  1. Hello fellow September sleepers. I am two weeks out and started soft foods today. This morning I had a poached egg and couldn't finish it. Also had a few tiny bites of cottage cheese then full. I'm so surprised at what a tiny amount I can eat. I know it will change but wonder how a person could possibly get their Protein and enough calories to survive! I had a shake for dinner for the protein. Good news is I've lost 14 pounds! It's been great having different foods though.

  2. How many calories are you guys eating at 6 or more months out and still losing weight?

Did your doctor tell you to stay at or under 650 calories a day? I haven't been sleeved yet but that seems low. I am 204 now and was told 950 after i start solids. just seems a little low for nine months out. But if that's what your doing don't fear it will definitely keep coming off. Hang in there !

  3. Congrats' date=' I had both of my kids at Evergreen. It's a nice hospital. I didn't get covered by insurance because my BMI wasn't high enough (which is such a joke) so I think that's why my process moved so quickly. I hope you hear good news back from yours. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you![/quote']

Thanks and good luck to you. I too have a low BMi but have high blood pressure and sleep apnea so hopefully my insurance will pay.

  4. Congrats to you! I'm at the same clinic' date=' but not until the 23rd. Chock is my surgeon. Who did you pick?

Best of luck! Hope you are doing okay with your pre-op diet! I've tried to do a practice run a couple times. First try was an epic fail (I hadn't figured out which Protein shakes I was willing to drink...), and today, I nearly made it to dinner! (I'm sure my failure to adhere had nothing whatsoever to do with it not being critical until next week!)[/quote']

Dr. Chock is my surgeon too!

  5. Long time stalker' date=' first time poster!

I'm having my VSG on Weds 7/10/13 at NWWLS in Everett, WA. Good luck to all you other lucky July folks!

Sent from my iPad using VST[/quote']

Wow I am also going to Nwwls in Everett! My doctor is dr chock. My paperwork was submitted to insurance last Wednesday waiting impatiently to hear back! I have to have my surgery at evergreen hospital for insurance reasons do it might not be till August

  6. Hi, I'm from Arlington my doctor is Dr. Chock. I am waiting on approval but have gone through all the hoops. I will be having my surgery at Evergreen because of my insurance. I have to go to a hospital that is a center of excellence. When was your surgery? I'm also curious if you have acid reflux issues. I am hoping this isn't something that will happen to me but as I'm reading this forum it sounds pretty common.

  7. Thanks for this video. I have not had surgery but should sometime in July or August. Have my nut appointment Wednesday then paperwork will be submitted to insurance. I have been real excited and nervous about this surgery. I was nervous just because of complications but now I'm nervous for another reason. I have just started reading the vets forums and some others and I'm so scared about maintenance now. It sounds like the beginning is pretty easy but it gets really hard when your towards goal. Even people who are eating under a 1000 calories a day. I guess your body just adjusts to whatever amount you eat. I hear people are going to try the 5:2 diet or some other diet and I think man I don't want to go down that road again. Also, so many people eat barely any carbs. I know how important the Protein is but I don't want to worry about eating a piece of fruit. I don't know I'm just worried about all the people who are struggling even though they seem to be doing everything right. I live in the northwest also and thank god we decided to put air conditioning in when we bought the house, its been sooo hot!

  8. The Greek yogurt pops are at my publix but I know fresh market has a ton of flavors

Shoot we don't have publix or fresh market around here. I think there is a whole foods fairly close though. And I'm fairly certain my costco doesn't have the chicken curry since I'm there like once a week. Darn, oh well there is a trader joes about a half hour away.
