i need to change? I feel like i want to eat everything ,i guess like a alcoholic having his last drink before going in to rehab. I just hope that i can get over these feelings and have better control of my eating. Maybe i will have to change or die.

Hello Just wanted to read a study on Lap Band Surgery that was carryed out in adults over 50 and the results. I am 59 years old with many health issues and will be banded in September. I was concerned because of my age. Well heres the information i found. Lap band IS safe in older people and the out come was no differant that younger people. I was glad to hear that. I am so happy to hear all the good reports!! I was concerned about my age (59) and doing the Lap Band Sugery. But i checked out several surgery studys that were performed on people over 50 and the outcome was positive and the pros and cons were no differant than younger people. That was nice to hear and made me feel better about the whole thing. So i will be banded in Sepember and i am looking forward to it. I am 312 pounds and have many health issues. this is sure better than dieing . Good luck to you all!.....Bajagal

Well it seems that i would rather have the Band than die sooner from all my obese related health issues. I am willing to take that small change that something would go wrong after. Eather way Lap Band seems like the best thing for me.

Hello I will be banded within 2 months and wanted to find a Lap Band Buddy who has gone through the surgery and is past the 6 month time period and is doing well. if this is after surgery you can try and eat very small meals more often, maybe your blood sugar drops. please see your doctor.

Hello ,,, i have made up my mind to have lap-band surgery, i am 59 year old female, 312lbs with arthritis, Diabettes,high blood pressure, anxity, sleep apnea, I use insulin ( 2 differant kinds Novalog & Lantis) and Metformin,and also take metoprolol & Diovan,( because my heart races) carbamazepine for bells palsy that is much better now ,omeprazole acid in tummy at night ,lorazepam (as needed),hydrocodon (as needed for arthritis) Ibuprofen ( arthritis ) paroxetine (for panic) Levothyroxine-thyroid=,Lovastatin-cholistral .Fish oil tabs,Ginkgo Biloba,Glucosamine chondroitin MSM,one a day womens Vitamin, B12 sublingual 2500 mcg, and Vitamin C 1000 mg. How do i take these meds pre-op surgery and right after post-op surgery. Thank You,Diane R

Does anyone know if Caremore reliance medical insurance have their own surgeons ? And has anyone ever had surgery with Caremore and what was the outcome.
