I love these posts!!! I can't wait to ride on a carnival ride with my kids. My NSV's so far are: Being able to wear an XL shirt that my son gave me 2 yrs ago (He kept asking why I hadn't worn it and thought I didn't like it. I didn't have the heart to admit that I couldn't wear it!), having a coworker tell me I needed new jeans because I'm almost mooning her in the old ones every time I bend over, having to sell brand new winter clothes that I bought last year because they are way too big and being able to complete the HipHop Abs workout DVD with my 8 year old daughter without passing out!

I saw this recipe on FB and decided to twerk it, oops...the Miley Cyrus in me came out...I meant 'tweak' it, LOL
Neiman Marcus style dip
1 cup of plain nonfat Greek yogurt
1/2 cup of fat free sour cream
8 ozs. of 2% shredded cheddar cheese
8 slices of turkey bacon, cooked and finely chopped
5-6 green onions, finely chopped
Mix together well and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Serve with veggies, crackers, etc.
The original recipe calls for 1 1/2 cups of mayo, 8 ozs. of shredded cheese, a jar of Hormel bacon bits, 5-6 green onions and a package of slivered almonds.
It was delicious!!!

I had surgery on 03/29/13, so I'm almost 8 months post op. I started out at 256 lbs. and my goal weight is 150 lbs. Today, I weighed in at 190 lbs. Because of my height and the fact that I have huge boobs (LOL), I really just wanted to fit into Size 12 jeans. I figured that would make me look well proportioned. I wanted to wait to buy clothes, but everything is falling off of me. I caved in today and went to buy a new pair of jeans. I bought a Size 14, but was too embarrassed to try them on in the store. I just tried them on...they're too big!!! Yippee!!!

Way to go!!! Now go exchange those jeans!!!! Perhaps you will find you need a 10....don't be afraid to try them on!!!! Love it!

Good for you!!! 5 months and that close to goal? AMAZING progress!!!

Something I picked up on my own, from bits of info here and there...
for instance, whenever someone has a problem the first thing the Dr. says is to go liquids for a few days....
Also, the Dr. may give a complete un-fill, accomplishing the same thing...giving the band a rest....
I can't speak for anyone else, nor would I say this will work for all.....but in my case, I have not had a fill in about 2 1/2 years now.....that's not to say I have never felt I needed one...but if everything is going along well, then I notice things begin to slack off, I will give the band a rest...and for me it will "Re-new" that place of where things were optimum for me...
I've also read here people do this to "kick Start" weight loss, perhaps to break a plateau...or maybe to return to square one as was the case right after surgery. and work back into mushies, then good solid food choices....
Whatever the outcome, I have found it to be beneficial for me.....

There are very few people who know I have a lap band. Today, after church, myself and a group of friends went out to eat. My 8 year old daughter was ravenous, and in the process of shoveling her food down, apparently something got stuck. Someone asked her if she was okay. She replied, LOUDLY, "Something is stuck in the port of my lap band, that's all!" Wasn't expecting that one...I laughed way too loud and changed the subject very quickly!
