    Your favorite nsv's?

The *Wrapping a regular size towel around me* < this is soo true for me!!! I hate that only Beach towels wrap comfortably around me!! Lol (but not really funny). Thanks for that one! I can't wait to have that NSV and more!!

    The wait continues

Wow!!! Well Congrats on your completion of your 6mos of torture!!! I'll have my 3rd appointment with the nutritionist on Thursday...halfway there...halfway crazy!! What helped you not go just bonkers waiting for your 6mos to be up? What type of insurance do you have, if you don't mind? Also, what is the pre op consultation?? Is that the beginning of your pre op 2 week diet?? Sorry for all the questions, but it feels good to hear from someone that's on the same road as me... and not being banded in like two weeks like a lot of other people on here (No offense to them).

I'm glad to hear that you were strong enough to make it through and look at you now in ONEDERLAND!!! Yaaay you! My 6 mos feel like torture sometimes but with kind words and support like yours and others I'm sure I can do this! Thanks tons and keep up the great work!!

    1500 Cal Diet...Really??

Wow! But by being banded, are you even able to handle 1500 cal??? Even with fills and all I had no idea that anyone would struggle with whatever caloric amounts they were given. Please lmk! I appreciate your honesty!

    1500 Cal Diet...Really??

Yes I am female and trust me, I may not have said much but I have read plenty on here within the last 7 months before I even joined so I def know what I am facing. However the "sweet" thing about the band is that it has the potential to help with hunger sensations as well as portion control. Plus the whole thought of messing up what was set in place by the surgery itself is motivation enough to do the right thing. Although I had my moment I have managed to stay in line and I don't plan on steering off track any time soon. But like many many others have stated, if DIETING was easy and manageable, NONE of us would be here. I do thank you for your response and support, though!
  9. Love love love the graph!!! Looks like you've been doing great! keep up the good work! I hope to have a graph of my own and be at the "Less Big and Fat" point too!!!

    The Dreaded STRAW

Okay I haven't been banded yet...still in the 6mo dietician limbo, but why can't you use straws?? I too cringe at the thought of drinking from a restaurant glass.
  12. MaggieMay 702 I'm just on the "diet" given by the dietician to honor the reqs of my insurance. It's just really a guide to healthier eating (portion control, balanced meals, etc).I have about 4 more mos of this and then I have to wait for my insurance to approve, then I'm banded. I just hope there isn't a weight loss req in order for me to get approved...I put enough pressure on myself as is. Thanks for the advice, though!
  13. Wow I'm soo glad that someone else is experiencing the same thing that I am...well not really because this fluctuating scale thing sucks. I was down like 9 lbs the week after my first visit with my surgeon and I was over the moon. But the next week I was only down 2lbs. I hate when that happens because then I get obsessed and discouraged by the numbers...like I tried really hard to stick to the new eating requirements, but with no reward. Makes me want to just eat again. (Sigh)
  14. So just 1 week since my first visit with my surgeon and I have lost 9lbs!! Yay or nay? I'm not sure how I should fee about this...I'm glad to lose it, but I don't want to risk not being eligible for the surgery...sigh...

  15. Hi All!!! A little about me: I'm 27 and my current weight is 259 (wow did I just say that out loud? Lol) oh and I'm 5'5. I just had my consultation with my surgeon on this past Friday and I'm stoked. My surgeon told me that I was a "star candidate" and the insurance rep told me that my insurance was perfect since it would only cost me about $250 out of pocket for the syrgery. The only thing is that I have to wait another 5 mos before I can have the surgery due to insurance requurements (not so perfect after all). So it'll be around December or January before I'm banded. Like many of you I have been battling with my weight as long as I could remember..I was at my smallest my last two years of hs when I was fitting comfortably in size 12 jeans...and even then I thought I was fat (crazy much?) But since then things have spiraled out of control. I've been up and down beteween 30-40 lbs but the weight loss never lasts and the weight gain is always around the corner. Last year was the first time I contemplated the band but my insurance didn't cover it so I kind of just gave up. Then this year I got a new job with really good benefits and revisited the possibility of having the procedure done. And so here I am. I know that this will be the kick in the pants that I need to get me to the healthy me that lies underneath the fat girl that has been smothering me for all these years.I love swimming and want to start running and I'm so excited that I will finally get the chance to do both freely while eating healthily. So in the closing of my intro I would like to say thank you to all of the members of this platform. The joyrney pics, the success stories, the fall off stories, the pain stories (pre and post op) and just the openess and honesty of each and every one of you has encouraged me to follow in your foot steps and take control of my life. I am open to any comments or suggestions as to how I can be successful in my journey. (Steps down off soap box:) Thanks! Sweets27
  16. Umm as Salsachica82 put it, I would have loved to have had the opp to get to know you even as you were on this pic! Just gorg you are! But as I too am on this journey I know that what others thins isn't nearly as important as what You think about yourself. Big congrats to you on your loss and a healthy new lifestyle! I'm sure you were great then and you're even better now! Don't hurt 'em out there! I don't think they're ready! ;0)

    Met my surgeon

I envy ALL of you!! I just had my first seminar scheduled and it's not until June 11th!! I haven't even met my surgeon yet, but I'm sure he won't call me skinny (heck nothing about me is!) I'm 5'5 and close to my highest ever at 255! (embarrassed face) I'm in size 18 too but I hate it soo much. I just can't wait to get the balls to rolling so I can be rid of this fat girl once and for all! Good Luck to you all and happy weight loss!
