  1. From now on I will do liquids at least 24 hours and more like 36-48 hours after being filled and then eat softer foods and slow and chew chew chew - b/c I think that I caused my band area to swell by eating hard Protein right away - duh me! I'm better but still very sore in the throat area and not like a scratchy sore throat more like a muscle sore throat from being too tight. Rybearsmomma - you and I are at the same point in our journey with similar things happening :) hard lessons to learn that's for sure! I hope that you are well! :)

thank you so much! And you are right it's very much a learning experience. I like your idea of the 36-48 hrs after a fill. I'm sure our Tummys are mad at us being poked all the time ;)

  2. Both foods are slider foods and in a properly adjusted band would slide through leaving you with some hunger. If you have to rely on slider foods here on out you won't get a lot of needed nutrition from these type of foods. I know it sounds good to only eat a few tablespoons of mashed potatoes and applesauce but there's a lot of empty calories there. How are you doing with solid Protein so far? Just remember this, all calories are not the same. Your body will need a lot of protein to stop itself from feeding off your own muscles for energy and subsidence. If this is the only foods you can tolerate, I would think you're still too tight and may be in the red zone? Could be swelling from the fill/unfill or could be too tight from an overfill. JMO tmf

good advice thanks a million! Thinking about trying fish as my first solid Thursday. It can't come room enough :)

  3. Thanks a million!! It may be early but chili went down this am no problem. I'm kinda in a pickle as I don't know if that counts cause it's kinda mushy even with ground beef. I may just wait a day or two before having an unfil. Thanks for all the advice! Great to be in a place with all this knowledge :)

  4. I'm about 5 months out. And I've had shrimp lots of times before this last fill with no problems. Maybe it's just the fill and now I can't handle it. I called the dr and they advised liquids for rest of the weekend and call Monday for a slight unfill as I tried to eat again and for sick :(

  5. So I went in for my 3rd fill this passed Tuesday and the dr put in 2 ccs to give me a total of 6. I did my liquids that day, mushies on Wednesday now on to Thursday. I started with yogurt and that was fine, lunch I did mashed sweet potatoes and for dinner I tried some chili. I didn't get stuck but felt like it was very very close. So I did the same yesterday. And even saltines made me feel like I was going to PB.

Today I tried to eat a salad and grilled shrimp ( I'm taking 3 SMALL shrimp)for lunch and up it came. Water goes down no problem. So I'm wondering is my body still adjusting to the fill or should I have some removed?

  6. rybear did you have any symptoms of the flipped port? and congrats I can see the difference as well!! keep up the great work

no I had no idea until I went for my first fill, my doc sent me to the ER for X-ray then called an we scheduled the surgery for two days later. I just went back last week for my second fill ( he put 2 cc in at the port revision) and it went like a dream :)
