  1. Feeling sad' date=' embarrassed, cranky, frustrated....I haven't had no restriction since surgery and I was hoping my first filling (2cc) would help and it did for only two days!!! I'm always hungry and weak so I eat and eat some more!! I'm embarrassed with the people that know about my surgery because I feel like a failure, specially since I'm self paid!!! I am cranky frustrated and sooo discouraged! Is there hope for me?!?!?!?!?!?![/quote']

Hi there, I had my first fill (2.5cc) 2 weeks ago and still no restriction, I too was feeling like a failure as the scales never moved and I have been watching everything I eat but the doc told me that it isn't until the 2nd or 3rd fill until you start feeling some restriction. So keep going and don't give up! Like me I felt deflated but we didn't pay all that money for nothing, it will work it just takes a few fills and a bit of patience and food control! Hang in there sweetie xxx

  2. I had my surgery yesterday and so far the pain hasn't been too bad (minus the awful shoulder pain but that's subsiding) however' date=' I'm starting to get pain on my left side, where I have 3 incisions. Is it the incisions that hurt, or is it gas in my stomach?[/quote']

It sounds like the port site. My port is on the left under my breast and under the main incision there. The port is stitched into your muscle under your skin and it takes a while for the pain and uncomfortableness to heal. I'm 3 weeks post op and still get a kind of yanking sensation from the port. It's all part of the healing process don't worry it will all pass in the next few days xxx

  3. Hi I'm 11 days post op. feeling really good even started on mushy food today, was yummy. Anyway, sat down earlier for a nice night with my husband in front of tv and started to feel so dizzy, my hearing went, and everything got very weak. Felt hot also. I went and lay down and I fell straight asleep. My question is has anyone else had this kind of dizziness before? And what is the cause?

  4. Hi! I was the same I'm 8 days post op and still can't get quite comfy. Although the port discomfort is getting a little easier day by day. And plus I think that your so aware the port is there you tend to be extra careful. It will ease day by day. I lie on my back and my right side with a pillow tucked under my tummy. Hope it gets better as the days go by for you x

  5. Hey all! Had banding yesterday. Feeling ok. Wounds are very sore especially were port is and were the drain was. Had very bad experience with anaesthetic too. But hey it's all over now. Anyone got any tips on how to get comfortable while lying down. My wounds are so sore and feel like I'm bursting them when I move.

  6. They are all great ideas! And your worries resignate with me being a mum of 4 there is alot to think about while we recover! But you have a great attitude. I am trying to think of the positives and I think for me it's the waiting around for surgery to happen, that gets to me. My mind goes into overdrive while I'm waiting. But hey I've waited long enough for this so another 6 days won't be any harm! Xxxx

  7. Getting very nervous now! Next Tuesday 13th I'm getting banded! I'm trying very hard not to catastrophise things but I'm having very strange taughts! Maybe ill die on the table, maybe wen the doc goes into keyhole my liver mightened be ready. Anyway I'm really excited but so nervous!

  8. That's so nice that you get to see your mom! There's nothing quite like a mothers love when one is sick and poorly. I'm starting my pre op diet next week and yes we have slimfast shakes. So I'm really excited to start drinking them (not :)) keep in touch let me know how it goes for you all the way in oz! xxxx

  9. I asked myself right up until they wheeled me into OR and said "OK' date=' we're going to put you under now". My Surgeon looked down at me and said "Are you ready?" I said "let's both have a great day today" and asleep I went. Perfectly normal to be nervous. I would do this over in a heartbeat. Good luck!![/quote']

Thanks jim. Really hope that's how it goes for me. I think once it's done I'll be fine but it's the initial waiting and getting anxious.

  10. I just confirmed my booking and I am super excited. I am also a bit nervous that it goes to plan. I keep thinking that after key hole incisions they might find something that will stop the surgery from going ahead. I have read so many horror stories about this. I have high blood pressure and I'm afraid it has damaged liver or kidneys. Has this happened to anyone or am I panicking too soon!

  11. Hi there, after many years of ups and downs in weight loss I've decided to get gastric band! I've done my research and decided I'm going with Dr Chris de Bruyne in Belgium. I'm going July/August 2013, just waiting on final date. If anyone has been to Belgium I would love to hear their stories! I'm quite nervous as I've had high blood pressure for years and I'm concerned there will be damage to my liver/kidneys and he won't be able to do the surgery. If anyone has any info with any if these things I would greatly appreciate it!
