Pygo - yes I am actually tracking everything I put in my mouth. So no unreported Snacks. I didn't go thru this surgery to lie to myself.
So, how do you fix or reboot metabolism?

I was banded on May 21st. I immediately lost 5-10 pounds in addition to the 20 I lost pre-surgery, but have been in that range ever since. I have lost size (dropped two sizes - and my friend told me that my smaller pants have droop in the butt). I get my first fill Wed.
I have been closely watching all that the nurse told me to do-
60-80 grams of Protein daily
1000-1200 calories (this one is tough - most days around 750)
64 - 100 oz of Water daily
Plus Vitamins, etc.
Been doing low impact exercise (due to existing ortho problems) including yoga, Pilates, and walking.
I am not eating the "wrong things" ( fried, un helpful sugar, etc) but so want to CRUNCH something - I have had raw carrots - carefully chewing them up.
Getting frustrated. Beyond lapband, I have never been known for my patience, so slow/no results isn't helping.
HELP!!

Tomorrow is 4 weeks from surgery. I get my first fill on Wed. But am working my way on the soft diet progression.
I lost 10 pounds in the first few days. And now, nothing.
As directed, I am eating 60-80 grams of Protein daily, and under 1000 calories (most days nearer 750), and drinking in excess of 64 oz of Water daily.
Just recently added a pedometer - in tow days did 4800 steps and 2800 steps.
I am beginning exercise - yoga, Pilates and walking - due to orthopaedic restrictions on anything higher than low impact.
Have ridden my bike, plan to do more.
A less than 1000 calories, pounds should be dropping. Why not!
Nurse keeps telling me to be patient - unfortunately I don't "understand that word". Never have.
Help!

I started with a BMI of 38%. I also have BCBS - the federal Employee program.they required a 3 month physician supervised weight loss program. I followed all of their instructions, helped make sure that the surgeons office got everything that they needed or wanted from my other docs. Luckily the hospital system here has a nurse in charge of the program that helps walk you thru the system - and knowing what to expect every step of the way..
BCBS approved me with only one co-morbidty factor - but a REALLY shitty family heart history. And my co-morbidity factor was high cholesterol.
I had my surgery 5-21.

Wow! Real food already? How long ago was your surgery?
I am on Clear liquids for two days post op, the full liquids (which includes Protein enriched skim milk, yogurt, and non fat pudding made with Protein enriched skim milk) for TWO weeks. I don't get to "mashable" foods until in the second post op week! I know every doc does it differently, but......

Fluid amount during surgery
in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Could I have misunderstood? I swear my surgeon said that he put NOTHING in my band. And didn't at the first post-surgical visit (2weeks later).
I go Wed for my first fill. Surgeon said he wanted to let heal from surgery before he started fill. So at this point, eating right, has been pure willpower - no help from a band.
