  1. Depends how fit you are ? IMO I believe if you're just starting out get elliptical as it's less impact and you can decide how hard you want to work. A treadmill IMO is for running and that's it. Treadmill is a sure way to shed those pounds but it's the harder physically of the 2

  2. Wow. Feel real bad for you but if you're eating that few calories and doing that much exercise and not losing weight, that's probably the slowest metabolism I've ever seen!

Maybe go and get your thyroid checked and really have a think if you are actually keeping up to sticking to that few calories and doing that much exercise. Sometimes we lie to ourselves like when I was at my biggest I constantly said "I don't eat alot" who was I kidding.

    All the best

  3. I lost 90lbs on Atkins but it's not sustainable. It's a loophole where the body goes through a chemical reaction that eats fat stores. It turns your body into an acidic state which leads to all sorts of problems. I agree it's good for fast weight loss and occasionally good for the body but its not sustainable at all. There are too many temptations in our world even when you are in the OWL stage to keep carbs so low. I used to be all for it.

I AM NOW A FIRM BELIEVER IN MORE CALORIES BURNED THAN CONSUMED IS THE RIGHT WAY. PLATEAUS ARE A GOOD THING AS I BELIEVE WHEN THE WEIGHT EVENTUALLY COMES OFF ITS A LOT HARDER TO PUT BACK ON.

  4. Since being banded I am training everyday and I am eating sensibly/counting calories and I am working harder to achieve my goal harder than before the band. You know why????

It's because I am major motivated by my weightloss, by comments from people, by clothes fitting easier, by fitting in plane seats, by staying healthy, by living longer, by being able to

    Play with my daughter.

Don't get me wrong the band kick started all this and majorly helps Portion Control but results drive enthusiasm.

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT????

  5. Make sure you are being totally true to yourself when logging calories. It's easy to downplay what you've had to eat and drink and think you've only had 800 when in reality it could be nearly double. I always log slightly more calories than I actually eat so it works purely to my benefit. If you are eating only 800 and still not losing, well id maybe pick up your activity and start cycling your calories.

  6. This is exaggerated but you could eat normal food if you could chew it to a liquid. Always think about this when choosing your food. I moved on to solids quickly as I chew everything to a mush/liquid. Please note - don't take too long to eat a portion as the mush will slip through the band and you will be able to get alot more down. Any questions. Pls ask.

  7. So I had my first fill today. There was 3cc in my band at the time of the op and today he took it out and put 5cc in and asked me to drink some Water. I started burping and he said it was too tight so he took 1cc out leaving me with 4cc in the band. He also said I could eat mushy good straight away and I have had no probs at all. Does feel a little tighter. Lets see how I go :-)

  8. Wow. Cheers brad. So how do I make a 1000 cal deficit? How many calories should I be having? And burning etc. I normally can only squeeze in 30 mins interval training that gives me a 450 cal burn. I normally eat between 1200-1400 cal on these days so my net tends to be between 800-1000.

    Pls help lol
